Shiney Cult - how do you eat yours?

1002 replies

TrillianAstra · 10/04/2010 16:03

Sparingly we hope - with plenty of fresh fruit and veg

Spring is in the air and we are still here, on our 62nd (?) thread for healthy eating, chat, and of course the cult mascot (what better to put you off your food?).

The aim of the game is to post a lot, eat slightly better than before, and enjoy life.

Hip? Yuck. I hope I'm not hip.

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 11/04/2010 17:50

they are pumps, you know like what teenagers wear

bellavita · 11/04/2010 17:53

But you will have some fashion stuff Trills?

TrillianAstra · 11/04/2010 17:55

Er... what's "fashion stuff"? If you have converse that makes you more "down with the kids" - my trainers are apparently vans- that's a brand not like a transit van obviously.

OP posts:
DreamsInBinary · 11/04/2010 17:56

Vans are skateboard trainers; converse are baseball trainers.

Trills - I'm sure you must be a little bit fashionable, that Coast dress was lovely.

DidEinsteinsMum · 11/04/2010 17:58

so basically what used to be called sneakers. fair enough.

I will be sitting in the untrendy, uncool corner. Fashion is a complete mystery to me. Shoes - 1 pair for gardening, pair trainers, 1 pair heels, pair of wellies, 1 pair flats and a pair of flip flops. what more do you need?

I need to get ds in a bath. he smells. CBA to move though. its effort.

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 11/04/2010 17:58

oh well i like to be 'down with the kids' then, keeps me young and down to earth too

Bella i am sure you are very lovely and classy, much better than being hip imo

bellavita · 11/04/2010 18:00

I know what Vans are.. DS2 has got Vans baseball boots and both boys have got various bits of Vans clothing..

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 11/04/2010 18:04

i've never heard of vans

DreamsInBinary · 11/04/2010 18:08

I had a pair years ago and I loved them. V comfortable as well as having the loko I was after. Bella - I didn't doubt that you would know what they were!

DidEinsteinsMum · 11/04/2010 18:13

I am beginning to thik that someone is going to have to rumage through my wardrobe and come up with something suitable for July... It appears that it might just be mission impossible.

Shiney try an early warm bath and a cuppa for you. It works with ds...

Then again so does bribery.

I have an enhanced CRB check. The form was so ridiculously thorough I think I had to let them know my bra size.

Glad you escaped alive, SAF.

Deep breaths Shiney, not long now...

TrillianAstra · 11/04/2010 18:28

Well done on extra fruit and veg SAF. I bought butternut squash and peppers and cherry toms and am going to have that with my steak this week - no potatoes - to see if I feel any healthier.

DP saw his friend's showroomy flat this weekend (v anal girlfriend apparently - and keep your dirty minds off) and is now bleaching things in the kitchen. I should be glad but am a bit at the suggestion that we live like the people on the 'filthy homes' thread. Oh well, if he wants to bleach he can.

See the coast dres is not 'fashion' IMO, it is a lovely nice dress. I am fine with 'things that look good' just not with 'things that are in/out/shake it all about'. It takes me a long time to get used to the idea of some new innovations - all my jeans are bootcutish and I intend for them to stay that way.

Hello ladies

I only have one pair of trainers, that i bought 4yrs ago. They are Dunlop Green Flash in pink and grey (i think they are/were cool )

Ham salad and oven chips for dinner, just about to dish up.

Have a good evening

Oh, and Trills is stylish rather than what i would call fashionable (or fashion victim!) That is a compliment BTW, haven't got time to re-phrase that

TrillianAstra · 11/04/2010 18:36

at Alice - not to say that people who keep up with fashion are all 'fashion victims' of course.

I think in 20 yrs time looking back at pictures it will be easy to pin down some people and say 'that must have been 2010', or 'the Ugg era' or 'this is when people thought wet-look leggings were a good idea' but others will be less easy to spot.

OP posts:
VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 11/04/2010 18:42

Well i look forward to showing my grandchildren old photos of me is my uggs/converse/skinny jeans worst fashion mistakes

And also telling them that fashion goes around in circles, just like my Nan always tells me, and when i see pictures of her in her mini dresses and bee hive in the 60's she looks beautiful, even if she was a 'fashion victim'

bellavita · 11/04/2010 18:43

JM is home.. dumped all his stuff in the hall he is now on his lappy, he is very tired, voice like Barry White with all his drinking that has been done over the weekend with little or no sleep!! and I could see it was an effort for him to eat his tea - this was after me saying last week are you sure you want something when you get in?... his answer was yeah of course I will want something to eat it will be tea time. He has just told me he had a big lunch (which I knew he would of) and had a cooked breakfast too. I have soooo enjoyed the no mess, being on my own this weekend.

TrillianAstra · 11/04/2010 18:44

No no no Vinny - there is the difference between being fashionable and a victim - do you wear it because it's fashionable and you look good, do you wear it because it's fashionable in spite of looking awful?
