New thread, same old plan.

We are a bunch of varying-in-size ladies (with the occassional male visitor) who all want to eat more healthily. We include those who want to lose 50 lbs, those who have already lost 50 lbs, those with only a little to lose, and some who just like to chat.

Come, post lots, and you will get encouragement, sympathy, and ass-kicking as necessary

Claudia, I was 40 in Feb and I have to say, I'm not too keen at the 4 in front of my age now! It does really creep up on you, this age thing, doesn't it.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 29/03/2010 11:34

I love being in my 40's . I don't know why, it just feel right. It's going to be the decade for turning my life around!

ClaudiaSchiffer · 29/03/2010 11:35

The only consolation, mycatisabastard, is when people claim you don't look your age. Actually thinking about it, I can't really remember that happening very often, gah. .

Oooo Norma

Claudia - thank you I definitely feel better this morning, 'lighter' now i've made the decision just not to play games anymore. And you're right, its all about making it better for dd.

ToccataAndFudge · 29/03/2010 11:35

I said that about my 30's and it all went tits up again

ClaudiaSchiffer · 29/03/2010 11:37

Yay Mits, that's the attitude. I like it too, really. I totally have a great 'who gives a shit' attitude now. I'm much less anxious than I used to be and feel more grounded and confident I suppose.

Lizzylou · 29/03/2010 11:40

Nice to hear 40's are OK.
DH keeps saying I will be late 30s next week, though I classify 37 as more mid (is early 30s pushing it??)

NormaSknockers · 29/03/2010 11:40

Ooo Mitts you saucepot you!

MyCatIsABastard · 29/03/2010 11:41

Ah Norma, at least somebody wants to snog me.

Mitts, not sure why but I've always preferred odd numbers when it comes to age, so I'll feel happier at 41 than 40, not that I'm wishing my life away. I am though, happy to do just what I want to do for me and the family and have really stopped caring about other peoples opinions. Have been like that for a couple of yrs now. It is rather liberating.

wastingaway · 29/03/2010 11:41

Morning!

Good luck today DEM.

I'm looking forward to being a grumpy old lady. I've always said that when I grow up I want to be Germaine Greer. I used to love Waiting for God too.

DH is away for work now. He'll be back for a few hours on Friday, then away again. Pretty much won't see much of him until May now.
I'm going to aim for more veggie-type meals. Veg in everything.

MyCatIsABastard · 29/03/2010 11:42

Lizzy, have to break it you you, 37 is NOT early 30's. I'd stick with mid if I were you. .

ClaudiaSchiffer · 29/03/2010 11:42

Right laydeeeze, I'm off to bed with Lee Child (writer). Has anyone read his stuff? - Macho boys crime writing - I'm reading my first one. DH is on sofa watching Bear Ghrylls eating live Bull Frogs. We know how to ROCK here in Oz.

Have a good day everyone.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 29/03/2010 11:45

Oh GOD, Bear now has diarrhea.

Definately going to bed.

Lizzylou · 29/03/2010 11:46

Night Claudia, sweet Antipodean dreams

Mycat, sssshhhh, let me fool myself a wee while longer...

Wasting, that will be tough, we're all here though.

Can I just say, Tax people are wankers?

Apologies to those who work for HM Revenue and Customs, that has just been my experience to date

NormaSknockers · 29/03/2010 11:48

MyCat a little less tounge next time

Night Claudia!

MitsubishiWarrioress · 29/03/2010 11:51

That must be tough wa.... does he ever get long periods at home?

I want to be a mad, batty, old woman and use my advancing years as an excuse to do things I have only dreamt of doing!

MyCatIsABastard · 29/03/2010 11:52

Night Claudia. Bear is a mad man who I would never ever kiss (literally think of the crap that man has put in his gob!!)

Lizzy, you are in the prime of your 30's.

bellavita · 29/03/2010 11:53

Oooh am liking the words "sauce pot" and all the snogging!

I am middling... towards the middle.... of my > 40's. Still feel like I am 25 though! (well most of the time)

MyCatIsABastard · 29/03/2010 11:55

Sorry Norma, it's been a while!

Mitts, I have definitely decided to be an eccentric old bird. I shall drink sherry all day long, say exactly what is on my mind in a loud and inappropriate way ("goodness me dear, you are looking rather fat today" or "Oh, did you get that outfit in the seconds sale/jumble sale/charity shop" type of thing) and wear lots of bright colours and always always have my hair and makeup done!

MyCatIsABastard · 29/03/2010 11:56

Wasting, that's got to be hard with DH away so much.

Lizzylou · 29/03/2010 12:02

Am loving prime

Bella, that is good to hear, that you still feel 25, because I don't feel very mature at all, hopefully I can stay that way and join Mycat and Mitts in the "Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know" Old Bat's corner
