New thread, same old plan.

We are a bunch of varying-in-size ladies (with the occassional male visitor) who all want to eat more healthily. We include those who want to lose 50 lbs, those who have already lost 50 lbs, those with only a little to lose, and some who just like to chat.

Come, post lots, and you will get encouragement, sympathy, and ass-kicking as necessary

Good luck today, DEM. Will be thinking of you.

Contact - you are not a bad Mum, just a tired, frazzled one. Lots of love and lots of praise for Daddy's better qualities (grit your teeth and lie if necessary) and it will be OK. Good luck.

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 29/03/2010 09:38

Morning, i am so tired today, i had an awful night sleep

Sorry to hear about your Grandad Jaq

Hope your feeling better today weegie?

Have had porridge for brekka

TotalChaos · 29/03/2010 09:44

Best wishes for today DEM.

Hells - I've found the humidity last week triggered off my knees again, does humidity have any effect on your joints? Best wishes for your appointment tomorrow.

VT - about to start my porridge in the microwave now (yawn). yawn both at porridge and at the morning, the lost hour is a killer, I overslept today as my body clock is still an hour out!

at least if the NW gets snow tomorrow I might stop having hayfever (/hopeful?)

Lizzylou · 29/03/2010 09:45

Don't wish for snow, Total!
I am in NW too and have had my fill of the white stuff (though appreciate you have your valid reasons for wanting a cold snap).
It was lovely yesterday, cold but sunny, felt all spring like, then I read we'd get bloody snow!
Aaargh!

TotalChaos · 29/03/2010 09:48

I'm not actively wishing for snow, DS's school shut for a week in January, and I was working 5 days, so that was fun sorting out leave and childcare....just more seeing a fringe benefit.

weegiemum · 29/03/2010 09:52

Everyone has stopped vomiting but me!

Dd2 never got it, she's off to school fine this morning.

Other 2 are on the sofa, wrapped in a duvet, watching Harry Potter!

I am going to lie down again, the room is spinning!

hellsbelles · 29/03/2010 09:55

Sazz I better not be pregnant!

TC - I've tried to work out a connection between weather and the pain...and I think it is a little better in lower humidity but not hugely.

I had to spend a lot of my last pregnancy on strict bedrest so I'm hoping that this is a temporary thing caused by that....as I'm sure inactive muscles for so long can't be good. Also I found some old threads on here where people mentioned similar pains for up to a year after breast feeding (which my GP has said can't be right but I don't agree!)...

What has caused your knee pain? Have you found anything that helps wiht that?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 29/03/2010 10:02

Hi all...

Specially thinking of DEM today.

Sorry about the illing weegie... It really is the worst kind of feeling bad.

I think I have started with hayfever TC. I am not enjoying anything from the neck up at the moment. I might try the local honey route.

I am busy again already so can't catch up with peoples posts properly, so I hope all else are well.

I started with a Hot Cross Bun, I wish I hadn't bought the packet, they croon to me softly from the kitchen, wafting their spicy lusciousness at me if I go in.

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 29/03/2010 10:04

I dont want snow but i want my bloody hay fever to go too, thats why i had a bad night sleep, i could not breath through my nose and it was irritating, cant stop sneezing today

hellsbelles · 29/03/2010 10:08

have all you hayfever sufferers tried Haymax article here a friend tried it when she was pregnant and has carried on with it as she found it worked well for her.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 29/03/2010 10:13

Step away from the hot cross buns Mits . . .

Today I have had a ham salad wrap for lunch (and a handful of choc buttons - thought they would taste better than they did so refrained from the 2nd handful - although am still desperate to STUFF myself with chocolate), a handful of nuts/seeds/raisins, some grapes and now about to eat steak and veggies.

Feel exhausted, it's my birthday tomorrow so am going to over indulge.

TotalChaos · 29/03/2010 10:14

Hells - thanks for the link, will check out boots/holland and barret and see how much it is. Re:knee pain - several years ago I badly sprained my hip, so was limping for a while, so I think I put strain on my knees to compensate. If it gets bad I take ibuprofen. Oh and I've found wine can be another trigger as well, oddly. The bfing link sounds plausible, as the pg type hormones can cause all sorts of problems as well as SPD from what I can gather.

ToccataAndFudge · 29/03/2010 10:14

I managed to add an entire malt loaf to my food intake last night.

So far today

1 coffee

MerlinsBeard · 29/03/2010 10:28

So......what is this cult of shiney ness? Is there some kind of sacrifial offering i need to make?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 29/03/2010 10:43

I am over £300 in credit on my Gas Bill! That covers the winter period. I have shed a little tear. No wonder the DC's complained about being cold-

If I can get it repaid into my account we can all have a little Easter treat !

MitsubishiWarrioress · 29/03/2010 10:49

Oh, damn good show Toccata.... not entirely bad for you either... perhaps have it as a regular thing if it something you like.

Hayfever article looks good when I get a chance to read it, The travel report should include congestion in Mitts's sinuses.

How young will you be claudia?

bellavita · 29/03/2010 10:49

Oooh treats Mitts

MofM - the cult is this - you have to get it included in a thread somewhere really randomly

ToccataAndFudge · 29/03/2010 10:51

Mits - that's great

I know that I've left XH with approx £600 of gas and electric bill.......it was due on the 12th March (I moved out on the 6th) and I did have a look at the online account before I cancelled the online service (was registered to my email address, with the username I set up) and it was, ahem, rather large.

Tough shit.

iggi999 · 29/03/2010 10:52

Morning. Not doing too well so far as have given in to the cookies on offer at breaktime. And going to acupuncturist later who clearly views my eating habits as something out of a Roman orgy. So preparing self for the guilt.
Hope you all have a lovely/decent/goodascanbeexpected Monday.

MerlinsBeard · 29/03/2010 10:54

Bella!

MyCatIsABastard · 29/03/2010 11:06

MOrning all. I'm feeling v virtuous as I walked DD to nursery and then carried on walking with DS in his buggy for another 45 mins. I'm hoping that'll make up slightly for the wine last night!

Also, found out this morning about DD's school. She got 2nd choice, but tbh it was a toss up between the 1st and 2nd choice and the one she got is actually her catchment school so probably just going to accept it.

weegie, hope your feeling OK (and try to think of the weight loss ).

DEM hope today goes well

Vin and TC, I'm sorry the hf seems to be getting you already. Hopefully the rain will keep it at bay for a while. My Dad has steroid injections every year for it. It's a horrible thing I feel for you.

Sazz, we all slept til 8 this morning. Bloody mad rush when we did wake up I can tell you.

Off for a coffee and some daytime crappy TV whilst I still can (6wks til I start work so I'm making the most of it at home!)

bellavita · 29/03/2010 11:08

oops - I didn't realise it had loads of other pics on too - it is just the pic of TWC that was needed.

Contactquestions · 29/03/2010 11:11

DEM - Sorry, wasn't trying to be a pain, trust me I read every word on that thread and discussed with DP, we now have a way forward and it is in great part down to your kind and thoughtful words. I was just being a pain and looking for even more sympathy than I'd already got

Have slapped myself now and the way forward is that we are ceasing this stupid war. DD is the most important thing. If he wants to feel he has 'won' by chesting her out of money etc then that's up to him and his conscience.

Everyone is wishing you good luck on the thread, me being a nob I have no idea why but - GOOD LUCK FOR TODAY. x

ClaudiaSchiffer · 29/03/2010 11:28

Mits I shall be 42 apparently. To be honest I'm not totally sure how that happened. One minute I was depressed at hitting thirty then whoosh here i am firmly middle aged. Ugh.

Contact, wise decision. It must be extremely hard to cope with a difficult ex. But your daughter will thank you one day for making it easier for her.

iggi, talking of Roman Orgy's, my 4 yr old dd asked me to feed her grapes in the bath this evening. I was . Enjoy the accupunture.
