New thread, same old plan.

We are a bunch of varying-in-size ladies (with the occassional male visitor) who all want to eat more healthily. We include those who want to lose 50 lbs, those who have already lost 50 lbs, those with only a little to lose, and some who just like to chat.

Come, post lots, and you will get encouragement, sympathy, and ass-kicking as necessary

Good night everyone.

(I've been dieing to put an x at the bottom of a post for ages now, I'm hoping I have not got it out of my system).

MyCatIsABastard · 25/03/2010 22:45

bloody hell, I clearly need my sleep

wastingaway · 25/03/2010 22:50

Mycat

JuJus, I never put milk in my porridge.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 25/03/2010 23:04

Wow Bof, what a fabulous trip for her. No wonder you're a leetle .

I've just had some home made museli, I find there is too much crap in the shop stuff (sugar and the like) so have spent a farkin' fortune on organic bits and bobs and goji berries in the hope that it turns me into a goddess.

Am thinking of buying that powder fibre stuff that you have in a daily drink - dammit, can't remember the name. Does any one use it?

BitOfFun · 25/03/2010 23:09

Be very careful, Claudia...it can backfire horribly

ClaudiaSchiffer · 25/03/2010 23:13

OH. MY. GOD.

YanknCock · 25/03/2010 23:20

Welcome all new people!

LBAM, I know what you mean. I saw a recent pic of myself with my baby group and realised I was 'the fat one'. But I've been this size for a few years now (ok quite a few), so I don't know why it's only suddenly hit me.

Bitter, yes you definitely need to eat breakfast.

weegie, I have the same goal (not to shop in Evans). I bought a really grim pair of jeans there just recently--why do they put so much lycra in everything?

Purplebuns, I am still breastfeeding DS (7mo). Aim for lots of vegetables/fruit, lean protein (chicken, fish), wholegrain if you eat bread, and try to have some legumes/pulses. I find making sure I have some protein with every meal or snack to be the best way of not getting hungry or making my blood sugar go haywire. If you are still exclusively feeding you need around 500 extra calories a day, if partially I think it is about half that. I do Weight Watchers online, and normally I would have 25 points (a point is calculated from calories and saturated fat). But because I'm breastfeeding partially still, I get an extra 5 points. If you did WW you'd get an extra point or so for being on your feet all day!

Alice, good luck at the scan tomorrow! Hope baby will be cooperative and show you the goods. We nearly didn't find out as DS wouldn't uncross his legs.

bella, how's the tooth?

mamazon, good to see you again, glad things are a little better.

DI, sorry things are not working out with the stepson

shiney, outfit sounds nice. I do hope the evening turns out better than expected and the 'b' word is never spoken again.

hells, that is a strange compliment, how did you respond?

Rollergirl, I vote 'arse' and think you should sing 'Midnight Train to Georgia'.

Sazz, are we all meant to be wearing bin liners now? I never can keep up with this fashion stuff

Jujus, I believe I might have been the first to point out the yucky chest hair. It reminds me of my high school boyfriend. He was also a long distance runner

YanknCock · 25/03/2010 23:25

I have been awol all day for good reason. I have knocked loads of things off my 'To Do' list with startling efficiency. We're supposed to be going down to London tomorrow but think we probably won't make it till Saturday.

I am going to have to spend time with my inlaws without DH (he is off to conference in France from Sunday to Thursday), which I've never done before. If anyone remembers the disaster that was Christmas, you'll know why I'm dreading this!

It doesn't seem likely I'll make it out to Gloucestershire, am disappointed but am sure another time will present itself. I'm staying 2 nights with my friend in London (to get away from inlaws), and spending Sunday with another friend helping clean up her new allotment. So only two nights on my own with inlaws (plus another 2-3 with DH there).

YanknCock · 25/03/2010 23:27

eek, sorry for my essays....I have missed you all day!

Will shut up now.

Oh, did I mention I had lunch with Bethandherbrood? Her computer is giving her troubles, but she intends to come back to the shiney thread once it is fixed.

Really shutting up now.

wastingaway · 25/03/2010 23:29

Sounds like an exciting trip for many reasons Yank.

Jaquelinehyde · 25/03/2010 23:29

BitOfFun · 25/03/2010 23:32

Check my fibre link a few posts ago, Jaq- that will give you a flavour of my week

Good to see you.

Jaquelinehyde · 25/03/2010 23:32

Oh and I weigh more than I did when I left just in case you were wondering.

Laugh...I nearly cried

wastingaway · 25/03/2010 23:34

Whoop! Hello Jaq!

I've been very non-diet, but am planning to weigh-in after a few weeks off in the morning and maybe re-reg with the Lord Ford.

Jaquelinehyde · 25/03/2010 23:34

Fibre link.....is this the pouffe? If so, yes I have been following...

If not I shall look into it.

Jaquelinehyde · 25/03/2010 23:37

Whoop, whoop back at you wasting I weighed in two weeks ago and was at 25st 10lb my heaviest yet.

Over the past two weeks I have made small changes , .

You get the idea, and I'm happy with that akthough I haven't actually weighted myself yet.

Jaquelinehyde · 25/03/2010 23:40

Maybe taht is a step forward...maybe I'm kidding myself

Tell me about the meet up...is it still happening?

wastingaway · 25/03/2010 23:41

I think it's difficult to go from binging to dieting without cutting down in between. Too much of a shock to the body.

YanknCock · 25/03/2010 23:48

jac!! Good to see you back. There is lots of discussion on FB re June.

wastingaway · 25/03/2010 23:50

I've stayed up to watch Fast Food Nation and don't fancy any more fast food ever, no thankyou please.
I may re-read the book.

Knowledge of food production as a method of dieting, anybody?

Goodnight.

Jaquelinehyde · 25/03/2010 23:50

Which is where I think I have been going wrong Wasting!

So maybe this time I can get below 20st...are we all on board? Yes we are.

Not sure when I shall weigh again, but it will be soon and you will me the first to know.

RougeBinDippers · 25/03/2010 23:50

Damn,Damn,Damn - I was hoping to get the last post on the the last thread.

Jaquelinehyde · 25/03/2010 23:52

Ooh Yank I shall have a look at FB in the next day or so to see what the low down is.

Jaquelinehyde · 25/03/2010 23:53
