Oh no, Sorry.

I was looking forward to the salad.

CoupleofKooks · 16/04/2010 18:34

more party food nibbling, i feel like a whale stuffed with pastry and cheese and sugar stars

in theory i am going to go out for a run after putting ds2 to bed
in practice i may just slump in the corner like a stodge filled sandbag

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 16/04/2010 18:37

and i keep burning all the mini quiches because i am trying to wash up and ds1 wants me to do a treasure hunt and the phone keeps ringing and ds1 is now saying "i won't be able to sleep till 11 pm because it's my party tomorrow"

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 16/04/2010 19:03

Mmmm, yum to mini quiches. Good luck with party preparations. Don't worry about ds sleeping, they are always late to sleep the night before a party/birthday/christmas/holiday. That's the way of it. He'll drop off eventually.

Right, off out for more salad as soon as my nails are dry.

Guadalupe · 16/04/2010 19:06

actually I have to wait for my cardigan to dry as well. I couldn't find it anywhere so raced over to the charity shop to see if they had one and lo and behold they have an almost identical hennes black cardigan for 3.99. Bonus.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/04/2010 19:09

I haven't taken baby lemur swimming yet. He went in the pool a few times when we were on holiday last year, but apart from a deep bath every night, that's about it

I can't face the cellulite and stretchmarks either - and that's just looking at myself!

The lemon curd cookies sound lovely.

Have had a bad f&v day today (although overall food consumption has been ok'ish). Baby lemur and I spent the day at my dad's - looking after him as he had an op on his shoulder on Weds.

custard cream
Italian bean soup with half a bread roll
apple
2 cheese biscuits
toad in the hole with onion and apple in the batter, and peas and sweetcorn.

Boco · 16/04/2010 19:09

Do you think maybe it was your cardigan, and you left it on your wall or something? Like your chicken purse.

Good luck with the party Franny! It was this time 3 years ago that I joined mn, and you had a big thread about what skirt you should buy for the party. I remember it loike it was yesterdoiy.

Guadalupe · 16/04/2010 19:12

I did think that, yes, Boco. To the point of nearly going up to the counter and saying but excuse me I believe this might be my cardigan.

I didn't think they would believe me so I convinced myself it was a bit shorter. Bit like Dogger.

Guadalupe · 16/04/2010 19:17

Oh, oh, I forgot about this story. In the Abervagenny flea market last week I saw ten pounds by a man's foot and he was rustling in his pocket.

I said have you dropped that ten pounds and I could tell IMMEDIATELY that he hadn't by his reaction and he went, oh, um, yes, there was one in my pocket earlier.

As he was speaking I had the horrible sinking feeling that I had had ten pounds in my pocket and I was standing there before and it was folded exactly as I do and I felt my pocket and it wasn't fucking there. What a nobboid I felt but I was too embarassed and I said, oh that's good and shuffled off.

Dh was furious and dd kept telling me to go and tell him it was really mine and she was really upset so I did. It was awful.

Boco · 16/04/2010 19:32

It was brave of you to go back though guad - what did the man say - did he give it back?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/04/2010 19:37

Yes, yes. What did he say?

I would have fumed about it but also not said anything

Guadalupe · 16/04/2010 19:49

He was really off with me and ummed and aahed, but I asked nicely. I said excuse me but did you check if you HAD lost ten pounds as, um, well, you see, I sort of lost one one right there.

He gave it to me and then came up to me later and said it was def mine as he'd phoned his partner and she said she had only given him 30 and he still had 30. Weird.

Anyway I got it back.

Right new/old cardi is dry. Must dash.

CoupleofKooks · 16/04/2010 20:21

oh guad oh dear
100 would love that story, we must send it to her telepathically as she'll never come on here

ds1 asleep
dp did it again
i really am much too tense about it
i feel a bit sick now even though he is asleep, i worry the whole time that he will have a panic and it will all go wrong

i did robcast week 3 - quite a nice one - the music is good, and there's hardly any intervals so when you have done one 3 min run you are half finished
i expect next week will be dreadful

Boco i know! i haven't got anything to wear tomorrow and i haven't had time to start a skirt thread!! something terrible happened to that skirt of great beauty, i bust the zip by wearing it when i was too fat for it, and i took it to one of those repair places
well i forgot to pick it up, it was one of those months, and after a month they 'dispose of them' (prob boot sale)
my skirt of great beauty is doubtless being worn RIGHT NOW by someone who doesn't appreciate its full loveliness

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 16/04/2010 20:22

all the quiches are burnt on top - it was parmesan and it's gone all brown
good job no-one comes to our parties for the food
(they come to see my nice skirt )

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 17/04/2010 08:40

i haven't weighed this week since monday - have suspicion i haven't lost anything or may have gained
oh well perhaps i will get a nice surprise on monday

am off to make mini pizzas and hopefully not burn them
party bags all done
friend coming with lights and amp and things
daft music on ipod
hopefully sorted????

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 17/04/2010 08:47

Sounds perfect. It will be a lovely party. We had music and a disco ball and bubbles for ds2, the children LOVED it and danced like mad things.

I want one of the quiches.

I have weighed myself and I am the same. I hope some of it is bloat from the vast amount of tapas and baklava and champage I consumed last. I have a headache.

And I am off to see Peppa Pig at the theatre in half an hour. Just what I fancy. Oink oink.

Hope the party goes well!

CoupleofKooks · 17/04/2010 08:53

oh oink oink, you poor soul

thanks guad - we haven't got a disco ball. i'd love a disco ball. we have got bubbles and a microphone and dancing games and a parachute. and burnt quiche. mmm

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 17/04/2010 08:54

oh and drumsticks for playing along to we will rock you! and big foofy feathers for mamma mia

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 17/04/2010 09:01

lol at feathers. It will be great. I love their birthdays. I don't think I thought much about them really when ds1 and even dd were small but now I really appreciate them, remembering when they were born and celebrating it myself rather than just putting a day on for them if that makes sense?

Not that I didn't enjoy it when I was younger, I just see it a bit differently now I'm older iyswim. Oh, I'm not explaining myself very well. Foggy brain.

I am having a hot stone massage at the thai wellbeing centre later. Cannot wait.

Boco · 17/04/2010 15:45

It sounds brilliant franny - love the sound of feathers and drumsticks.

Guad at massage.

I have lost a pound! Woooo hoo. But that's probably just the finger fat.

pointydog · 17/04/2010 18:33

I have lost one measly pound too. My tummy is so much smaller though, I felt sure I'd lost more than a pound from it.

I canot imaging that peppa pig at tne theatre will be much cop.

Guadalupe · 17/04/2010 18:53

God it was dire, and so bloody expensive. He loved it but I don't think it was worth the money AT ALL.

We saw Going on A Bearhunt at the theatre a while back and it was brilliant, really well done. The pupptet theatre is usually good here too.

I doubt I will have lost a thing this week. Two nights eating out. Steak and asparagus for dinner .

elliemental · 17/04/2010 19:21

hello, will cathc up on thread, been beside the seaside and it was fantastic.
except I went to try on some summer clohtes in town and wept a little weep because I tried on a Bench tunicy dress and some shorts and it wouldn't do up over my lardy arse and tum. Tis Boot Camp Big Time

But my my bike comes back from service on monday so that will help. And I will have gears which work and everything!

Guad, I cried at Daddy being MIA, I cried at the end, I cried at the little blond boy because he was so cute and lispy and my boys are all big now and I cried at the horrible dad at the War Office. (Er, 4 times )
But I was pre-menstrual, it seems....!

CoupleofKooks · 17/04/2010 19:56

well i was so busy i only had one and a half meals today so i might just claw a bit of weight loss out of that i suppose??
feathers were good i think! i bought them in a job lot from eBay a while back and use them for dancing things at my groups
they are giant and dyed various lairy colours

the lights and everything were fab! our very kind friend lent them to us and we just plugged an mp3 player in and that was it really
the children were a bit unsure at first but after we played some games they were well into it
we ended with the parachute and bubbles - i wish i had taken video of it but dp and i were both too busy - he had his hands full with ds2
i am feeling post party slumped but just hoping everyone had a good time and that it wasn't too loud and chaotic (i saw a bit of wincing from parents, but the children seemed to be loving it)

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 18/04/2010 14:25

right it has come to my notice that we aren;t doing brilliantly again this week are we? has anyone actually lost any weight? who is weighing in tomorrow? it sounds like a week of eating cake again for most of us (sorry i feel i set the tone wrt cake sometimes )
what do we need to get more focused? i am fearing my weightloss is tailing off and i don't especially want to eat less food

have done running, hurt my shin a bit but will be ok
that was wk 3 finished, am REALLY scared about wk 4 - that will be half way through the programme, which claims to get you to 5k, and the furthest i've done so far is 3 minutes
so i presume some nasty shocks are coming along any minute

going to another party this afternoon! then another 2 next weekend
must not nibble all the party snacks must not nibble all the party snacks
