I want the plum I can't have, and it's driving me mad - 10/10 thread with new added BOOTCAMP

Well some of us have strayed from the path of righteousness. Some of us have been off MN for a while. Some of us have got a bit porky apparently So this is a 10/10 thread with added extras.... the usual 10/10 thread remains (I think it's still going?) for people who want to eat more fruit and veg but don't need / want to lose weight.

The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. This is a kind of splinter 10/10 thread, the focus IS on weight loss / inch loss, as well as improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being, but the idea is to do this by eating healthily and getting more exercise, rather than anything drastic, cutting out food groups, etc. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

oh man, Toot! Bad form to bring others into this?
And you know I love you like a sista!

IAmTheOneAndOnlyTooT · 19/03/2010 19:00

Franny, you don't get it, do you/

Ellie, bad form probably, yes.

Okay, I'm off. i would reset my homepage if i knew how. mn sucks.

IAmTheOneAndOnlyTooT · 19/03/2010 19:11

And Franny, i didn't suggest you were doing this to make me cry, but i clenched my jaws until my head nearly exploded to make sure that i didn't last night.

Right. i am gone.

Boco · 19/03/2010 19:38

Sorry you're hurt toot. I can see the reasons why a different diet thread would be really helpful though - but that mean that we can't all chat to you on the other one, or a new one, or whatever you'd like. Tbh i've not seen you on mn for ages - i did try posting on the other one a while ago but no one replied for about 3 days so assumed it wasn't being used much anymore.

CoupleofKooks · 19/03/2010 19:39

there's really not much more i can say about this
i'm sorry that you feel - i don't know what -

that i have been cruel, is that right? I'm sorry that you feel that.

you know, for someone who "hates unpleasantness", you have certainly stirred up a load of shit

i'm going to go and do something more pleasant myself - but i am coming back later - because i really really really need some help with losing weight
hence the thread, which is really, TooT, about me wanting to lose weight and needing support to do that, and not actually dick all to do with you

OP posts:
Boco · 19/03/2010 19:40

I mean that DOESN'T MEAN we can't chat to you on another thread. Grr.

muesli
chicken and tomato sandwich
spaghetti with tomato, courgette, onion, red peppers

AND THAT IS ALL

But I have wine and chocolate so about to ruin this.

CoupleofKooks · 19/03/2010 20:14

ok i am sorry about the angry bits of my last post
sorry TooT, i was feeling angry about what you said
i hope you are ok, it's good to hear you are recovering
for myself i do need a thread to talk about losing weight and i hope this can be it

Raisins
punnet of raspberries

2 ibuprofen

hello
i had a bit of a poor day for eating to lose weight i think
really good food though - veg curry, homemade peshwaari naan which was FABULOUS, poppadums, mango chutney, rice, then waitrose banana muffin OMG very nice indeed

then cheese on toast for tea as just quick and peckish - unimpressive

i am going to have fruit and veg for snacks later though, and hope i'll get away with the carbfest earlier

no exercise, but sat around chatting and bfing a very grumpy ds2, who is about to fall asleep in his highchair...

ds1 sat and read a book quietly to himself for the first time today!! he CAN read, but usually WON'T (except for swear words on MN, obviously)
i didn't say anything in case i jinxed it, then at the end he said in a surprised voice "i just read myself this book"

Just to let you know that I haven't dropped off of the side of the earth, and that I'll be back next week when I've got my 'eating sensible food' head on

CoupleofKooks · 20/03/2010 18:22

hello moveit! we were going to get together weren;t we
sorry i lost touch
how is lovely ds?

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 20/03/2010 18:32

No problems Fra. Sounds like you've been a busy bee. Like teaching ds1 to read - how wonderful

You line about a grumpy ds2 falling asleep in his highchair made me lol. Baby, or I guess I should now say Toddler Lemur is v well. We're now letting him loose in the back garden and he loves it. The freedom, the dirt, the toy car. He's in toddler heaven. The only downside is he's so active that when he's tired he crashes in dramatic style. One minute he's fine, the next minute he's hysterically tired.

There are some pics of him on my profile which you can see I think.

I'm helping at a Nearly New Sale tomorrow so I know I'll spend the day existing on cake and biscuits So, Monday is the day to start.

CoupleofKooks · 20/03/2010 18:41

ooh he's a darling still
the cheeks

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 20/03/2010 18:45

Hello Lemur and littleR.

Cereal
grapes
raspberries
orange

scrambled egg on romaine leaves
tomato and veg soup

rice cakes and houmous

tofu and mixed veg stir fry

Orange in a minute

Rooibos and 2 Rich tea before bed

I am finding it helpful to decide what I am having in advance, especially with snacks.

Guadalupe · 20/03/2010 18:46

oh and 2 choc covered dried apricots and a glass of rose

forgot about that
