Just off to bed, Malmaison in Manchester is nice as well and there are some new Boutiquey hotels now.
Have only been to Balls and stuff at the Midland, never stayed (ooh get me, all work related and v boring.).

Hazel Grove is nice, Shiney, were you part of the Cheshire Set?

I stayed at the Midland for one night when I went to see Take That a couple of years ago. The man that owns the chain of hotels comes into the pub where I used to work with his chauffer for a drink on a Friday night - really nice and down to earth and he got us a room cheap. We literally used it for crashing and nothing else - oh and a few glasses of wine in the room before and after the concert.

bellavita · 19/01/2010 21:07

No Sazz - she fluffed her way through it and said all she had to do was eat less.

Mamazon, agree with Shiney. He has the look of a man with a small knob.

Ruby, WW do a white and a rose wine, but it can be hard sometimes to find it reliably. Asda has been doing the 250ml bottles 3 for £4, and Tesco often has the full size 750ml bottles. You can drink an entire full size bottle for a mere 6 points. Not that I would know this from experience or anything

The reason they are less points is due to being low alcohol, they are about 9%.

We stayed at the Malmaison for a friend's Hen Do, they were fab with us. Booked us a table last minute at a lovely restaurant on the Friday night syaing "These are very important guests of Malmaison", which we were v chuffed with.
Most hotels just can't be doing with Rowdy Hen Dos, but the staff were great and we all had a sing a long with Fragma (Of "I need a miracle" fame) in the bar at the end of the night.

bellavita · 19/01/2010 21:12

Where do you think the middle is then Manchester? or York as Squeezy lives in Scotland doesn't she?

stockport is not part of the cheshire set Only after you get past hazel grove do you get to the welcome to cheshire sign or at least it was last time i was aresed to look Stupid post office decided it was part of cheshire. Schools all used to be all funded by stockport not cheshrie and diff application processes etc. Careful where you utter those phrases lizzy battle lines are drawn pretty tight round this neck of the wood.

It really is a bloody small world. was the grove just a mere blip on your course to world domination shiney? - or could you just not wait to escape like most people
