Poor thread title, I know....

I think this is our 39th thread and we are still going strong. Our leader Shiney is well what can I say.. just bloody fab.

We do like a lot of cock and cake chat with lots of healthy stuff thrown in too.

We welcome any one who wants to join our thread - just one rule, post post and post more!

ha ha...DH just spilled his whiskey (celebratory 'man can fit toilet' whiskey) from falling asleep watching TV. Poor dear, obviously plumbing was too much for the lad.

Poledra - I hope your DD sleeps soon and the toe nails are not too bad tonight. I have no doubt that DS will soon be in bed with us too, but he sleeps on top of the covers in his sleeping bag (top tip) so no toe nails for moi.

I'm off to bed now. Goodnight everyone.

DreamsInBinary · 14/01/2010 23:08

Night all

iggi999 · 14/01/2010 23:12

Squeezy remember I am only a little bit pregnant, as the woman in that annoying clearblue ad says.
Mitts you sound very chilled which is lovely. Must say (year post DS aside) my 30s have been way happier than my 20s, and hoping 40s (coming soon) will be even better! I don't mean better things happening, I mean your attitude about life/yourself etc.

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 14/01/2010 23:16

PMSL, the sproggers

TrillianAstra · 14/01/2010 23:17

Ha ha MyCat - DP values his whiskey too much to ever fall asleep with it. I agree that fitting toilets and similar is: a) man's work b) worth celebrating

Oh Iggi, you are only a little bit pregnant, but you are having a baby. You're growing a human being!!! I am very much in awe of people who grow humans inside them and say it's no big deal

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 14/01/2010 23:21

Did someone not say it was like pushing a melon through a keyhole?

I too am in awe of the 'sproggers'....

Adoption is suddenly sounding really good!

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 14/01/2010 23:27

Right, I am off to bed. DH bought me this book called The Charlemagne something or other....it's dragging and I only started it a few nights ago it's all a bit Dan Brown, symbols and meanings.....might have to bin it for the murder mystery FIL got me for Christmas.

G'night all

iggi999 · 14/01/2010 23:32

Me off to bed too. Been nice talking to you all, calmed me down a bit!

BitOfFun · 15/01/2010 00:32

Oh, I'm sorry I missed the pregnancy news- how fantastic! HUGE congratulations, that's so wonderful

I hope thesecondcoming pops back to our thread- she was our first sprogger, I think!

Mitts- love your interior design for SN familes idea- DP thought it sounded great! He's great with the artistic, and I'm great with the autistic

Sazz- we will have to swap details, email me on bitoffun1 @ yahoo.co.uk, I might well be able to meet you for lunch if I can!

My Ikea trip was fan-bloody-tastic, btw- have got absolutely everything for total room perfection, even a perspex frame the exact size I need to protect the tv, and some other bits to make our adult's sittingroom a bit fresher. Have utterly battered my mum's creditcard, but we have a realistic plan to pay her back, so it will be ok. Very excited to take pics at the weekend and drone on tell you exactly what it's like when it's finished- life should get a bit easier

bellavita · 15/01/2010 06:36

Morning

It sounds like you had a most productive night BofF

I am going to take my yogg brekka to work with me this morning (rather than shovel it down before I go) and hopefully I wont be starving by 11.00am

jetcatisfrozen · 15/01/2010 07:42

morning all

huge huge congrats to Iggi - you will look extra stunning on your wedding day now, with a lovely radiant glow

at the talk of which is the best age - i have convinced junior that i am 24 for so long now, i actually have to count and work out my actual age

Day 4 of logging everything with food focus, and i think it is going well - heres hoping for a better weight loss this time round

Lizzylou · 15/01/2010 08:00

Morning all
BOF, it all sounds fab, can't wait to see the pics

Am exhausted, DS2 was very restless last night, went in to him a few times, then he got in our bed at 5am and fell asleep cuddling me (aaahh), which gave me a dead arm.

Off to do school run soon and then have 2 hours to MN work before preschool pick up and then swimming lessons.

DH is booking us on to the Swimathon, I did 2.5km one last year and it was hard, but OK. He's booking us on as a team (with DS1) to do 5km. DH is a v good swimmer though and DS1 swims very well now, we may even get DS2 in his armbands doing a length!

Sazz, would love to come and meet you in Manchester, next week is going to be a bit tough though for me, will see what I can do.

Have great days everyone

DreamsInBinary · 15/01/2010 08:15

Morning everyone

What a lovely thought, Jet I'd forgotten the second trimester glow. Iggi, you will be GORGEOUS!

BoF, I love a satisfying shoppng trip. I've said it before, but I'm deeply envious of artistic ability. Interior design is a total anathema to me.

bellavita · 15/01/2010 09:01

I have just eaten my yogga brekka and can confirm that Tesco 0% yog is just not as good as the Total one.

OP posts:
Alicetheinvisible · 15/01/2010 09:05

Morning

Iggi - congratulations!!!!!!! Is this your second dc? I lost half a stone when pg with DD and was still wearing normal clothes at 4months, but with this one i am now 9+3weeks and look pg. I think you may need to think about how comfortable your dress will be when you are 3 months, reguardless of whether it looks like it fits iyswim?

Trills - your DP could join the slatterns

DH and i went to La Tasca last night, and i had;
Bread with olive oil and vinegar
Potatas Bravas(sp?)
Baked cod topped with caramelised red peppers and onions
Half a stuffed romano pepper (not that good actually)
Lemon and Cava sorbet
Sparkling water

Not too bad, but was so full it hurt

wastingaway · 15/01/2010 09:10

Morning all.

Iggi!

Bella, shame about the yogga. But you don't know if you don't try.

Well, we survived the night. It had dropped to 12.9 C in DS room when DH went in at 6.30, but I didn't want to leave the little electric heater going all night. I'm sure the electrics in this place are about as good as the plumbing.

Plumbers just rang and should be here at 10.30. It's a big job, as he has to take the toilet out and rip up the bathroom floor to get to the pipes, but hopefully not a long one.

bellavita · 15/01/2010 09:21

Sending warm thoughts to you wasting - to warm you all up Hope they fix everything soon for you.

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 15/01/2010 09:22

what a lovely evening I missed.

Iggi - HURRAH! What amazing and happy news.

Mitts - I love your post. So chilled and sounds like things will happen to you very soon (relationship wise) - they usually do when you are feeling so sorted.

I have lost half a stone in 2 weeks ladies! I was tipping 11 stone after christmas excesses and this morning after my phase 1 (2 weeks) on the South Beach I am 10 stone 6 lbs. And I do feel really good. My jeans are doing up and I have lots more energy (also helped by the fact DD is sleeping much better!). I wish I could carry on with the strict phase for ages as I would probably get down to 10 stone in a couple more weeks but the books says NO! So I will behave and move onto the next phase 2.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/01/2010 09:34

Iggi - many congratulations.

Shall we move this to ante natal topic We are keping on going until May 19th, if not by then then we weill call it a day and DH will go and get the snip. However I have two DC's and yet to feel the pain of contractions.

DD only woke once last night when her duvet fell off so I feel that was a legitimate wake up call. We are off to go and see Joseph again today as she enjoyed it so much.

And lastly some very sad news. Our lovely Parish Priest who baptised both DC's went into hospital yesterday to get his shoulder pinned after a fall and passed away.

Lizzylou · 15/01/2010 09:50

Fanny, that is sad

Iggi, yes, Jet is right you will have the glow of pregnancy, you will look radiant. One word of warning, make sure your corset is adjustable/expandable, as i was a bridesmaid at 12 weeks pg for a mate, lovely corset which a week before the big day fitted me great. In the week before the wedding my breasts expanded by I don't know how much (my mate calls me the porn star in her photos ), it was a very uncomfortable day, I couldn't breathe. So it was the bump but the boobs, am sure you can get something which will be a little more forgiving, or even a v good dressmaker who can adjust at the last minute.

Hells, well done you!
I think I have lost, but will weigh tomorrow, everything feels loser iyswim

This morning so far has been a total nightmare, black ice all up the massive hill out of our estate. Got half way up, slipping all over the place, cars abandoned but lots of icy, sleety rain so couldn't abandon car and get the boys out (it was too icy to walk anyhow). Three blokes pushed us up the hill in the end, my heart was pounding out of my chest, and I was shaking.
Have just got down OK, was wondering whether or not to bother, but have done and it was OK, ice appears to have melted.

Phew!

bellavita · 15/01/2010 09:53

Hells - how fab (might have to look into the South Beach diet myself!

OP posts:
FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/01/2010 09:54

Can't beleive you are all still struggling with snow and ice. The company who are going to do our pond phoned yesterday and asked if we would want to get cracking once the snow has gone, in reply I did say what snow and there was a stunned silence on the other end

FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/01/2010 09:55

Forgot to say congrats Hells.

wastingaway · 15/01/2010 09:55

Thanks Bella!

Blimey Lizzy! Driving sounds scary.

Hells, well done!!!

Five,

Poledra · 15/01/2010 09:56

FiveGoMadInDorset, I've always assumed you have 5 DCs! It is so sad when someone who has had tha sort of involvement with your family dies. I was brought up a Catholic and, while I do not miss the 'formal' part of the religion, I do miss the community and caring that goes with it.

Not a good night here - DD3 kicked and wriggled and coughed all fecking night. She's in for a big shock - this afternoon, I'm rearranging the furniture and she's going in with her sisters (her cot is currently in our room). I was planning to wait till DH finished redecorating DD1's room, so DD1 would move into her room then DD3 would go to share the big room with DD2. However, I can Take It No Longer, so she's out!!

BoF, I need you to come do DD1's room for me. I have no artistic qualities whatsoever, so interior decoration is a nightmare for me. Mind you, all DD1 wants is pink, pink and pink - where did I get such a girly girl??

Off to take DD2 to swimming lessons - if I were a Good Mummy, I'd take DD3 in swimming too but since I'm not, we'll sit and have a drink and a chat with some of the other mums, and DD3 will run riot round us.

Tara.
