Poor thread title, I know....

I think this is our 39th thread and we are still going strong. Our leader Shiney is well what can I say.. just bloody fab.

We do like a lot of cock and cake chat with lots of healthy stuff thrown in too.

We welcome any one who wants to join our thread - just one rule, post post and post more!

Tinned tomatoes, but I would imagine that roasted cherry tomatoes would be nice.

Lizzylou · 14/01/2010 19:57

Bella, am just saving you from yourself.
Don't want you puking me lovely

Lambanana, are you LIverpudlian by any chance, those quirky sculptures? Sorry, for being so rude.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 14/01/2010 19:57

Indeed we do have new facilities. DH is going to attempt to fit the sink tomorrow. We had no intentions of getting a new bathroom but went into B&Q last yr for some paint and they had this clearance sale on - go the toilet for £15, the sink for £10 and the bath for £10. Unbelievable so we had to buy it. The new taps for the sink cost more than the whole suite!

Yank - I'm v pleased to hear about DS's big poo! I was in a state about DD one Xmas eve and got the neighbours daugher round (not just for the hell of it, she is a GP). SHe went up to Ailsa, who gave immediatelhy gave her a massive fart and belch and then all was well with the world. V embarrassing! I'm much more chilled with DS

Chicken in Honey and Mustard (low fat) with mushrooms, courgettes and peppers for tea tonight. Just waiting for DS to stop messing about and go to sleep and we will be tucking in.

iggi999 · 14/01/2010 20:01

Hi Bella, hi everyone
Some more bloody snow today, but thanks to lovely rain it hasn't lain.
Have bought another Twilight book (no.3) to read tonight. Am such a teenager

hellsbelles · 14/01/2010 20:09

you are a teenager Iggi - but I too have had a (very quick) read of those badly written but strangly addictive books

Bella, bella, bella - I knew it was you yesterday (but then you denied it so got me all confused). I think you are the nicest person I know (RL & virtual included)...you are marking your place in heaven as my grandmother would say

Fanny - fab news on the full nights sleep - which method did they get you to used. I tried to find your post about it but couldn't for the life of me track it down.

Waves to everyone else as too tired to catch up!

Supper tonight - roasted chicken breast, Ratatouille and green beans.

And t/m I can have some wine. YEAH YEAH YEAH

traceybath · 14/01/2010 20:12

Hello all - have had dreadful tummy upset earlier. Thought I was going to be sick and so DS1 age 5 decided to follow me round to see what happened .

Anyway - still snowed in but phoned council and they're going to come and grit my road and give me a grit bin so we can do it ourselves in future - hurrah.

Yank - glad baby better.

Hells - gradual retreat. We have a cushion which we sit on and every three days it gets moved nearer the door. If she wakes up, we take her back to bed tell her nicely that it is sleep time and then sit on the cushion until she sleeps and 10 minutes beyond. We also use the sleep fairy and have a box which she leaves notes in saying well done if she sleeps and a few pennies and a 'could try harder' note if she hasn't. DD has really taken to this idea rather than a reward chart as seems much more real to her. Fingers crossed for another good night.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 14/01/2010 20:21

Shiney - WW works for me online BUT if you don't go to the meetings it is very similar to Lord Focus.

BelleDameSansMerci · 14/01/2010 20:23

Sorry, had to nip off to get DD to bed; and have just stuffed face with brocolli cheese. Now want something else... It's not good. The freezer is calling. I'm sure there is cherry ice cream in there somewhere.

lambanana · 14/01/2010 20:25

Hi everyone. I am not so much trying to lose weight just get a bit more healthy really but good luck to everyone in their quests.

Lizzylou · 14/01/2010 20:26

NIce neighbour, Shiney.
I think we should all be thawing out soon, so hopefully we'll all be back to normal.

I only did WW once, but couldn't stick to it because I kept getting it confused with slimming world. I know of loads of people who have loved it and done really well on that plan.

Loads on the thread too.

Me too... I am reknowned for my "cherry" thing. I even have some tattooed on my bottom (oooh classy ).

I'm not trying to lose weight really but I do need to eat much, much more healthily. I eat nothing but delicious things crap.

YanknCock · 14/01/2010 20:52

Shiny, I do WW online but am not a great advert for it as far as losing weight! I like it because I like being slightly obsessive and geeky about the tracking software. It has nice weight tracking graphs, decent interface for tracking your food, good database of brand name foods that seems to get updated a lot.

That being said, I find WW does work for me if I actually do as I'm meant to and write everything down. I'm normally on the computer a lot or at least have it on, so not hard to keep the tracking window open and just add to it when I eat stuff. It's a little hard going at first, but you get good at judging approximate points of things if not near a computer to check.

I think Quidco has something that if you sign up to WW through them and stay a member, you get some money back after 3 months.

DreamsInBinary · 14/01/2010 21:02

Yank, have you looked at Our Lord yet?

It sounds v similar, but is free

I have just watched that diet programme on C4, and am inspired. They dieted for two weeks, and lost between 5lbs and 12lbs I know that weightloss is not sustainable in the long term, but wow. Makes me wonder why the hell I haven't been stricter before.

Will just finish this wine, and then I'll start...

FiveGoMadInDorset · 14/01/2010 21:11

On the other hand WW online does have recipes and is all pointed for you which makes it alot easier.

dearprudence · 14/01/2010 21:15

Mmmm... cherries.

I made a fab chocolate and cherry amaretto tart at Christmas. Regretting it now, of course.

wastingaway · 14/01/2010 21:18

Lizzy, plotting to steal all Bella's baked goods.

Yank, phew re: DS big poo.

I've signed up to WW online a couple times, but it never lasts.
It's a good system, but not my style.
Agree that it's very similar to Lord Ford.

Poledra, thank you for the offer of the radiators earlier. The gas fire is on and we've a fan heater upstairs, so we're good for tonight.

Despite all the stress, I haven't snacked today.

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 14/01/2010 21:20

Catch up tomo. Night.

wastingaway · 14/01/2010 21:23

Night Chaos!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 14/01/2010 21:23

Hope DS is OK now Yank. DD ended up in A&E in Novemer as she was screaming so much that her tummy hurt. Same thing.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 14/01/2010 21:35

Five..I hope your sleep thing with LO is the start of an improvement. It is awful and so draining...

BoF...you should set up in business as an interior designer doing rooms for families with DC's with SN.. it sounds like you are having fun and creating a fab place for the DC's to be.

I have read the thread but am madly tired.

I had my hair cut and am very chuffed, It is not quite as extreme as I had thought but the H'dresser was ace and we discussed styling it for a future 'do' IYSWIM.

Yank, sorry also about baby yank, poor mite..

Tracey.. I hope you are feeling better. I HATE feeling sick.

Hi to Belle and Lambanana...

I saw my first Gormly exhibition (The Field) in Liverpool at the Tate. I did a series of paintings based on the docks, they are awesome. I must return someday...

Poledra · 14/01/2010 21:37

Evening all. Have just had a piece of Christmas cake I didn't want but am trying to eat it up (My lovely mother brought it at Christmas, DH and the DDs not big fans and I hate throwing away perfectly good food ).

Yank, glad the baby's OK. DD1 was bfed and suffered from constipation - the health visitor showed us this reflexology thing, which I was not convinced by (sceptical medical scientist, me) but worked a treat. We would rub her feet as shown then she'd poo between 20 and 80 minutes afterwards. Did on a friend's little boy when he was suffering, and she phoned me in disbelief after I'd got home to say it had worked for him too (though she wasn't quite so happy about the volume of poo he'd produced ).

Shiney, well done on escaping the gulag - what is it you're doing in your new job?

Can I come round Bella's garage please? I really feel like going out for a drink....
