Poor thread title, I know....

I think this is our 39th thread and we are still going strong. Our leader Shiney is well what can I say.. just bloody fab.

We do like a lot of cock and cake chat with lots of healthy stuff thrown in too.

We welcome any one who wants to join our thread - just one rule, post post and post more!

Oh Georgi... what a start.

BoF, your room is ace. The art work is fab, - there is a mad Japanese cartoon/film on every Christmas that just blows me away, but it I can't remember it's name. It is like Alice In Wonderland but more, the parents are turned into pigs..... Anyway. you have every right to be chuffed with yourself.

I am AFing again, no wonder I felt like I did last night...s'not fair

Aaahh never mind. I am going to paint this morning as I went to bed so early last night. Few more cups of tea and a kitkat and everything will be coming up roses!

Lizzylou · 17/01/2010 09:32

Morning all, will have a look at your room in a mo, BOF.

Georgi, poor you! Hope he gets better, perhaps he'll have a nap for you later on?

Ended up going to bed early and watching the most shockingly shite film, a teen movie which had us strangely gripped, even though we'd guessed the entire plot after 5 mins, Ice Princess, it's crap.

DS2 woke in the night and then came into bed with me at 5am, he just won't stop. I've asked him why he has started doing it and he said it is because he wants to sleep with me and loves me, I think it has to do with when he was poorly and i slept on his floor. He is sweet, he just gets into bed, grips me in a bear hug and says "Mine" whilst kissing me.

I feel knackered and achey though!

hellsbelles · 17/01/2010 09:49

BOF - how amazing. I am in awe. And your DD is a lucky young lady to have had such a beautiful room made for her.

Georgi - you poor thing...muchos sympathy.

and Lizzy - I bet it's hard to be cross with DS2...though tiredness is a killer he sounds like he is being utterly gorgeous!

Georgimama · 17/01/2010 09:59

Morning all, he's fine, not ill at all - he's an absolute fruitbat (although also shares my weakness for chocolate) and he just had too much fruit yesterday. Bleurgh.

Have sent DH to entertain him for 10 minutes by constructing manly Thomas railway together.

Lizzy your DS sounds just like mine - yesterday morning we were playing a game where he was pretending to be a wizard and "magicked" me into a monster. After some growling and roaring on my part he said "Now I magic you back into my beautiful mummy". Made me cry

I just glanced through what I missed on the old thread and saw you spelled out your name for me so I will request you as a FB friend if that's OK - my first name is Helen.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 17/01/2010 10:04

labia feels like a Klingon's nose'--TMI perhaps? Too geeky?

I am not sure if you want to be reminded of saying this Yank but tears are streaming down my cheeks.....I don't suppose it wil make it to quote of the week but it ought to.....

I like the Ferenghi(sp?) Lovely big lobes !!

MitsubishiWarrioress · 17/01/2010 10:05

I am not sure why it has come up as a link though

Georgi, have just seen your request.
Gawd is there noone on this thread who is not gorgeous? YOu have such a lovely face, not looked at all your pics yet!

DS2 is as arsy and tantrumy as he is loving though so it balances out, he makes me weepy frequently though (sometimes in frustration)

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 17/01/2010 10:21

MOrning all. ooh I do love a hangover. they are made all the more enjoyable by babies and 4yr olds. And, even better, DH works on a Sunday so I've got the extra fun of hangover with DC on my own. Thank God we can go to my mum's today! Meal out at friends was lovely though. SHe did this gorgeous butternut squash soup with garlic and ginger, it was mouth wateringly good!

Georgi - you have my full sympathy and understanding re the hangover.

Yank - love the klingons nose description. v funny. say it to the receptionist, I dare ya!

Lizzy - that's so sweet of your DS, although, I guess a tad annoying at 5am.

Sazz - last time I tried tiling it was a hideous mess, however, I am determined to give it another go just so I can say I've done my bit in the bathroom

And, yes can't remember who asked, but MrMyCat doing the bathroom is saving us £400 in getting it fitted. He is a bloody star!

I've just joined food focus! I've done WW for nearly a year and it's been good but I can't get going on it again so I thought I'd give the Lord (as I believe he is called on here) a go. I've got 1471 calories a day and have had 317 for breakfast. I've put down to lose 2lb a week.

ItWasntTheBigBang · 17/01/2010 10:26

shineon - our regular who had a nanny issue?

Bof fab room!
-just word of warning - those aliens can get broken if chucked hard enough -ds threw his down the stairs and its not quiet right inside (odd edges can be felt now). And they can be tricky to connect to the power cables but they make fab night lights and it seems to take a lot of effort to break properally. ds have a blue one and i have a green one. used to make dealing with up most of night kid more bareble than turning on light

I am off to Jodrella Bank today. thought ds would like a nice trip out.

Georgimama · 17/01/2010 10:29

Ha! As soon as I searched and your profile pic came up I thought "oh crap she's really pretty". Shallow? Moi?

That's the best photo of me in a while, and was taken on my 30th last year when I weighed about a stone less than I do now. Current photos not so good.

I've requested to join the Shiney group too, I know jac is lurking about but may not see my request. I'm nice, honestly.

Fab!

traceybath · 17/01/2010 10:34

BOF - room looks lovely.

Georgi - eeuuhh - DS2 did that the other day - it was truly vile.

Is it wrong that DS1 is playing a new game of pretending to be my cleaner - he's hoovered the play room, hallway and sitting room - may get him to mop kitchen floor next.

Shiney - are you still feeling motivated on your diet?

I did lots of trying on of my clothes yesterday to try and encourage myself to lose those final few pounds. However am slightly worried that when i reach my goal weight I'll still think I need to lose more as am in danger of getting obsessed.

Am going for a run in a minute - so will probably manage about 100m before falling over as haven't really run since way before ds2.

ItWasntTheBigBang · 17/01/2010 10:36

Nah -enjoy it! It is character building and part of your role as a parent to make him, 1. house trained and 2. independant!

FlamingoBingo · 17/01/2010 10:42

I'm in a really bad mood.

Things that are pissing me off:

  1. DH deciding to take up yet another hobby
  1. Birthday party of little girls, the parents of whom have caused huge problems within our local HE community by the wife thinking the DH is having an affair with another mum and then spreading the rumour around and dragging as many people into it as possible and then twisting the words of anyone who is kind to her. Dad has been a twit but not, I think, unfaithful. However, girls are friends with the birthday girl but they didn't bother turning up to DD2's birthday last year and we heard nothing from them for months afterwards. So I don't want to take them. AIBU? It's 40min away.
  1. DH's parents and brothe rhaven't been bothered to tell me if they're coming to DD2's birthday party next weekend even though I emailed them last week and everyone else has responded already. This is not unusal though, but really pisses me off. They didn't come to DD3's party because they had to do Christmas shopping, and only came to DD4's because DH managed to make them feel guilty (not on purpose!). They did come to DD1's. AIBU to think they can't come to some a n d not others? Isn't that rather harsh for the girls?
  1. Girls have just run upstairs leaving their recorder stuff all over the floor and their orange peelings.
YanknCock · 17/01/2010 10:44

Georgi, sounds awful. Try WW fruity wine, doesn't have the same hangover potential because it's joyless low alcohol. A very mild buzz can be achieved by two large glasses (4 points).

Fanny, at your lovely sounding lunch.

Mitts, sorry to hear about your 'visitor' (god that's really an annoying euphemism isn't it?)

Lizzy, awwww...your DS sounds so sweet. Maybe not at 5am though....

I am still trying baby steps with the FLYlady to get my house in order. Started making a control journal last night (before I was sucked in to isketch).

YanknCock · 17/01/2010 10:48

FB, I'd be tempted to make up an excuse and skip the party today. Sounds like too much drama. But I know nothing of these party politics yet!

Does seem a bit bad for family to come to some parties and not others, but do the kids actually notice which adults are there or are they more focused on the other children?

FlamingoBingo · 17/01/2010 10:51

They love PIL and usually want them to come. THey're too young yet for them to notice, but DD1 will probably start noticing in the next couple of years.

I have done flylady on and off and it's really good when I can stick to it.

Georgimama · 17/01/2010 11:03

Ooh, Yank there's a children's party thread going on in AIBU right now. Have a look - these things are a scream.

FB - in all honesty pain as it is I would take them to the party. It's not the children's fault they've got a nutter mother and it probably isn't their fault they didn't turn up to your party either.

ItWasntTheBigBang · 17/01/2010 11:04

FB - skip party. If there are party politcs consdiering 1. parents behaviour and 2. their approach to your dd's party it will really show their worth if things kick off. If necssary smile sweetly and suggest that you sent a text/email saying you were unable to go due to , did they not get it?

Yank - dont worry about having to redo fly baby steps. she says it took months or redoing to get it right. I am staying back with baby steps on monday. I have day off.

FlamingoBingo · 17/01/2010 11:12

OMG I want today to end!

  1. DD2 keeps hitting DD1
  1. DD2 is naked, won't get dressed and is whining becuase she's cold
  1. I kindly lent my fucking brother all our screwdrivers when he moved into his flat months ago so he could build all his new furniture. He still hasn't given them back despite repeated requests and DD2 wants the batteries changed in her camera but I don't have anything to take the batter cover off with. I just rang him and he answered the phone saying 'what? I'm asleep'. Fucker! Asleep at 11am??? He doens't know he's fucking born!
jetcatisfrozen · 17/01/2010 11:29

Hi all, georgi and flamingo for your tough times. FB - i wouldnt take them to the party, but then i always look for a way out

Bof - your room is amazing

Shiney - how is WW going?

Lizzy - i caught a bit of that film last night - parts of it when she was skating looked like it had been sped up! May have been just my tele though

Chicken dinner today, but trying to do it a bit healthier, and not with the loads of roasties i normally do. Fanny, that chicory and apple mash sounds lovely!

FlamingoBingo · 17/01/2010 11:38
  1. I've kindly said I'll make them a treasure hunt, but I'm now being berated for not doing enough clues

Anyone want to come and take over for the day?

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 17/01/2010 11:42

Hiya ladies

Tidied all the house this morning. A new start to a new week with hopefully some healthy eating to boot.

Bof the room is great, bigged you up on your thread

Lizzie, your wee boy sounds adorable, well apart from keeping you up but what a little sweetheart

isketch was fun last night, Yank is hilarious and Binary is a shark, I think she won every game
