BofFun

I am so pleased you got the flowers yesterday (I was a little worried as I had received an email from M&S to say there had been considerable snowfall in your area and they may not be able to deliver), but they came good in the end !

You always have a smile on your face whatever situation you are presented with and you truly are an inspiration.

With love and best wishes x

Poledra · 14/01/2010 10:19

I want to know who sent BoF flowers, so I can suck up to them tell them how nice they are.

BitOfFun · 14/01/2010 10:21

I think she is in our midst

Am feeling very smug - I have managed to keep to my resolution of doing at least One Useful Thing each evening (other than the normal things of feeding the DDs, putting them to bed and cleaning up the kitchen and putting a load of washing on). So far this week I have
-done all the ironing

-paired the socks (a task I normally leave till the DDs are running out of clean ones)

-tidied and hoovered the livingroom

-found online and bought a new light fitting for DD1's bedroom which will sit properly on the sloping ceiling

-paid the council tax and AA membership

  • returned the radiators our friends lent us when the heating was on the blink (with a little bottle of something nice too, of course)

-cleaned the downstairs toilet (got to do big bathroom tonight)

-sorted and filed some of the paperwork lying in the kitchen

If I keep this up, I might actually get some time to do something nice with the DDs tomorrow (when I don't work) rather than running around trying to fit all the housework in. Or I might get some time to MN, not sure which.....

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 14/01/2010 10:32

Awwww What a lovely thing to do, those flowers.

We have LOADS of snow here today and it's still going. Roads are a nightmare.

Toast for breakfast. Lunch will be soup with no bread.

I might dabble in some apostrophes (?) today so do correct me if I get any wrong

Lizzylou · 14/01/2010 10:35

Aaaah, penny has dropped.

If you are who I think you are, I agree with BOF, even if not, I agree with BOF

Lovely lady.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 14/01/2010 10:40

Morning all.

Sazzles - Boo! I CAN SEE YOOOOOOOUUUU!

Mamazon - As I was typing the link it occurred to me that it had to be someone from here. Some of it really made me laugh.

Poledra - bloody well done. I have written a list of jobs to do and am crossing them off one by one. Makes me feel v satisfied.

Squeezy - you be careful with those apostrophes/e's. They frighten the life out of me (I like to play with brackets, and commas in inappropriate places),, )) myself).

Poledra · 14/01/2010 10:45

So, musing a little on my list, does anyone else hate pairing socks with a passion? The bastard things hide themselves, the children have socks the same colour but in slightly different sizes, DH has a habit of keeping single socks when one of a pair wears out and using it with another similar-but-not-identical sock The whole thing drives me insane.

Would it be unreasonable to allocate Pairing Socks to nearly-6-yo DD1 as her chore?

DreamsInBinary · 14/01/2010 10:50

I think I know who it was now, but will have to scroll down and reread a certain post very closely. I agree with the love-in concensus - you are both SUPER.

DreamsInBinary · 14/01/2010 10:53

Yes, hate pairing socks. DH and I wear the same size socks, though, so I pair all the nice black properly-pairing ones first, and then randomly pair the rest for him.

Do I win Wife of the Year?

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 14/01/2010 11:23

I hate pairing socks. I have a bag with odd ones though and feel a sense of satisfaction when I pair one that's been odd for ages

I MUST not get involved in controversial threads, walk away, walk away...

....repeat 100 times.

TrillianAstra · 14/01/2010 11:24

Dp is not allowed to buy any socks where the pattern is the same as any existing socks. We've got lots and lots of Next/M&S mens black socks with a coloured toe etc so they can get paired (he has big mens socks and I have small mens socks). I really hate plain black socks because you can never find 2 that show the same amount of worn-ness.

Lizzylou · 14/01/2010 11:24

Am with you, Squeezy, sucked in now.

Need to do some bloody work, am just sooo cold.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 14/01/2010 11:25

We have a sock eating monster in this house. It is very stealthy and never seen but only likes to eat one of a pair of socks. That has to be the reason as there is no other place that all these single missing socks can go!

DIB - I let DH pair his own socks unless I'm feeling extra nice or want something

I have no idea who the lovely person is who sent BOF the flowers. I would make a bloody useless detective.

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 14/01/2010 11:36

Trills, same amount of wornness.... Too true!

wastingaway · 14/01/2010 11:37

Morning. I appear to have a leak. In fact it appears to be the same leak we had when we first moved in. DH has rung landlord who says plumber will ring me. They'd better get a shift on.

Weetabix for breakfast.

What's the controversial thread?

wastingaway · 14/01/2010 11:37

Oh and for lovely floweriness.

hellsbelles · 14/01/2010 11:43

is it Sazz??? I want to know nowwwww

bellavita · 14/01/2010 13:00

Hello

am working a little extra today, so just sat having a bit of a break in the little post room behind the reception.

Where is Shiney? Wonder if her school is open and she has gone to work?
