Am giggling at you lot discussing my garage - tis where we keep the beer and wine supplies Trills

am ing at you Sazz!

Your tea sounds lovely Mamazon.

Mamazon · 13/01/2010 20:15

i've got gas so it goes in at about mark 5/6 for 25/30 minutes.
not sure what that is for electric.

i like the veg to be crispy at the edges but soft and gooey in the middle so i put them in a little earlier and cook them for about 20 minutes before adding the chicken.

im not very good at following recipe's and my cooking is very much a case of guestimation and trial and error.

you can change the type of cheese you use too if you like.

Lizzylou · 13/01/2010 20:21

OOh no, love Gruyere.

Sazz, I am the same everything gets cooked at 180c in this house (scept sponge cakes and goose fat potatoes).

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 13/01/2010 20:22

That sounds delicious Mamazon Who was it that had fish with pancetta last night, was it Hells? That sounded lovely too.

YanknCock · 13/01/2010 20:45

I'll volunteer to liberate some wine from bella's garage! I'm down to my last bottle of Weight Watchers joyless low alcohol wine and can't afford any more until next month. I think there's two little bottles of white that I had to use for cooking, I will probably drink them in desperation.

Tonight marinated lamb in yogurt, curry powder & crushed garlic, then put on skewers with onion wedges and grilled, served in warm pitta with yogurt-cucumber-mint dressing. Very good, but a lot of faff with the skewers. I should have bought lamb leg and cubed it myself rather than buying pre-diced stuff...too many little pieces so ended up stabbing myself with skewers trying to get it all on. Had mediterranean veg and oven chips with it.

Lizzylou · 13/01/2010 20:48

Yank, that does sound lovely though.....

Love lamb.

Hope your fingers are OK

Yep, think that was Hells, Squeezy. Have supported you in your SNP live debate as well (as long as it's a young Sean Connery)

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 13/01/2010 20:49

Oh that sounds lovely too Yank.....oh and fingers crossed for your asbestos situation!

If we're talking about liberating stuff from Bella's....I wouldn't mind liberating a cake or two.....but then I'd need wine to wash it down

wastingaway · 13/01/2010 20:54

Yank's, Mamazon's and Hell's dinners all sound luvverly.

DH has brought a bottle of Pinot Grigio, shall be emptying that shortly.

bellavita · 13/01/2010 21:09

I made some brownies yesterday morning and I took some into work with me (only for certain people) they went down a storm - this is the first time anyone's sampled my baking, I think they liked it!

Am just flicking through an old ww magazine and there are a couple of nice looking recipes. Think I will add the ingredients to my shopping list for Tesco online which is coming tomorrow.

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 13/01/2010 21:10

See.....Bella's is the place to be!

Lizzylou · 13/01/2010 21:12

Bella, be a doll and bring some into the garage, we are starving in here and need something to soak up all of this wine.....

Knackered, off to bed, night all

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 13/01/2010 21:12

I said I was gonna improve my grammar and punctuation so when I said "Bella's", I wasn't sure if I put the apostrophe in the correct place? I need a book on this so if anyone has any recommendations, gimme a shout please

Lizzylou · 13/01/2010 21:13

Some Brownies, sorry, wasn't specific.
Actually any of your baking would be good, Nigella.

BitOfFun · 13/01/2010 21:14

Have been pressing on with the room- will be assembling some flatpack later, so a leetle vodka may help. Have got the tv working in there now, sans perspex so far, but we still can't get rid of the kids . Will kick them up to bed shortly I hope. Ten minutes MNing and FB with a coffee now, I think...

Can we get a pic when you're done BoF?

bellavita · 13/01/2010 21:17

Night Lizzy - you lot do crack me up

I am no good assembling things BofF...

I ain't sure about apostrophes either Squeezy.

bellavita · 13/01/2010 21:21

Oooh, yes, pics of the room would be good BofF.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 13/01/2010 21:23

Evening all. Today has not been a good (read healthy) eating day - homemade pizza, mini chips, KFC chicken wrap, KFC chips, packet minstrels, packet maltesers, 2 teacakes. Now drinking a glass of wine and wondering how I can also get into Bella's garage and pinch some more.

Yank - I'm glad the clothes arrived and are fine. I'm pleased to know another cute chap is wearing them.

Shiney - what a wank thing to have happened re your boots. You might be able to claim on your house insurance actually. I had a camera stolen from my car and it was covered under portable possessions on the house.

BOF - How lovley to get roses.

I have just had a laugh reading some of the proposed top ten MN threads. Loved the one about the Oxo Tower.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 13/01/2010 21:26

How lovely to get roses. Very .

Well finally went to my WW meeting and have put on 4lbs since I was last weighed on 9th December which I think is not ad. Have just had a massive stir fry and not a lot of rice for supper with some chicken.

Off to have a bath and bed and hope that DD sleeps.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 13/01/2010 21:27

QUICK - come with me to look at the this thread here from someone claiming to have found her DH shagging the car

I am trying to think of something appropriate to say..

Unless its one of you lot having a laugh and you know all about it.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 13/01/2010 21:54

Blimey everyone, didn't mean to scare you all off.

TrillianAstra · 13/01/2010 21:57

Flatpack is fun BoF...

hellsbelles · 13/01/2010 21:58

Bella - can you come and work with us? We need homebaked brownies (when I"m off phase 1 of my diet of course )

Yank....that sounds delicious.

Fanny I think 4lbs over the whole christmas and new year period is pretty darn good - I hope you get a good nights sleep - it's so bizzare when you do (after deprevation) - you feel like you can do everything!

Now I have to catch up on the last 15 mins of CBB (on C4+1)

Night all...

DreamsInBinary · 13/01/2010 22:00

Squeezy, I adore Lynne Truss's Eats, Shoots and Leaves. I think it's a bit of a marmite book but I loved it and learnt a fair amount, too.
