Evening

Shiney - i would be fuming!

Chicken kiev, mash and cabbage for dinner. Was alright, but have a horrid taste in my mouth atm that doesn't go away, tastes like i have spent the afternoon sucking coppers! (make of that what you will you dirty minded lot! )

House is a fucking tip atm, cleared the sitting room this afternoon but now DD has emptied every toy box out, DH is going to think i have done bugger all!

bellavita · 13/01/2010 19:02

Lizzy, believe me, you wouldn't be very comfortable in there. There ain't no room for nothing! 4 bikes, fridge freezer, boxes of beer, small lawnmower for the front, large one for the back, all the recycling stuff......

My DH lurves stews/casseroles with dumplings as do I and DS2 (DS1 hates them).

I enjoyed my small portion of spag bol and large portion of brocs and cabbage (going tobe windy around these parts tonight ).

Alice, that's what small children do.

bellavita · 13/01/2010 19:03

why did I say fridge freezer... tis just a freezer and my drier is in there too.

hellsbelles · 13/01/2010 19:07

oh yummy suppers. Mine was OK....homemade greek meatballs, left over cannalini (Sp?) bean salad and a mint, cucumber, radish and feta salad.

So much chatting this afternoon - gutted I missed it all!

Shiney - what idiots. I know how perfect and cosy Uggs are in this weather (and how expensive) so really gutted for you. And Jonny sounds like he's getting a teeny bit stalkerish doesn't he? Surely when you've been told 'no more' you would have more pride than to call up. Haven't you got caller display? Maybe don't pick up his calls for a while till he gets the message.

Bella - you must be looking gorgeous to get 'touched up for free'. I have never heard of a garage doing that . Very impressed. And no matter on all those clothes not quite being right (problem of internet shopping). It leaves all the more for when you are shopping in good old London Town

Trills - hope your swollen gland behaves itself...have you dosed up on all your vitamins and stuff to try and ward it off.

And Squeezy - very envious of your bingo night. A friend at my old work arranged a night out for us once at a bingo place. I thought I would hate it (trying to be cool and all that bollocks) but of course I loved loved loved it. But that you had no rhyming during the calling....surely it's the law that there should be some non-pc bingo calling going on.

BOF - Roses! How lovely. And yellow which is such a classy choice. Wish I knew enough to guess who they are from (I took the diamond clue to be either Shiney or Bella as well). I"m stumped.

Will try and read the links later but should at some point talk to my DH.

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 13/01/2010 19:09

Alice would it help to see a pic of my bath? you lounge cant look as burried as that is at the mo . Seriously take it easy. He knows you have been feeling bad, and he should understand the destructive nature of a dd on a toy tipping mission - if not he needs more daddy dd alone time.

Btw wasting what the hell is birkenstocks?

TrillianAstra · 13/01/2010 19:15

Sausage and mash for dinner. Trying to think what I can do that's nice adn easy and quick on Friday night when I have some girls coming round. Will have to be chicken I think cos one doesn't eat lumps of meat. The yoghurt/mushroom/leek sauce could be a winner.

TrillianAstra · 13/01/2010 19:15

Greek meatballs sound lovely Hells - what makes them Greek?

bellavita · 13/01/2010 19:17

Mmmm they do sound nice Hells

Lizzylou · 13/01/2010 19:18

Bella, as long as I have room to sit down and raise bottle to mouth, I'll be fine.

Hells, your dinner sounds gorgeous....

Chaos, Birkenstocks are those footbed sandal things, very comfy.

Alice, was going to make a joke about Shiney knowing all about sucking coppers but I think that'd be crass....

Mr Gum is a v good kids book isn't it?

hellsbelles · 13/01/2010 19:19

Mitts - birkenstocks are sort of sandals that have a special sole that is good for your foot. You'll see them everywhere in the summer

Trills - I got them out of the south beach recipe book...and I think they are more greekish than italian because they have lots of oregano and Feta in them to flavour them. Quite good apart from the fact I had to use very lean beef so not quite as tasty as they could have been if using a fattier mince.

What's with the friend who won't eat lumps? Does she have dentures

I think we all need to decamp at BofF's for a love fest and have a nosy at her yellow roses!

Dumplings stodgy? - you need to taste mine - light as a feather.

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 13/01/2010 19:25

Still clueless lizzy. My shoe collection consists on one pair gardening trainers, one pair normla trainers, on pair green dunlop wellies, on pair work shoes (ballet style) and one pair work shoes with heel, and possibly a pair or two of flip-flops if i can find both shoes for a pair Oh and a pair of snow boots

Ds has just read a usborne farm yard tales story. it was like pullng teeth getting him to finish is but he did it with only help on the odd word. serve the little toad right to refuse to read school reader. 16 pages of hard instead of 6 of easy.

Lizzylou · 13/01/2010 19:25

OK Sazz, you hardly take up much room with your size 10 ass, hope you like red though (have nabbed the white).

Or, as Bella says, she could put the cases of vino in her car and we could go and chill in BOFs new room and admire her tits roses?

TrillianAstra · 13/01/2010 19:26

She's an ex-vegetarian (for not-liking-it reasons rather than health or killing-stuff reasons). She likes fish, but I don't, so it's pretty much chicken or fully veggie.

I'm also considering doing a nice big risotto so we can just have big bowls of steamy goo.

TrillianAstra · 13/01/2010 19:30

What's this, a bottle of wine each and a curly straw?

Lizzylou · 13/01/2010 19:31

Chaos, ah Appletree Farm, how many times have I read that line "This is Mrs Boot the Farmer, she has two children called Poppy and Sam and a dog called Rusty"?
Never thought about DS1 reading those books, ........mind you, am sure he knows them all by heart.

Birkenstocks, you can loads of types

Lizzylou · 13/01/2010 19:32

You in, Trills?
Gwan, you're a youngster, we're drinking the Bellavita garage dry!

CAn I come too? I am not supposed to be drinking but I could manage a virtual one (or 5)

Trills - risotto sounds lovely

Mamazon · 13/01/2010 19:37

chicken breast, some Gruyère cheese on top and then wrap in panceta.
very simple and easy to cook but tastes lovely.

serve with some roasted winter veg.

just cut it up all chunky, slap over some olive oil and sprigs of rosemary and then bung in the oven.

easy peasy

TrillianAstra · 13/01/2010 19:41

Mmm, I want to eat at Mamazon's house.

Yeah, I'll help the garage-drinking. Was actualy thinking of opening a bottle of red in RL. What's it in aid of? Does it all need to be cleared out so that garage can be cleaned/painted/whatever/

hellsbelles · 13/01/2010 19:42

Mamzon that sounds lovely - what temp is it best to cook it on and for how long (I'm rubbish at instinctively knowing that sort of thing).

Lizzylou · 13/01/2010 19:44

That does sound gooood, Mamazon.

Trills, no Bella just has more than her fair share of wine in her garage so we thought we'd liberate some!
