She's 3 , nearly 4 and very very dainty.

my friends 20 month old Ds weighs 4lb more than her
I took a photo, but only when we got in. Thought it would be extra odd me standing on Islington High Road taking a picture of a 'baby' in an ikea bag. Someone may have called the police haha.

So what is everyone up to this afternoon?

I'm thinking about doing some potato printing - could be fun.

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 13/01/2010 13:03

Have you ladies seen this weird thread.....my use of the word weird is an understatement btw!

YanknCock · 13/01/2010 13:07

tracey, I hope we get the same deal as your sister for our kitchen! It desperately needs updating but we can't afford it. Asbestos could be our friend.

BOF, reading your description of your DD2-proof room brought back memories! In the U.S. I worked with a lovely (but very challenging) 16 y/o lad who needed his flat specially adapted. Cork panels on the wall for soundproofing (so he could yell without disturbing neighbours), specially made protective cabinet for his telly and radio (which he was liable to smash quite often), lots of other good stuff. He was fab, really came a long way with good staff and routine. Recently heard from my friend that still works for his care agency that he was asking after me, even though I haven't seen him in about 8 years! He told her to tell me he was 'being good' despite the fact that he was at the safe house with specially trained care workers because he'd been beating up his regular staff! Thinking about him really makes me miss doing care work.

Lizzy, very of your spa session.

Vinny, YANBU. She sounds like an idiot.

Fanny, hope your DD is feeling better.

MyCat, the package arrived today, and it's all fabulous! The majority he can start wearing now with a few things to save for a couple of months' time. Thank you so much!

I'm waiting in for the asbestos testing people today. So far doing well on diet front, lamb pittas tonight from the WW cookbook.

SazzlesA haha it's bad isn't it?

I couldn't find a bunny clock so took advice from on here- I bought some star shaped fairy lights that re pinned along the ceiling on one wall.

They are set on a timer so they come on at 7am and go off at 7.30pm. I've told them when they re on it's fun time, when they go off they must be in bed.

It's really worked.

BitOfFun · 13/01/2010 13:19

Oh I LOVE the idea of an Ikea bag sledge- very inventive And very funny thinking of the dumpster gag

Vinny, you did see my overgrown bush- I'm surprised you were too polite too mention it. The one that the neighbours have so far been too polite to mention. Must get the shears out once this snow has gone.

Yank- you must have made a real impression

Right- I know I will look at that weird thread because once it's been linked here it's the law, but I musn't MN all afternoon. I've done bugger all today after thinking I could go back to bed "just for an hour"

BOF, he made quite an impression on me too. I keep thinking about applying to do respite care on weekends, not really sure how it works in this country though. My agency had a scheme where you'd have an adult or child come stay with you for the weekend so their regular carers had a break. Maybe I could ask on the special needs board? Even doing casual sitting in someone's home would be fine--I have the impression that parents with children with special needs find it hard to get sitters, but could be wrong.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 13/01/2010 13:44

That thread is a bit but not unbelievable IMO. But then I know some very strange people......

So, you and me shiney at the 'shiney thread party', teetotal, wearing our wrist warmers and gurning at the drunken young uns! Surrounded by a harem of odd men..

hellsbelles · 13/01/2010 13:46

urghh - been so busy at work I've had to force myself not to login and now have only jst had a chance to skim read.

Sorry to all who've had crappy nights (literally in some cases - poor you Fanny) and those snowbound. Quite unexpectedly DD slept through...and I have boundless energy which is so rare these days.

BOF - room stuff looks amazing.

I'm a bit grumpy about the diet...after quite impressive weight loss it seems to have stopped....a DF did it twice and said second time I didn't work as well...I'm wondering if it is cause I'm older - anyway I shall perservere till Friday.

Better go.

Lizzylou · 13/01/2010 13:46

I am, old, dull as fuck, but am a piss head on occasions......where can I go?

Squeezy, well done on the Bingo winnings.

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 13/01/2010 13:46

Hope you are off the phone now.

TrillianAstra · 13/01/2010 14:16

Whoops, the snow intereferes with your phone line - get a bit of tinfoil!

TrillianAstra · 13/01/2010 14:24

I have a gland on one side of throat.

I proabbly have one on the other side too, but only one is making me aware of its presence. This is probably not a good sign.
