Shiney, get back into your pj's and have a duvet day. Try not to stress.

VinegarTits · 13/01/2010 10:10

BOF you didnt show me your overgrown bush, and i wouldnt have wanted to see it anyway (you really show trim that, how does DP get in? )

SO can i expect an invite to watch movies and drink wine then BOF? the room sounds fab

We had a light dusting of snow when i left this morning, i hope i dont come home to inches of it grrr

VinegarTits · 13/01/2010 10:13

I second the duvet day Shiney, you can snooze on the sofa while ted watches Cbeebies like -i-- do on these days

Ds2 asked if we were having a 'snuggle' day today, when we got up this morning. I bloody wish!

bellavita · 13/01/2010 10:17

I can bring Ferrero Roche with me Vinny (and wine). Have a huge box of those chocs in my wardrobe...

VinegarTits · 13/01/2010 10:26

You bring the chocolate the Bella

i will bring olives, crips and nibbles, and more wine

What shall we watch? might as well sort out the movie now too

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 13/01/2010 10:27

I'll bring even more wine

Think we managed about 3 bottles each when I stayed at BOF's - some beer too.

Can't be sure though.

I know we had two bottles within a couple of hours of meeting in the city centre.

bellavita · 13/01/2010 10:34

Something along the lines of Bridget Jones type of film Vinny - but hey - I am easy going, so you choose . I will just be happy to be in yours and BofFuns company

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 13/01/2010 10:38

OOOhhhh Bof. That rooms sounds fabulous! Your DDs are lucky they have such a crafty mum and get a cool room like that to play and hang out in! Can we see a pic when it is finished?

I need to tell you guys about the bingo last night! Was brilliant fun. SIL won £100 and then 2 seconds later, £51 which we split so £75.50 each! I think it's a bit against protocol to show your excitement but I couldn't help it and was high fiving SIL and making a fuss, heart was going like the clappers!

Jet - you are right about it being embarrassing calling out when you have won. SILs face was bright red and mine was bright red on her behalf

Was impressed with all the technology, all computerised and fancy. Although I must admit my disappointment at them not saying rhymes for the numbers.....I wanted clickety click sixty six etc etc but they don't do that these days apparently.

DreamsInBinary · 13/01/2010 10:45

How fab, Squeezy

[Envy] at virtual party at BoF's

DreamsInBinary · 13/01/2010 10:45

The envy emoticon just looks cross.

Poledra · 13/01/2010 10:47

See, I tihnk the envy emoticon works better as a nausea emoticon - that look you get on your face when you just know you're going to be sick but are trying not to be.

(Sorry if there are any emetophobes here)

DreamsInBinary · 13/01/2010 10:56

I had never even heard of emetophobia before coming on MN.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 13/01/2010 10:56

MOrning everyone. Lots of snow here today and lots of people thinking they can drive like they're on a race track. It's not as if we haven'te had a couple of weeks to get used to it!

BOF - room sounds lovely. We've been looking at that sofa for the conservatory.

Five - that's not so good with DD. Hope tonight is better.

Last night DS slept from 6 til 4.10 but then woke up and stayed awake til bloody 5.30! I think to be honest the cat woke him up but I could have done without it! He's now having a nap and I've got lovley pain in the arse DD wanting me to draw chickens and parrots with her.

Shiney - I feel your pain. I despair sometimes. My brain must have shrivelled to the size of a walnut. I used to have a v good job and be in charge of loads of people. Now I'm chief backside wiper and skivvy! When I'm stuck in with the kids it gets even worse.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 13/01/2010 11:38

Five.. what a crap night. It just makes you feel like pants.

I have strangely developed and inability to deal with my DC's being sick so have to tend to them with a wet flannel attached to my mouth. Whilst apologising and doing an entertaining mopping up process with one arm!

I can't do duvet days. I am too much of a wriggle bum.

wastingaway · 13/01/2010 11:42

Morning all. Snow's well on it's way out here.

Squeezy, Bingo sounds a right lark! I'd be bright red too. Triple-checking I'd got all the numbers right!

BoF, your room sounds wonderful. We have the Klippan sofa, in a bright pattern. I think they are excellent value too.
One of DHs mates has completely gotten rid of his tv and just has a projector and screen in his tiny little London flat.

At my old college we had a large 'performance lab' (basically a large dance hall, like a school assembly hall I suppose) and one wall was a projection screen. When noone else was in we'd stick DVDs in. 20feet high projections of Sopranos etc. Felt overindulgent.

I've had muesli with banana and semi-skimmed milk for breakfast.

wastingaway · 13/01/2010 11:46

Ah Mitts, you need a special quilt like we had when I was a kid. It buttoned up the middle and then around the arms and one between the feet. I would shuffle round the house while keeping toasty.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 13/01/2010 12:03

wasting, that might about do it, although with one of these sofas I might just be tempted to indulge!

jetcatisfrozen · 13/01/2010 12:22

hope the school opens soon shiney, and you manage to get Ted into his nursery. I think our snow has mostly gone now - fingers crossed

I havent done a proper catch up yet, so will read through posts and post later

But i hope everyone is as well as they can be, given the snow, school closures, poorly children etc etc

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 13/01/2010 12:28

Well we just treked out for a bit - neededfags milk

I made a fab 'sledge' from a big blue Ikea bag with cushions in the bottom and DD's skipping rope as a handle to haul them along.

Ds loved it but then decided stomping and making footprints would be more fun - within 2 mins of him getting out DD fell fast asleep all curled up in it.

I must have looked a real sight trudging around sainsbury carrying a ikea bag containing a small child.

VinegarTits · 13/01/2010 12:29

AIBU to want to slap my work collegue who keeps looking out the window, willing it to show!

She lives 5 mins from our office so hasnt had to take 4 days holiday already cos of the damn stuff

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 13/01/2010 12:31

p.s squeezy I love bingo!
I used to take my nan to Gala whenever I went back home, she called it 'the poncey bingo hall'.

We once won just over £2000, I swear her reflexes are better than mine as she leapt up and yelled house before he'd even finished reading out the number.

VinegarTits · 13/01/2010 12:31

i mean snow not show

VinegarTits · 13/01/2010 12:33

TDWP, maybe people thought Ikea had a sale on small children

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 13/01/2010 12:37

Ha ha, I got some funny looks on the way home too. Especially when I put her on the floor so I could wrestle DS's hat back on.

We were right by a big shop dumpster bin - I thought about pretending to put her in it- but that was just in my warped mid haa. Would have been great though.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 13/01/2010 12:47

TDWP...get a photo, that must be sooo cute..
