wasting, I'm tentatively hopeful that we've used up all of our bad luck for the year right at the start. Nothing bad happened today, and our hedge has sprung back to life after we knocked all the snow off it. Asbestos testing people coming tomorrow.

However, if you'd all like to place bets on what will break next that would probably be a quick earner. My money is on the washing machine.

DreamsInBinary · 12/01/2010 22:14

I am sulking a little because I missed Syc. I was beginning to think she was merely the stuff of legend

If you are reading, Syc, I only started eating Total regularly after this thread. I too like the longlastingness but I'm less keen on that paper bit. I would quite like in in fromage frais sized six-packs (although appreciate this is v bad for the environment) and have yet to see the fabled 2% one that everyone here loved. The recipes on their website are great. It's often on offer in Tesco, which I like (feel as though I'm getting a bargain when I save 13p, or however much it is )

wastingaway · 12/01/2010 22:15

At least you're getting a breather at the moment though Yank. What result are you wanting from the asbestos test?

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 12/01/2010 22:17

Hi Yank - just got a message saying got the money on paypal. You didn't need to give anything for packaging, that was kind. Hope you like it all (btw, its only ever been washed in ecover as DD & DS have sensitive skin and ecover is the only thing that doesn't set it off).

Chaos - aha . THere was me thinking it had some special ingredient in that cleaned bogs better, when in fact it is just crap to clean... er... crap, really!

tracey - how old is DD? I had to get my DD off just bf for nursery when she was about 9mths old. She would not take a bottle at all so we put her on a beaker and then topped up with lots of yoghurt and cheese for calcium.

traceybath · 12/01/2010 22:23

Cat - DD will be 6 months in about a week so still purely bf.

My supply is good and I've just in the last week stop needing breast pads - hurrah.

God knows what she'll make of a bottle but am going to try as really want to go to this wedding. Its nearby so I could come back to do bedtime feed if necessary.

May try a cup though - good idea!

Trills- I could so eat some chips now.

VinegarTits · 12/01/2010 22:24

oh i dont have shiney shiney hair, its just the flash from the camera

TrillianAstra · 12/01/2010 22:28

Let's ask BoF - she'll back me up. Shiney reflective 'cos I'm worth it' hair.

VinegarTits · 12/01/2010 22:28

oh you that hair, yeah thats my wig

TrillianAstra · 12/01/2010 22:30

They were only thin chips, not good fat chips.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 12/01/2010 22:32

tracey - I started with the beaker (with a spout) at around 6mths I think, just to try and get her used to it. SHe actually drank better at that point though from a cup. She was ebf too. I wore pads for months with her as well, I used to wake up in lakes of milk for months! Also, with DS I found the First Years Breast Flow bottles were the best to interchange between bottle and breast (although I took the inside bit out of the teat that they have). Not cheap but good.

If we're talking about hair I bet noone can beat my lovely barnet (see my profile photo's)

YanknCock · 12/01/2010 22:33

well....if we have asbestos it means the whole ceiling has to come down and get re-done. If not, they will just patch it and re-skim the whole ceiling. So not really bothered either way, because at least I will have a flat ceiling instead of this horrid swirly textured crap.

The insurance guy seemed to be saying if we had asbestos in the walls too we might have to get a whole new kitchen, but I'm not clear on whether they would be covering all of it. That seems too good to be true. Will have to clarify that when we get the result (should be available in 1-2 days after the test).

So in short, not really sure what to hope for!

YanknCock · 12/01/2010 22:37

goodness MyCat.... that hairdo is hard to beat

DH unbelieveably did his 'are you on MN' catbumface thing, so I had to set him straight. Four days not on here is an eternity!

wastingaway · 12/01/2010 22:39

No, not sure what would be best. Still, you'll either get a new ceiling or a new kitchen, whoever pays for it.

TrillianAstra · 12/01/2010 22:40

Lovely hair MyCat - lots of volume!

wastingaway · 12/01/2010 22:41

Well, I am hungry.

So I'll go to bed.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 12/01/2010 22:41

Cheers Yank. It is rather lovely isn't it.
Funnily enough my DH just gave me a look and said 'thought you weren't going on tonight'. I wouldn't mind but he's watching Stargate on Sky, so hardly being the breat conversationalist! Hope you get the right result on the kitchen.

VinegarTits · 12/01/2010 22:41

fabulous hair mycat

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 12/01/2010 22:43

breat??? great

TrillianAstra · 12/01/2010 22:43

I like Stargate. Well, I did back in approx 1997-2002 anyway.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 12/01/2010 22:44

It's a tad Marge Simpson, but worth the effort

YanknCock · 12/01/2010 22:49

My DH was moaning because he wanted a snuggle, but he fell asleep before I got over to the sofa. Sending him to bed now, can't hear the TV when he snores. Bless, he's trying to wait up for me to finish expressing so we can go up together.

traceybath · 12/01/2010 22:52

Yank - my sister had a leak in her bathroom and got a totally brand new bathroom fitted via her insurance. Very handy as they wanted to update it anyway.

Its snowed loads already here - so am snowed in yet again. Really very very dull now.

Georgi and Sazzles - you're both down my way - how goes the snow with you?

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 12/01/2010 22:59

tracey - I'm v near Sazzles so must be by you too, it's snowing here, had about 1cm so far. It's fairly light. Hope it doesn't hang about too long for you.

Night all.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 12/01/2010 23:00

Trills - I love stargate, although not that fussed on Stargate Universe.

ANyway, I've def going to bed now. Night

DreamsInBinary · 12/01/2010 23:01

Mmmm, lots of lovely snow here

There won't be enough to close the roads, but it will be 50/50 whether the nurseries are open.
