Alice - hope you are OK.

Supper tonight, steak, jacket potato and peas.

hellsbelles · 12/01/2010 20:01

Bella - they are monkfish fillets (so relatively small pieces) and I do them for about 25 mins (but next time will do 30 mins). I wrap them in pancetta slices which seems to make them extra yummy.

Right off to watch the start of series 3 of The Wire (then celebrity BB - what a life I lead )

Alicetheinvisible · 12/01/2010 20:02

Night everyone, off to dream of pink fondant fancies

bellavita · 12/01/2010 20:13

Night Alice.

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 12/01/2010 20:22

Just looked at the mners want to be. me thinks i need as widely more stable life and exciting things in it....

Actually i would settle for an extra 46hours in the next 24 hours period or a snow day [boring]

Ds has just driven me mad and i am now excused from bedtime. Grannie is reading the one story. Although he has just figured out he can read most of it himself. he has his confidence back so chuffed. Going to do planning and tackle the paperwork pile of doom...

Alicetheinvisible · 12/01/2010 20:24

Keep wanting to call them French fancies, but think that could be something else entirel BOF?

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 12/01/2010 20:26

Hello everyone. Just catching up.

Alice - I'm glad things look a little better. Hope you have a good nights sleep.

Five - hope all goes well tonight with DD

Chaos - why the cheap diet coke? I shall give it a try.

Shiney - I'd definitely be asking about what hte complaints were.

And on the subjects of bleacn and fondant fancies (not on the same plate obviously)

Bleach - yes I do it, I like a sparkly loo and sink

Fondant Fancy - I saw a cake sized one in Tesco the other day. So wanted to buy it. I might have to get one for my birthday.

I've been pretty good on the diet today; better weather and some sleep helped no end.

I'm off to surf the threads and ignore the telephone script I'm supposed to be writing. See ya later.

Glad to hear you got the all clear Alice. :-)

I really fancy a fondant fancy now. Can you guys make me crave something I can have for a meal instead of this incessant talk of snackfood?!

bellavita · 12/01/2010 20:56

Shiney - are you enjoying your job?

traceybath · 12/01/2010 21:20

Its snowing here - sob, sound of me rocking quietly in the corner.

I haven't had any post in a week and am waiting on parcels!

Diet ok today but drinking red wine as DS's such monkeys!

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 12/01/2010 21:22

Because the cheap stuff works as well as the posh stuff but costs alot less. simple economics really. Plus it is a good use if you are mad enough to try the cheap stuff in the delusion you will like it and dicover actually you think it rather yuck.

Wasting - i have a lovely cottage pie that ds helped me make with the left overs from yesterdays mince.

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 12/01/2010 21:23

tracey send it here, send it here! Please!

IggiBurns · 12/01/2010 21:27

Hullo, just checking in as am off to watch new series of Dollhouse
I think Shiney the nursery has taken the worst route if they were hoping this would blow over! Now you will be desperate to hear the gossip they want to hide!
I was told today that DS has some "issues" at nursery for the first time - apparently he threw some toys out of a box in an aggressive manner, and he doesn't always listen to them when they tell him what to do. Stood there with a bit of a face on. Not sure what they want me to do about it ('cept bring him up properly, as clearly not doing that). Off to drink some bleach and put coke down the toilet.

Chaos - you can have the snow with pleasure .

We will not be spending another winter in this house - its too cold and too remote. Give me a nice cul de sac in suburbia any day of the week.

Today I have seen a fox, a buzzard and deer but am bored of nature now . After 10 years of rural living - I want town.

Oh and am invited to a wedding in 9 weeks time without dc's (which is fine) but means I have to work out how to get dd to take a bottle and go to bed without a bf. And I hate expressing after doing quite a bit of it when ds2 was born and was poorly.

Also know my problems are very insignificant compared to others.

Shiney - are you generally happy with the nursery, with ted's key-workers? Do love your ds's name - was a contender before we found out dc3 was a she.

traceybath · 12/01/2010 21:42

I am a recycler and a bleach user - a bottle a week habit I reckon .

Oh and everyone who wanted cashmere wrist warmers like Shiney - Brora sale starts tonight at midnight - they'll be a bargainous £25.

TrillianAstra · 12/01/2010 21:50

Had dinner at a pub - lasagne and chips. Only ate 3/4 of each but there was sooo much cheese on top.

Now drinking a Bloody Mary to get in some tomatoey goodness.

Hope you feel okay Alice - purple lips is very odd.

YanknCock · 12/01/2010 21:51

Hellooooooo!!! I feel like I've had withdrawal symptoms not being here since the weekend! I set my computer running a remote backup, and it took days to run and took all the bandwidth. Could just about get on facebook once in a while to update, but mumsnet wouldn't load properly. DH not impressed, but it means all our pictures and such are safely backed up now.

I weighed in yesterday, lost 3.5 lbs last week, I think because we barely left the house. Went to pilates tonight, planning on aqua aerobics on Thursday.

How are you all? I've missed you! Someone want to give me a quick summary of everything that's happened since Saturday?

MyCat, got your message, will send you the postage ££ tonight. Thanks again!

TrillianAstra · 12/01/2010 21:54

Hi Yank!

YanknCock · 12/01/2010 22:04

Trill, I am not speaking to you because I am exceptionally jealous of your gorgeous curly hair, which I've been admiring on facebook.

DreamsInBinary · 12/01/2010 22:05

BoF, if you are around, was it this dress you bought for xmas? Is it flattering on?

wastingaway · 12/01/2010 22:05

Hello Yank! Have been watching your disasters via facebook. Hope things are going better?

That sounds tasty DEM.

I'm drinking gin and tonic. It's rather nice.

YanknCock · 12/01/2010 22:08

MyCat, have sent money by paypal to the address on your facebook profile, hope that's right?

Also, I am feeling virtuous because I went for the Tuesday pub lunch with my aquanatal class (none of us have actually gone in months), and I ordered the soup and sandwich combo rather than anything that came with chips (like I normally do).

We had fish and chips for supper though

TrillianAstra · 12/01/2010 22:09

I spent about 18 years not knowing how to deal with the hair so I think I should be allowed it now. Check out Vinny's shiny shiney shiny hair!
