I had bacon, parsnip chips and roast tomatoes, followed by home made fruitcake.

I am extraordinarily tired and will be cuddling up with my book soon. I just need to finish cleaning the kitchen.

Shiney, I think you have every right to know what is going on. So yes, a strongly worded e-mail might be appropriate.

CheeeseOnToast · 12/01/2010 18:55

Hi everyone

Wow this thread is fast moving!!!

Been reasonable today.. had weetabix and tea for breakfast, then slim fast for lunch, then i got hungry and had a baguette with Nice Ham, bit of cheese and loads of delicious salad (with radishes and everything!) and a sparkling water. And I've had nothing else all day, which is good going for me. I've got a lovely tin of organic cream of tomato soup which wil be my dinner, perhaps with a few crackers and a bit of butter

Ooh Vinny that snack box sounds lovely, I might do one of those. Is that the free trial you're doing, and is it easy to cancel? I'm rubbish at signing up for stuff, forgetting about it and then having to pay

Shiney I dont have children yet so perhaps not the best person to judge but I would definitely want to know what the nature of the gossip/bad-mouthing was - even if they dont give you details. Just so you can be sure the care of your DCs is up to scratch.

Lizzylou · 12/01/2010 18:57

Just got all het up on a thread, apparently, I am a cretin Just by virtue of my employment (a double one if you count my Saturday job!).

Shiney, definitely email to find out what was said and why, that is all very suspicious.

No idea what I will be eating this evening, not v hungry, for a change.

Oh, and am a recycler/composter/slattern who rarely uses bleach just so as you know.

bellavita · 12/01/2010 19:02

DH and I had chilli and rice for tea (I had sald with mine)

The DS's had pancakes. DS1 had sweet ones with blueberries and DS2 likes them savoury with gravy.

Called you a cretin Lizzy

Lizzylou · 12/01/2010 19:05

Not just me, Bella, Recruitment Consultants in general. Then when I went on thread and said I was a Rec Consultants, someone else popped up to say that they agreed, Rec consultants are cretins and estate agents are worse!

Am so knackered after DS2's 5am ish start, just want cheese on toast........

FiveGoMadInDorset · 12/01/2010 19:06

We are back, it was fabulous, so good that DD would like to go again and thinking of taking her on Friday.

VinegarTits · 12/01/2010 19:07

Lizzy you are lovely, dont take that thread personally, there are some awful RC out there that have given the occupation a bad name, doesnt mean they are all bad

What industry do you recruit for btw? you might be useful to know

Alicetheinvisible · 12/01/2010 19:08

Hello all

Got home from the hospital an hour ago and i am already in bed - shattered!

They have no idea why my lips are going purple for long periods of time, or why it has only come on with the pregnancy. I have had more bloods and an ECG done. The bloods hadn't arrived back by the time they said i could leave but not too worried about them as i had blood taken last week anyway. The ECG however is abnormal, the Dr thinks it is normal for me though iyswim? Apparently there is a small amount of the population who have this condition (not life threatening) where their heart rate(or whatever shows up on ecg) is that of a much younger person, so in my case a child. Not sure why (or what it is called) but it shouldn't be the reason for the purple lips. Still have to see the cardiologist in feb though.

Oh, and i had burger king for dinner

VinegarTits · 12/01/2010 19:12

Hello Alice, glad your back and its nothing too serious, you had us worried there for a bit

Lizzylou · 12/01/2010 19:16

Alice, glad that all is well, hope you enjoyed your BK!

Thanks VT, I know of some awful ones myself, it's the sweeping generalisations that annoy the buggery out of me.

Would it be very wrong to go to bed now??

bellavita · 12/01/2010 19:21

Alice, glad everything is ok

Lizzy, you have your cheese on toast - a 5.00am start is early enough to warrant having anything you fancy. I haven't read the thread in question, but I second what Vinny says, you are lovely in our eyes and that's what counts!

hellsbelles · 12/01/2010 19:22

Alice - well good to hear that it's nothing serious but no wonder you are shattered. Glad to hear that you are concentrating on healthy eating though

Shiney - what a bizzare way for the owner to deal with it - she has now worried every single parent in the nursery rather than just the offending few. She will realise the error of her approach t/m morning when everyone demands further info. I completely agree you need more specific information.

Squeezy - I happened upon an issue of O.K and that's where I saw the ice water tip. I should have known that unlike me you would never read a copy of that trashy mag

bellavita · 12/01/2010 19:23

Coldtits received her parcel btw - yesterday. I got a lovely e-mail from her this morning thanking me

Lizzylou · 12/01/2010 19:24

Thanks Bella, I can't have bread though....

Oh sorry Vinny, it is Legal bods I recruit, or would if anyone would pay me to do it!

Going to have yoghurt and walnuts, yes I know, I rock.

I may also "groom" pre-bedtime, am ultra paranoid now after Dh's revelation

Alicetheinvisible · 12/01/2010 19:25

Damn you Bella! You have just written Fancy and now i really really want a Mr Kipling fondant fancy like i need one

bellavita · 12/01/2010 19:26

lol at Lizzy's pre-bedtime grooming!!

bellavita · 12/01/2010 19:27

Oooo I like those Alice. I bite off all the icing going around the cake then eat all the sponge till I am left with just the squidgy bit in the top - yum!!!

Lizzylou · 12/01/2010 19:27

Aw, am glad that all worked out, it was all very strange, she must have felt awful.
You are v lovely Bella

I like the pink fondant fancies best, Alice.....

bellavita · 12/01/2010 19:28
Blush
Alicetheinvisible · 12/01/2010 19:28

Pink was what i was thinking of!

Lizzylou · 12/01/2010 19:31

NO, don't be , I didn't mean it like that!
Gawd, get my foot out of my mouth!

It was a bad situation all round and you both felt awful, is what I meant.

Neither of you did anything worng!

Right, really am going to bed for 8pm now!

bellavita · 12/01/2010 19:32

Lizzy I was at you paying me a compliment

hellsbelles · 12/01/2010 19:34

yes good to hear it's all resolved Bella. It was such a lovely thing you did.

supper tonight was - roast monkfish (which I am terrified I may have slightly undercooked...having said that if it was I may lose lots of weight quickly!), courgettes, green beans and a cannellini bean salad (with peppers, red onions and cucumber). DH was actually quite happy with that as it made the plate look rather full and colourful!

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 12/01/2010 19:49

glad you are ok alice.

Squeezy -just make sure it is cheap diet coke not the proper stuff. Supermarket stuff kinda thing.

bellavita · 12/01/2010 19:50

Hells, your tea sounds gorgeous. How long do you approx roast a piece of monkfish for?
