Lizzy - I would act dumb & pretend you know nothing, perhaps buy her a ladyshave for her birthday

BOF - I am a fan of the cup of the moon (great name!) but I was just on month 4 of using it, so still a bit dodgy, when I got the period from hell. I had to change it every hour, and was making a hell of a mess . Seriously the last period was like day two of lochia only lasting for days and days!

I am definitely going back to it if/when my periods become more manageable, or at least if I get used to them. But last time I really just wanted to hole up at home. Rushing to the loo every hour or two when I'm in charge of four children, two of whom are toddlers, when I'm not at home is not much fun. Nor is having to take a bumper pack of pads everywhere with me!

bellavita · 11/01/2010 20:34

Hope you feel better tomorrow Shiney.

NormaSknockers · 11/01/2010 20:34

Nothing wrong with a moan Flamingo, periods suck even more so when they're heavy & you're constantly having to nip to the loo!

FlamingoBingo · 11/01/2010 20:35

Lizzy! Just read your post about your friend. Hahahahahahahaha!

Sorry . Probably not as much as you will be next time you see her though

VinegarTits · 11/01/2010 20:40

i would like to know the weird things she was doing to him when he woke

i love my mooncup, been using it about 2 yrs and i dont even notice my heavy periods anymore

Whats wrong with a hairy muff?

bellavita · 11/01/2010 20:41

Sqeezy - I can second Sazzles regarding Savannah - its lovely. Went there with an ex when he was at a conference. If you've ever seen the film 'Midnight in the garden of good and evil' its set there.

Would be a good stopping off place on the way to Florida.

Lizzy - how awfully embarassing. I'd just stay well out of it but perhaps not ever set any of your friends up with him again.

VinegarTits · 11/01/2010 20:41

Sorry your feeling poorly Shiney, hope you feel beter in the morning

DreamsInBinary · 11/01/2010 20:42

I meant to say, Squeezy, I love Bingo

I've only been a few times, and that was years ago, but it was ace.

You must buy a dabber. Makes the whole experience, does a dabber.

FlamingoBingo · 11/01/2010 20:43

Well help me out then, mooncup experts!

I can get it right for the first couple of goes on the first couple of days, but when it starts going wrong, then it just keeps on going wrong! It just won't sit comfortably. When it's right, it's brilliant, but when it's wrong it's pants, and I don't think I've had enough practice to get it right often enough to cope with these heavy, heavy periods. I was finding it stressful every time I changed it in case it was going to be a 'bad' one and i'd have to go back ten minutes later to fiddle with it - sometimes two or three times!

Help!

NormaSknockers · 11/01/2010 20:44

I haven't played bingo in years, great fun though!

Sazzles - yes, I'll have it removed if it doesn't settle down in 8m - that's our deadline. We knew it would be bad to start with but everyone says it gets easier.

We really don't want DH to have the snip, but that's our only real option, we feel, if the IUD doesn't work out . So we really want to give the IUD a proper chance.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 11/01/2010 20:46

Evening all.

Welcome Trinity.

Mitts - What a cow (your ex MIL, not you). Any idea why she would do that?

Five - hope the sleep training goes well for you. Let me know (I'm feeling nervous for you. I found it hard with DD but it was all very much worth it in the end).

Lizzy - thats hilarious! Particularly made me laugh when you said you'd never be able to look your friend in the face again, I just know that I wouldn;t be able to help myself looking to see if she was sprouting extra hairs down below (yy I know, bloody odd, but I'm one of those people who cannot stop staring at someones boil/hair lip/hairy lip/huge nose etc etc, in a conversation)

Not too bad on the diet today and did 5 mins on DH ski trainer machine. I know that doesn't sound much, but its the first time I've been on it in 18 mths and it is bloody hard work.

Going back to WW next week. Booked our summer hols (Bigbury On Sea on South Devon next June) so that is the target date for me to have lost another 2 stone by.

Anyway, best be off now, promised DH I would (gulp) talk to him tonight!

IggiBurns · 11/01/2010 20:46

Am I too late for the cross-trainer question? I have one, it's great if you can remember to get on it! BUT I do find it rather noisy. Stick you earphones in and you won't notice. Does it help? It's low impact, so good if you have knee/back probs, and on weeks when I've used it I lose more weight than weeks when I don't.

traceybath · 11/01/2010 20:48

Flamingo - Dr suggested IUD for me but I'm too squeamish so think DH will be getting the snip this year.

DD was a surprise and I can't be having any more surprises like that! Although she is of course delightful - 3 dc's is enough for me.

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 11/01/2010 20:48

Oh wow Saz and tracey! Sounds amazing! Callaway gardens is gorgeous

I shall check out these places in Google Earth

Poor you Flam Have never tried the cup of moon so have no advice but I hope you get it sorted soon, sounds miserable.

NormaSknockers · 11/01/2010 20:50

I'm hoping DH will come round to the idea of having the snip else I fear it'll be down to me & it would be so much more straight forward for him to be done then me

traceybath · 11/01/2010 20:54

Squeezy - we also went to Hilton Head Island for a few days which was also lovely and on the way to Florida.

I love the South in America - get to imagine I'm Scarlett O'Hara!

Norma - DH is very amenable to having the snip - the thought of more babies scares him more than me . Also I think having had 3 c-sections it is sort of his turn now and as you say its more straight forward for men.

bellavita · 11/01/2010 20:57

tracey - where would you fly to if you wanted to go to Hilton Head and how long a flight is it?

VinegarTits · 11/01/2010 21:00

FB wrt the mooncup, when you push it up, run your finger around the wide bit and make sure it has opened up properly, i usually clench then pull it down slightly to create a bit of a vaccum and prevent leaks

sorry if thats tmi ofr non users

hellsbelles · 11/01/2010 21:00

Shiney - hope you feel better soon

FAnny - I can't find your post about how the sleep clinic went but I can see people wishing you luck on sleep training....! Hopefully not too painful for any of you - are you starting tonight?

Lizzy - agree with all that you must play dumb. Do not under any circumstances let her know that she has been talked about (that is surely most women's nightmare!).

But I suppose it is all horse for courses (probably not the best term?!) - some blokes would love 'weird' things being done to them and strong muscles there (isn't that supposed to be a very good thing). Not sure about the hairy fanjo! Actually there are probably are some blokes that love that as well!
