Mitts - is your exmil normally such a cow?

Just seen 5 deer in field near house - very pretty amidst the snow.

Am trying to book our summer holiday as am now focusing on the sun.

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 11/01/2010 16:21

Mitts that's hellish. What a horrible lady! All she will do is damage her own relationship with the children.....as they grow up they will see for themselves if she continues to bad mouth you. Grr!

Have been good today. Dinner will be roast chicken, boiled potatoes, peas and carrots.

It's been a bit warmer today, some of the snow has started to melt and go slushy and by the end of the week we might even hit the balmy tropical temperature of 5 degrees!! Woohoo!

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 11/01/2010 16:33

Mince for tea tonight just checked my cooking instructions for the dried beans that i am going to use. have soaked the beans overnight already so it is just a case of sorting the mince out. might scuttle off and do that now so it is ready for tea at 5pm.
Ds has just informed me that he is cooking wild animals in the coldest desert. He even has a fire to keep us warm. sounds lovely i am off. catch you when i am back off from my adventure.

Alicetheinvisible · 11/01/2010 17:24

Mitts - wicked woman

DH and i are going out on thursday I know La Tasca is not exactly 'quality' food but we really like the atmosphere in our local one. It is small, the staff are lovely and it is very good food to chat and be relaxed over iyswim (especially half price ) The problem is that in our town we have various Indian restaurants, Pizza Express, Prezzo and a Thai place (expensive) so it is nice to go somewhere a bit different. Just wish i could have sangria....

None of us are having the SF jab.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 11/01/2010 18:36

Right night one of sleep training coming up.

Supper is breaded plaice, chips and beans. Still munching through the freezer.

TrillianAstra · 11/01/2010 18:41

Mmm, sangria. It's really a summer drink though isn't it?

Freezing fingers after cycling home. Just about to ask DP if he has any opinions on dinner - will either be Thai curry or pork with gnocchi and mustard.

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 11/01/2010 18:44

Good luck with that Five.

Ds has been a superstar again and i am getting a bit scared. where is my boy and what has my ex done to him ...or when is the next big kaboom coimng and how bad is it going to be as a result of all this goodness

I m going to make the most of it whilst i can. A game and then reading and then bedtime routine.

TrinityIsFuckingTrying · 11/01/2010 18:46

evening all
alice invited me over earlier today

how is everyone?

traceybath · 11/01/2010 18:59

Hi Trinity - how are you?

Pasta for dinner but chilli tomato sauce so not too bad.

Right dd in bed - boys now on the way.

Five - good luck with sleep training.

bellavita · 11/01/2010 19:07

Hello Trinity

Just had malaysian beef curry with steamed basmati rice and stir fried pak choi with ginger (was a slow cooker recipe) DH said it was a tad too sweet for him - had a can of coconult milk in. Was nice, but I reduced my portion greatly. I have had a glass of wine though

I took a huuuuge salad to work with me and it took me an age to eat it as the phone was busy.

Fanny, hope the sleep training goes ok.

Trills, do you have some nice gloves to wear whilst you are cycling home?

TrinityIsFuckingTrying · 11/01/2010 19:11

I had a much much smaller portion of chilli con carne
some spicy cous cous and a heaped half a plate of salad

I am determined

VinegarTits · 11/01/2010 19:13

Hello Trinity, are you going to join us in some cock, gossiping, -vibrators--, talking shite, healthy eating chat?

VinegarTits · 11/01/2010 19:15

i had chicken, chips, coleslaw (homemade) and a cup of tea and 3 1 chocolate biscuit

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 11/01/2010 19:19

Hiya everyone and hiya trinity, nice to see you on here

My roast chicken was delicious, tender and juicy. Managed to keep the portions down which is my downfall....I end up making too much and then can't face waste so end up having ginormous portions.

SIL is taking me to bingo tomorrow. I am excited, have never been before. I imagined it was gonna be loads of old ladies but she says it's good fun and that lots of younger people go. She has also won a bit here and there, a couple of times she has won a few hundred quid, other times £30 or £50.

SqueezyIsStartinAResolution · 11/01/2010 19:21

Oh VT, HOMEMADE COLESLAW! I fucking love homemade coleslaw!

Sorry for the swearing but I think it's necessary in this instance

bellavita · 11/01/2010 19:21

I have never been to or played bingo Squeezy.

hellsbelles · 11/01/2010 19:21

welcome trinity.

I had a sort of south beach meal. I told DS he could have any birthday supper he wanted and he choose - hamburgers and peas (homemade and organic natch!!) and chocolate cloud cake. Did tons of salady stuff and cooked the burgers in the good old george forman grill so most of the fat came out but I'm sure it's not top of the list on the diet.

Ditto the cloud cake - at least it's flourless so not totally forbidden

Twas very nice.

Tracy - I'm trying to sort out summer holidays too. I'm getting really excited about it. I haven't actually booked anything but we are going to try and get a villa this year (1 week with brother, SIL and their children and then the next week on our own in case we all hate being with each other 24/7!!). CAn't wait to be thin AND brown.

no worries at all shiney - dont feel bad, if it werent for you, it wouldnt be here now - i am forever in your debt

TrillianAstra · 11/01/2010 19:36

Hi Trinity!

Thai curry it is - onion/garlic/ginger/chilli/lemongrass + chicken + turmeic/cumin/fish sauce/lemon juice + coconut milk + coriander. With rice.

I am tired and a bit headachey. DP is having trouble sleeping and wants to go out so he is tired enough to sleep. Bleugh. As soon as he has a job sorted out I want to book a holiday. Somewhere sunny in the late winter/early spring if possible. Somewhere cheap. But not too chavvy (full english breakfast and fish&chips is not really my bag) It's not actually going ot be possible is it?

traceybath · 11/01/2010 19:37

Hells - I've found a villa and flights so just waiting to hear villa is available and then will be booking.

We didn't go away last year as had DD in july so very much need some sunshine this year.

Am just filling my basket on the hush website as their sale starts at midnight - not that I'm actually going to buy anything

hellsbelles · 11/01/2010 19:47

Tracy - we did brave it last year (when DD was about 6 months) and I was so nervous as DS had been the worlds worst plane traveller) and she was wonderful...and it was bliss! Very jealous that you have it all sorted.

Trills - sorry you are feeling rough. But holiday will happen I'm sure - as you can avoid school holidays I bet you'll be able to get something on a good deal.

DreamsInBinary · 11/01/2010 19:50

Hello, hello

In the continued absence of my South Beach book, I have returned to The Lord. I'd forgotten how good he is, but am a bit at the weight graph going up, up, up since the last weighing.

Pineapple and Total for breakfast
Jacket potato for lunch
Steak and, er, half a jacket potato for supper

Oh, and five giant chocolate buttons when I got home, because the dc were being somewhat demanding.

Trills - what about Morocco - that should be right temperature?

I like to have things booked so I can look forward to them. Although a holiday with a 5 year old, 2 year old and baby is more a change of scene to be honest.
