MrsS DS is 17 months so you should get a letter any day now. They're doing all the under 5's as soon as possible

IGetKnockedDownButIGetUpAgain · 11/01/2010 13:28

Hello..

Ooohh Alice go for the meal..

If DS wasn't sick, I love taking him out for a meal. n When he was being bullied at school I used to take him out for diners and we used to go out once a week...he is so funny and good company.

He is sitting on my bed using my Lappy while I work.

This is my temporary fighting name.

I walked DD to school but it was closed and a friend took her to theirs...she gets invited everywhere

DD is entitled to the jab, but I have not gone for it hells, I have been meticulous about all other jabs but have held back on this one.

Anyway. I slept a bit so don't feel quite so dog rough. I have had a piece of fruit cake but lose my appetite after DC's have been sick so will eat later when the memory fades....

MrsSawdust · 11/01/2010 13:32

Well ladies the no s diet is going ok for me today so far but I am feeling guilty about the slice of toast (with butter) I had after my porridge this morning. Does that count as seconds?

For lunch I had home made lentil soup and a cheese n tomato sarnie.

Not sure if I'm going to manage no snacks this aft because I'm working until 7. I may have to break the rule and have some fruit.

How do you other no s-ers cope with the late afternoon sugar low?

VinegarTits · 11/01/2010 13:35

I love love love Tapas, La Tasca is ok, i have always enjoyed it there, go for the cheapo meal, or give it me some one who will

Is that you DEM?

traceybath · 11/01/2010 13:56

I guess both my youngest will be eligible for the vaccination but they won't be having it.

My dc's have had all the usual vaccinations but am not keen on any extra ones really - especially a newish one. DH thinks I'm mad as he is very sensible but it can make people quite poorly - or at least mil was when she had it.

I've found the whole vaccination thing very tricksy since having dc's though - I hated them having the mmr as was so worried.

NormaSknockers · 11/01/2010 14:00

tracey it's a dead vaccine so it's incrdibly unlikely that you'd be ill from the vaccine itself, not impossible but highly unlikely.

I couldn't be bothered to make a proper lunch so just had a bowl of cereal!

BitOfFun · 11/01/2010 14:14

I had the swine flu jab myself, and tbh I did feel a bit rough with mild fluey symptoms and a sore arm where the injection went. I much prefer that to the idea of swine flu though. DD2 has had her jab.

OP posts:
traceybath · 11/01/2010 14:18

Oh I know Norma - I think it was a painful arm more than anything - I just find the whole vaccination thing very stressful. (more so since reading all the threads on mn about them)

Golly - I'm actually not hungry today which is a first.

Lizzylou · 11/01/2010 14:22

Who are they offering the jab to?
DS2 is almost 4 and screamed the place down when he had the pre-school MMR booster last month, not sure I could even get him anywhere near the Practice Nurse if I tried tbh.

My Mom's had it (asthmatic), but not heard anything here.

NormaSknockers · 11/01/2010 14:27

Sorry didn't mean that to come across so rudely was typing whilst telling DS to get off the table

We have DDs pre school jabs on Thurs, DH has his jab for Hep B (has to be vaccinated against it due to his work) on the same day so will see if they can do DSs Swine Flu jab at the same time - I wasn't sure about it when it first came out but definately for it now.

BitOfFun · 11/01/2010 14:30

DD2 was brilliant for it- they offered her a chocolate from a box of Roses and she swiped the entire box

In the ensuing battle, she completely failed to notice the injection...

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 11/01/2010 14:33

I'm so unsure. I'm pro vaccine for everything else (though I did separate out the MMR jabs for DS as it was at the height of the debate)....but a private consultant I have for DD (because of the complicated pregnancy) said no, don't do it and also said he isn't giving it to his daughters.

I guess I need to press him further on this. but as Tracy said those MN threads are also pretty offputting about the whole thing. Urghh. Better go re-read them rather than fill up our happy diet thread with this.

Lizzy - I think they are offering it to all under 5's now. But I only just got the letter this morning.

I had a very worthy lunch - salad and smoked fish. Saving space as it would be rude to make DS eat his birthday cake alone

BitOfFun · 11/01/2010 14:42

Oh Jesus, don't ever read a vaccination thread on MN

Not if you value your sanity. That lot all get beamed up to alien spaceships, meet Elvis and Princess Diana before their rectal probing and then gallop back to earth on Shergar.

IGetKnockedDownButIGetUpAgain · 11/01/2010 14:43

No, It's Mitts..

DS has just revealed that My EXMIL has said in front of him and DD that I have been stealing money from her.
I am gutted.
Absolutely rocked to the core.
Furious, hurt, sad.

BitOfFun · 11/01/2010 14:46

Oh Mitts, that's awful. Blood is thicker than water though, and unfortunately a lot of ex-pils go weirdo

OP posts:
NormaSknockers · 11/01/2010 15:00

BOF

Oh Mitts that's bloody horrid, don't you let her get you down she's just nasty!

VinegarTits · 11/01/2010 15:08

Oh mitts wha an evil, wicked thing to say in front of dc

Sounds like she has been up in that space ship with the vaccination thread lot, the mad cow

NormaSknockers · 11/01/2010 15:22

DC are engrossed by The Wizzard of Oz - thank goodness for Sky+ maybe I'll get 5 minutes peace from the whining & moaning now!

jetcatisfrozen · 11/01/2010 15:30

for the people having a tough time - Mitts, thats just awful!

Shiney, i know you said you were going to ring them today, but laptop has just arrived. Not convinced it is a higher spec than the last one but at least its here! They have obviously managed to get the old one switched on, as there are a few files on here from the old laptop - just wondering if they are going to put the rest on I hope so lol!

Just been to KFC after the cinema with mini and i was so good - just a chicken burger with no mayo, and left half the bun

Lizzylou · 11/01/2010 15:41

Mitts, that is dreadful, what an awful thing to be saying about a Mother in front of her DC.
Am on your behalf.

It speaks volumes that your DS didn't believe her and told you what poisonous witch had said.

Hope you're OK

Great news about the laptop, Jet

FiveGoMadInDorset · 11/01/2010 15:45

Mitts - that is truly awful.

Tracey, we have had the letter inviting both DC's to have the vaccination, we have declined.

TrillianAstra · 11/01/2010 15:53

What a horrible thing to say Mitts.

hellsbelles · 11/01/2010 16:00

mitts - what a cow.

bellavita · 11/01/2010 16:09

Oh no Mitts - how horrible

Hells - DS1 has had the swine flu jab.

Just under an hour to go and I can go home

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 11/01/2010 16:12

That is a very vindictive thing for her to say mitts. last thing you needed after the crap texts.

Ds is not having the swine flu jab, it took 8months under a specialist to sort out whether he could have the mmr. He reacts to soooo much medicines he is not having it. Not unless i have had the opportunity to go through it with the consultant we saw last time. And he is asthmatic as am i. but the problem is that it is not the fact that it is a live vaccine it is the preservatives they put into it that cuases him the problems. Might ask to have a referral anyway. He is 5 in feb so of course will miss out on the jab for the underfives done conviently that, same with the introduction of the ear infection type one. Although he did get it in the end anyway.

It has been a busy day and i feel crap as i skipped lunch and just eaten 3 cherry bakewells. and to who ever asked yes toast after porrige does count as seconds on the no-s!
