Welcome to our 36th healthy eating thread, where we will renew any healthy eating resolutions with all the viguor that the Christmas munchies require...

We chat, keep each other on track, and monitor our goals together- some on the thread have lost shed loads of weight, some are running ridiculous distances. Some, of course (like myself and Shiney, our dubious leader) have been a bit, er, remiss really. But that can all change with a New Year!

Come and introduce yourself, old and new, and let's get Mumsnet's famous Shiney Healthy Eating Thread kicked off for 2010...

Oh bum. I thought the Channel 4 Big Quiz with Jimmy Carr was on tonight, and had looked forward to that plus champagne plus lots of food. But it's on tomorrow

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 31/12/2009 19:02

Happy New Year everyone. Not sure I'll be around at midnight. Didn't get to bed til 1:30 last night, then DS woke at 3:30 for a shout til 4:00 then woke for the day at 6. I am feeling v v tired and have eaten loads of crap today just to keep me going (well that's my excuse anyway).

Reality - hope MNHQ can do something for you. What a strange thing for her to do.

Shiney - hope your DS is better for you tonight. Mine went out like a light to bed at 6:00 tonight. Now just praying for the little darling blighter to sleep all night and wake at a reasonable bloody hr!

Lizzylou · 31/12/2009 19:18

Reality, I remember when they had that particularly lovely FB group going on, they seemed such tolerant, likeable people

Glad you got in touch with MNHQ.

Another kicking NYE in the Lizzylou household, am in my pj's and have some pink Prosecco (which is actually rather exciting for me, it is surprisingly nice despite looking like mouthwash).

Have lots of chocolate to finish pre-detox though, so all good.

bellavita · 31/12/2009 19:31

I am in my pj's Lizzy

Lizzylou · 31/12/2009 19:39

It's very now, Bella I think we should call it loungewear though, (like in The White Company or the other posh shops mentioned on the Style and Beauty threads).

Hope Ted is better for you tonight Shiney.

We are watching that Miranda thingy about 2009 on i-player. I love her, I relate to her (though she is waaay funnier).

traceybath · 31/12/2009 20:23

Have just drank 2 glasses of champagne and eaten a very delicous curry. But thats it - tomorrow will be mucho special k and running.

So as I'm a total light weight drink wise - expect I'll be in bed by 10pm.

Also dd has yet to learn that dc3 is meant to be easy and bring themselves up. She is 5 months and still feeds every 2 hours in the night - i should be a waif really.

bellavita · 31/12/2009 20:31

I had a bottle of Stella with my curry tonight tracy.

Have been good all day and then spoilt it earlier on when I saw the bags of peanuts/cashew nuts and dry roasted nuts hidden away in the cupboard.

I definitely feel better today though for not eating as much.

BitOfFun · 31/12/2009 20:40

Can I just take this opportunity to clasp you all to my bosom (alas undiminished) and say that you are all fab and so important to me..? Tis the season to be slushy and all that, but you ladies have made my MN year, and I love you one and all.

Gratefully accepts bosom

Lizzylou · 31/12/2009 21:30

Gawd, I was playing Trivial Pursuit on the Wii when I could have been clasped to BOF's bangers?????
Gutted

YOu are all very lovely ladies and we all deserve lovely 2010's, think we'll get it.

TRacey, am ruminating on no. 3, you are not helping!!!!! My two both slept through by 8 weeks, I just know I'd have another and unleash a beast.

traceybath · 31/12/2009 21:37

Oh Lizzy - dc3 is an utter delight really.

Had 2 fab boys and then total surprise dd. The boys absolutely adore her and she has made our family complete. (Blimey you can tell I've had 2 glasses of alcohol)

She's also pretty good as long as cuddled up on me for 24 hours a day .

I do love babies though although hate pregnancy.

How old are your boys?

jinglejet · 31/12/2009 21:37

Happy new year everyone

BitOfFun · 31/12/2009 21:41

Yeah- yah boo sucks about the Big Fat Quiz- they got us there big style!

Trivial Pursuit, eh? I am fucking brilliant at that. Wish I could go on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, that would solve all my problems. Go on Lizzy, stick me with a hard one and I will promise not to google- fnarrr

Lizzylou · 31/12/2009 21:44

My boys will be 4 and in March (another thing stopping me, I always thought I had a breeding season!). How old are your DC Tracey?
I don't care what flavour baby it is ( I know a woman who had her 4th boy and her husband groaned in front of the midwives as he knew she'd want another baby to get the mystical girl), I am still unsure. Perhaps my New Year detox may help, I have depressed pregnancies and v bad births.

Happy New Year all x

Jet (how are your girls?), you OK?

Lizzylou · 31/12/2009 21:47

Sorry BOF, it's all off now and DH is watching QI.
Why don't you go on MIllionaire?? You'd do well on TV I'd have thought with your looks and bangers. You are a very intelligent woman, with great breasts.

Swooning slightly

BitOfFun · 31/12/2009 21:50

Hehehe

I think you have to spend a couple of grand on phone calls.

We will have to have a virtual pub quiz night on here. It would be great fun- we would have to be honour-bound not to google.

DS1 is 5, DS2 just 2 (boxing day) and dd is 5 months.

DD was a total surprise - struggled to get pregnant with ds2 and then he had a week in nicu when born after being 3 weeks early.

DD pregnancy was hard but she is really very sweet. I was convinced it would be another boy so very surprised when scan revealed a girl. Although to see people's reactions you'd think I'd discovered the cure for cancer or something!

There's only 19months between the youngest 2 and that has been interesting although ds2 is very laid back which helps.

Go on - go for number 3
