Welcome to our 36th healthy eating thread, where we will renew any healthy eating resolutions with all the viguor that the Christmas munchies require...

We chat, keep each other on track, and monitor our goals together- some on the thread have lost shed loads of weight, some are running ridiculous distances. Some, of course (like myself and Shiney, our dubious leader) have been a bit, er, remiss really. But that can all change with a New Year!

Come and introduce yourself, old and new, and let's get Mumsnet's famous Shiney Healthy Eating Thread kicked off for 2010...

Yep thanks lizzy bella sorted me out. Situation resolved itself in the end. All is ok. Am just a bit of a worry wart as dont always read situations right and make the right decision so i worry that i am doing it wrong so worry more. just needed someone to see the wood for the trees

Lizzylou · 31/12/2009 10:44

Aw, glad lovely Bella has sorted you out, DEM

Right, must get moving.

bellavita · 31/12/2009 10:51

I have ordered some dairylea light!

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 31/12/2009 10:51

at Bella and DEM

Am in work which is pretty rubbish. We have a massive rollout of code, but can only do it once all the users have logged off the system. God knows when that will be, as they are solicitors and will prob want to work until 10pm.

DidEinsteinsMum · 31/12/2009 10:58

oh that is crap DIB. hoepfully it wont be as it is new years eve. Ex's dad is a solicitor and his boss shut the office down over christmas they dont open again until the 4th but i suppose it depends on what kind of cases they take on and the requirements of their services over christmas. Few people want wills and house moving doing between christmas and new year. That is really crap though

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 31/12/2009 11:09

Ngh.

On the plus side, DH has DC all day. He is a fabulous Dad, and very hands-on, but he rarely has them by himself all day, and he is very excited about it. I am rather looking forward to seeing how knackered he will be. Mean?

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 31/12/2009 11:21

Morning

I am Alice and i am pregnant so focusing on healthy eating rather than losing weight. However, with the morning sickness i am just eating what i can including pot noodles

Can anyone help me choose a new name? Something with Alice in it?

SazzlesOnASled · 31/12/2009 12:14

Ran 7.5k in 43 mins this morning. However knee started to twinge so i stopped. 600 calories in the calorie bank for later though

Bella - how is your knee now?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 31/12/2009 12:14

I am Five, AKA Fanny.

I have a long way to go but enjoying myself while doing it.

I probaby won't be abe to get on here again today so wishing you al a Happy and Heathy New Year. Fresh starts and all that.

jinglejet · 31/12/2009 12:14

Hi i'm jet. I started with the shiney gang back in July, and lost some weight quite quickly Has slowed down to a snails pace now though, so need to get back in with the good Lord Ford and try and step away from the huge tin of biscuits we seem to have acquired

Oh, and step it up a notch or two with the exercise!

bellavita · 31/12/2009 12:26

Sazz - knee still hurts.. but Consultant and physio have signed me off now. He said it could always hurt . I suppose I just have to get on with it and try and use it as I would normally. I can kneel on a bed because it is soft, but on say a hard floor it feels really strange.

The DS's did not tell me there were no cheese biscuits left (my shopping has just arrived and I would have ordered some) - so DS2 has just helped himself to my ryvita . Am having a goats cheese and beetroot salad for lunch.

SazzlesOnASled · 31/12/2009 12:29

Bella, mine still hurts years on if i kneel on a hard floor, just a side effect i guess

Guests arriving in about 2 hrs and we are all going tenpin bowling. No lunch as yet, but kettle boiled for a cuppa. Lovely

Salad was delish, we have a ton of oranges, satsumas and a couple of mangoes to eat so I will be munching on those this aft. DH and DS1 have just eaten sausage butties

hellsbelles · 31/12/2009 13:06

o.k...just done my food shopping list for the next few days....

will have ham and baked eggs t/m morning, salad nicoise for lunch, sirloin steak with green beans and baked tomatoes for supper - with nuts, garlic prawns, cheese (not mixed together obviously!) for snacks. And will try and find some deluxe decaff green tea or coffee.

next day - same breakfast....lunch = olive oil & balsamic dressing on salad with tomatoes, chicken breast slices, cucumber and lettuce. Supper = monkfish wrapped in pancetta slices (must check if pancetta is o.k!) and veg. Same snacks.

HAve a feeling this is going to be expensive - but as we can't have wine will balance out.

I'm actually quite looking forward to it. I'm fed up of being bloated and fat.

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 31/12/2009 13:12

Er, can't have wine?? What kind of crazy diet is this??!

SazzlesOnASled · 31/12/2009 13:16

LOL DIB, tis why i ended up on the boring good old calorie counting as the Lord, although a hard taskmaster, does permit wine [lush]

hellsbelles · 31/12/2009 13:19

i know - it's the worst bit! but it's only for 2 weeks then you are allowed it.

jaquelinehydeThePresents · 31/12/2009 13:26

Heheheheehe DP just came down downstairs and said we must start the diet ASAP as he can't get into all but one pair of his trousers. I shouldn't have laughed but I couldn't help it.

T-4 days and counting until student money is paid! Then 3 days later my diet shall begin.

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 31/12/2009 13:30

Two weeks??

GodRestYeMerryMummyLin · 31/12/2009 13:37

happy new year to you all.

Lizzylou · 31/12/2009 13:40

DIB, I am pretending to look forward to the 2 weeks no wine thing, but am secretly very scared!

DH is in IT for a Law firm as well, I hear those Fee Earners can be very demanding

Have returned from nightmare that is a supermarket on NYE, sooo much green veg and salad and lots of fish/lean meat.
I will be a Goddess in 2010, oh yes.

Oh and very excited because set up 2 very lovely friends of mine and DH's and they went on a date yesterday and really got on, just call me Cilla
