Welcome to our 36th healthy eating thread, where we will renew any healthy eating resolutions with all the viguor that the Christmas munchies require...

We chat, keep each other on track, and monitor our goals together- some on the thread have lost shed loads of weight, some are running ridiculous distances. Some, of course (like myself and Shiney, our dubious leader) have been a bit, er, remiss really. But that can all change with a New Year!

Come and introduce yourself, old and new, and let's get Mumsnet's famous Shiney Healthy Eating Thread kicked off for 2010...

Lizzylou · 31/12/2009 14:03

Good girl, Mummylin, me too

TinselianAstra · 31/12/2009 14:08

at Mr Jac.

I liked the Lord, I called his plan 'choose your deprivation' or possibly 'choose your sins wisely'. Eat whatever you like, as long as it adds up, and you will lose weight. YOu might get spots if you use all your calories on grease, but it's up to you.

Hello hello.
Am I wrong to just be so bored at being off work and it snowing all the time and my van not starting and not being able to think how to entertain DS and being fed up at spending time with DP?
Oh and a bit resentful that all my friends get to go out on New Year's Eve while I stay in and watch Gavin and Stacey?

DidEinsteinsMum · 31/12/2009 14:24

@ wine free realisation. Its only two weeks. might slow time down a bit so you know what's happening.

I have my lego and it is a bit adictive my parents think it is funny ds is just pleased as he is making his star wars up and i am making mine up. nice be allowed to be a kid for half hour. have to go cook tea after that. we have guests coming. so need to daft things like wrap bacon around warm part cooked sausages etc.

the family have discovered their human sides today so it is actually pleasant to be about. expect the normal psychotic panice from various individuals in the half hour before guests come but enjoying the peace.

Hello - I need to lose half a stone but its clinging on determinedly.

Went to ikea this morning to get ds2 a bed. Managed to bump into a very small man and apologised saying I hadn't seen him to get a very hard glare from him - was extremely embarassing and I felt very bad.

Then of course saw him all around the shop and even behind him in the queue.

However managed to do whole trip without arguing with DH which is a first in ikea. Also bought the requisite 100 tea lights.

Healthy eating - umm - may have to start in earnest tomorrow.

Am going to do clothes sort out tomorrow and hopefully motivate myself by trying on clothes I want to fit back into comfortably.

Also may go for a run tomorrow.

bellavita · 31/12/2009 14:48

Shiney - was Teddy poorly last night? Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight.

I appear to be on my own today then with the healthy eating

Oh no BofF - what a crap day for you. Has the recovery man turned up?

May I wish everyone one of you a HAPPY NEW YEAR x

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

Lizzylou · 31/12/2009 15:45

Happy New Year everyone, here's hoping 2010 brings us love, luck, happiness and trim thighs (a lottery win wouldn't go amiss either).

Squeezy, Happy Hogmanay

Rofl at traceybath's comedy ikea trip

AA and my brother turned up at the same time, perhaps 40 minutes after we phoned them? Not at all bad, I reckon. Went straight to a soft play place for dd2- just got to keep her whirlwind of evil spinning another hour I think. Then I will be hunting for anti-histamines or similar to knock her out (maybe a large mallet?)

DidEinsteinsMum · 31/12/2009 17:17

bellavita · 31/12/2009 17:20

Oh, and thanks bella- you wouldn't think that if you'd seen me hauling her upstairs for more scratching infractions though She has gone quiet now- I am tempted to leave her, but I should bring her down really, so that it's more discipline than simple banishment.

But when it gets to the point where she stalks you and starts a fight on a thread... that is not on imo.

To me it seems more nasty then weird. remember seeing it but cant find to re-read. I guess at least she is being open about where she is rather then lurking and fbing your posts. but then again it is a major pita to be stalked.

BitOfFun · 31/12/2009 17:28

If she is claiming to be in debt because of you and pleading poverty due to non-existant child support, that is smearing you though. I would contact hq
