...for our 31st Heathy Eating thread- I can't promise that we aren't re-cycling titles for the thread at this point, and like any sequel it will no doubt be full of inferior lines and piss-poor cinematography (after all, who can beat the links to Terry Wogan? Oops), but we are all here and welcome any newcomers who want to join in the frenzy and hilarity that are the Shiney threads, named for our glorious leader

We chat, support, and shout at each other in varying amounts, and try to stay on the straight and narrow for health, weight-loss or both. Join in, and have fun- it's cheaper than weightwatchers, and there are rude jokes and bargain shopping codes too- what more could you ask for?

Nom nom VinegarTits, such a tasty carrot!

Just keep an eye on the good stuff for me, I'll be collecting it on the way out when I weigh nine stone. Which will take a long, long time......

Good morning

I've received my first secret santa present

The message was written in binary.

I am aglow with warm fuzziness, and fighting an internal battle not to open it

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 29/11/2009 09:16

Good morning from a very wet and windy Dorset. Hope everyone is coping in this weather. We are wrapped up warm, DH is just about to light fires and I am starting to make chocolate mousse for lunch. We are also having beef brisket, mashed potatoes, cauliflower cheese, cabbage and peas and wine so not a calorie free lunch. Oops but nice to have friends round.

SparklyAlice · 29/11/2009 09:22

Good morning all

DIB - ooh, how exciting!! When will you open it?

Fanny - that sounds pretty good. Cold here too, but we are just about to head off to the lovely () Fens to see to the horses, then shopping, then more DIY - fun Can i come to yours instead?

wastingaway · 29/11/2009 10:29

Morning. I just feel like lighting a fire. Haven't had an open fire for ten years, but it is definitely one of those mornings!

Are we saving SS pressies til Christmas or opening on the 11th?

TrillianAstra · 29/11/2009 11:20

Morning. Had the most horrific headache ever last night, but feeling better now. Not sure what triggered it. Not a migrane though as I didn't see anything funny.

Welcome WW.

I am drinking a cup of tea and some smoothie. That's healthy drinking, if not technically healthy eating.

wastingaway · 29/11/2009 11:27

Do you always get migraines the same Trill? I know that they can be different for different people.

That reminds me, I bought orange juice yesterday..

TrillianAstra · 29/11/2009 11:34

I never get migranes - I just know that 'really really bad headache' is not the definition.

I think SS presents should all be opened on one day. Not sure what day it is though. I ordered something online and it hasn't turned up yet...

Apparently I can't spell it either Gone now anyway. I do sometimes get headaches normally, but not bad ones.

DP is having the leftover chinese for lunch so I can/will/should have something more healthy.

Going round to boss's house this afternoon (don't worry, she's not like a big scary boss) to make cakes for the boys to say well done for having grown their moustaches all month.

So you paid for it, then got a refund very soon after. And neither is showing on your card?

Maybe it's because it's the weekend? IT's not like you'll gain anything either way, unless they give you the refund but don't cahrge the initial amount...

TrillianAstra · 29/11/2009 12:01

Post the stuff Shiney

But no opening of SS presents until the day we decide.

Right, am going to get my SS present NOW (once have dried my hair).
I have been so bloody disorganised.
I thought I had it sorted but alas no.......
I have sooo much stuff to post as well.

Then it'll be Christmas cards, ugh

TrillianAstra · 29/11/2009 12:13

Did I mention that we have fairy lights?

SparklyAlice · 29/11/2009 12:31

My car is broken

It has been making funny noises this week and have it booked in for a service on friday. Today the battery light came on and suddenly i have no power steering. WTF? Turns out the alternator belt has come off, so i am stuck at home waiting for nice RAC man to come and look at (and possibly fix) for me. Will make him nice cup of tea though as i am nice like that Really wanted to go to HobbyCraft tomorrow to get some christmas stuff too

TrillianAstra · 29/11/2009 12:41

Belt off should be fixable, just case of knowing what to do. We had an actual broken alternator a few weeks ago, v spensive.

Fingers crossed for nice RAC man.

BitOfFun · 29/11/2009 12:42

Bummer about the car!

Oh dear- I went to a very ill-advised house party at about two am last night and stupidly got persuaded to ingest something-I-know-not-what and hence remember nothing of the rest of the evening. I've got a feeling that I was probably a humungous wanker, if indeed I retained the power of speech. Have sent DP out for sausages as it is clearly a Breakfast Emergency. Then I will start acting like a grownup again and not a stupid prat.
Not sure if I've got a hangover yet as I haven't moved too much. I deserve one though.

TrillianAstra · 29/11/2009 14:05

You went at 2am?!

BitOfFun · 29/11/2009 14:33

That was a warning signal I failed to heed. Things that seem like a good idea at 2am seldom are. Whatever was in that drink finished me off- I remember getting home, but nothing after that.

I once drank something, possibly Polish, that had a pear in the bottle. A whole pear. I think they go around putting bottles around pear blossom and hope that the fruit will grow, otherwise I have no idea how they got it in.

Lizzylou · 29/11/2009 15:13

Yay!
SS gift is sorted, have hoovered and clean lounge and dining room, hall and just about to start kitchen.
My pit of filth will be sparkling.

BOF, sounds a good night/morning

Off to clean some more before I just wallow on the sofa for the rest of the day like normal

Hope your car gets sorted Alice.
