...for our 31st Heathy Eating thread- I can't promise that we aren't re-cycling titles for the thread at this point, and like any sequel it will no doubt be full of inferior lines and piss-poor cinematography (after all, who can beat the links to Terry Wogan? Oops), but we are all here and welcome any newcomers who want to join in the frenzy and hilarity that are the Shiney threads, named for our glorious leader

We chat, support, and shout at each other in varying amounts, and try to stay on the straight and narrow for health, weight-loss or both. Join in, and have fun- it's cheaper than weightwatchers, and there are rude jokes and bargain shopping codes too- what more could you ask for?

Hey everyone....weigh-in was bad as expected, have gained 2lbs. But considering the amount of rubbish and takeaway we had....well 2lbs is limited damage.

Thanks Shiney and DEM for your posts on my other thread. Actually slept well last night, maybe talking about it has helped me crack the problem!

bellavita · 07/12/2009 09:15

Have managed to get an appointment for 10.15am tomorrow morning. The only one they had today was 3.15pm and obviously I am at work (don't start till 12.00). I did not sleep much at all last night and had to get up at 2.15am to put some more clove oil on my tooth. Will call in to Morrisons on way to work to get more painkillers. I suppose I should be thankful that at least I can have an appointment tomorrow that fits in with work...

Hope eveyone else is ok.

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 07/12/2009 09:21

D'ye Know, I have had a mad weekend...and I missed you guys.

I Christmas shopped, abandoned my plans to put the deco's up, or tidy up and spent hours drinking copious amounts of coffee with a lovely girlfriend, watched the film Crank, which despite being grotesquely violent and sic, made me LMAO. Picked DC's up from London yesterday and fell in love with St Pancras station. I watched the programme about it being done up and it is AWESOME. I spent 9 hrs on public transport but hey ho... the DC's had an mazing weekend, their Big Brother and his girlfriend spoilt them rotten.

I would like to have a long long bath and then sleep till teas time, but t he reality is a messy house and a pile of work.

Hope you all had good weekends...DEM, I love you, I hope a break is just what the Doctor ordered but that you come back soon. Stay well.....

I will try and catch up with you all soon but have a lovely day, and you are all FAB!!

VinegarTinselTits · 07/12/2009 09:26

Oh poor Bella, have you got pain killers? get yourself dosed up until you can get yourself to the Dentist

Hello mitts, your very cheery for a Monday morning

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 07/12/2009 09:36

Yes... Bella, hope you get is sorted as soon as possible.

Yes, VT, I am manically perky, despite being shattered. Did you get a break this weekend? I haven't read the thread yet.

LizzyLordsALeaping · 07/12/2009 09:43

Oh Bella, poor you, I can completely sympathise, when I had toothe ache a few weeks ago it sent me stir crazy. I found alternating Ibuprofen (liquid tabs, faster) and Co-codamol helped.

Mitts, sounds lovely!

Yank, I feel like I've put about a stone on after this weekend and am retaining water like a sponge, I am wondering if I can go swimming tomorrow but still have unsightly coldsore so not sure if it would be OK? Mind you people might jump out the pool when they see my diseased face and I could have the pool to myself!

hellsbelles · 07/12/2009 09:45

poor Bella - tooth pain is so horrid. Bet you smell all lovely and christmassy with all that clove oil though

I'm going to brave gymboree today finally realised I'm being cruel not taking DD to anything. Everytime she sees another baby she squeals with excitment.

Mitts - you are sounding happy and cheery. I must check out st. pancras. We live really very near (and I constantly drive past it) but I haven't been in it for yonks. It is a beautiful building though. I can't remember quite how much it is but one of the flats in there is going for squillions of pounds.

VinegarTinselTits · 07/12/2009 10:03

I didnt get a break mitts, he came back twice! wouldnt settle on Friday night so xp bought him home, i toook him back to xp sat afternoon then got a phone call Sat night saying he wouldnt settle again and bought him back home

So no lie in for me this weekend

I dont know whats up with ds2 lately, he cried when i dropped him a nursery this morning too, has become very clingy all of a sudden

bellavita · 07/12/2009 10:11

Mitts - you are very perky!

VT - do you think he could be getting some back teeth through?

TinselianAstra · 07/12/2009 10:13

Morning all.

VinegarTinselTits · 07/12/2009 11:29

I dont know Bella, he has been ill a lot lately so that may be why he is a bit clingy, i am also worried because he has lost a lb in wieght in the last couple of weeks, he is so skinny, he does eat but mainly fruit, meat and beans

Afternoon ladies.

Good that you got a dentist appointment Bella, hope you get it all sorted tomorrow. And Vinny, I hope the wee man feels better soon, he'll need to get his strength up to open all those pressies on Christmas morning.

Am having a Boxing Day dilemma. Whether to invite my MIL and my dad on the same day for dinner....MIL in the past has had problems with looking down her nose at my family and causing major problems.....it's too long a story but DH and I can't agree. I say MIL should be expected to behave herself for one day otherwise I dunno when I will be able to see my dad.....DH doesn't want to risk her causing trouble and everyone falling out... Families eh?

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 07/12/2009 12:12

Yep, that other thread is bolleaux I reckon.

Well done Shiney on the healthiness!

TinselianAstra · 07/12/2009 12:17

If one person can't behave themselves then they should be the one not invited.

YanknChristmasCrackers · 07/12/2009 12:18

Lizzy, I'm also looking at swimming again now that pilates has ended till January. Want to take DS (3 months) so can't say it will be a lot of exercise, but at least I'll get over the whole 'thunderous orange peel thighs in a swimming costume' thing for when I do properly go!

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 07/12/2009 12:27

High five Trills, you are a lady who shares my own thoughts.....however MIL would be eternally, dramatically wounded and hurt because of course, she is the most perfect person in the entire world and must be prioritised at every opportunity

I am still so impressed with everyones swimming efforts on here. Am hoping some of the motivation will rub of on me after the New Year

hellsbelles · 07/12/2009 12:44

which is the banker thread (I can never work these things out by myself)

shiney - very impressive dear leader - have you given in and had a biscuit yet?

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 07/12/2009 12:54

Thanks for the christmas name suggestion Vinny

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 07/12/2009 12:55

That is a fabbo Christmas name Alice, perfect for you!

Hells, the one in r/ships, title "hundreds of bankers......"

VinegarTinselTits · 07/12/2009 12:56

I will be sending out one of my SS this afternoon, i still have to buy the other one yet, it was difficult shopping at the weekend with my shadow in tow

Your mil sounds like a pita squeezy

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 07/12/2009 13:13

To be fair, she has been alright since the last big fallout lately, it's the fear of putting spanners in the works. DH and I are gonna thrash it out talk about it later and find a solution I was dreading us all (not my dad, just us and MIL/FIL) going on holiday together but that turned out really well so maybe Boxing Day could be like that too.....adding my dad into the mix is the big fucking test last hurdle
