Ok, I did it. Guess what my DDs are watching over and over again at the moment?

Anyway, welcome to everyone to our healthy eating thread - trying to lose weight or just to life a healthier lifestyle (and chatting inanely along the way).

Anyone and everyone welcome, just so long as you're nice! We are not a clique and welcome newcomers, so please join us! But beware - this thread moves very fast - just leap right in

Hopefully this one will fill up particularly quickly so we can lose this rather shit title

hi everyone

just wanted to pop back and say a big thankyou to all of you that helped me get started with the healthy eating a couple of months back.

I have finally hit the 2 stone mark and this time next week will NEVER see 15 stone whatever on the scales again!

I am also going to ditch the xenical. I've been on it for 2 months but I dont think its having any real effect as Im eating a really low fat diet. So I'm switching to the gym instead, I enjoy it when I get there but its motivating myself to get there iyswim?

So if anyone has any tips or a swift kick up the backside that will spur me on to shift the next 2 stone they would be appreciated

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 06/10/2009 21:23

Vaca this is it. We are closing for 5 months at the end of this month for a major renovation project though.

JugularPiggy · 06/10/2009 21:24

after all this time on here i still can't strike words out

does more posting less lurking cure that?

hellsbelles · 06/10/2009 21:41

So I weigh in at 10 stone 12 - I want to be about 9 - 9 and a half.

Jugular - nice to see a success story here when I'm just starting out! 2 stone is fab!

SazZaVoom · 06/10/2009 22:05

Well done Piggy on the weight loss - 2 stone in a couple of months is brilliant . More exercise to combat the loss of Xenical help sounds great

Five - 5 months of renovations, sounds like the end result will be amazing. We are not too far away so will definitely bookmark for a visit next year

Hells - I would say start out with FF - will give you a good idea about how much you need to be eating/exercising to lose weight. I think many of us had this pretty distorted in our heads

Glad to hear the ab's are working their magic Shiney. Sounds like a very productive day unlike mine

BewareTheFullMoon · 06/10/2009 22:06

jugular are you a name change or were you here before me? Dont recognise you as being here so to speak expect i am being [dumb] but indulge me.

BewareTheFullMoon · 06/10/2009 22:07

ok that's it i need to get back on target of to find my scales...

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 06/10/2009 22:10

Evening ladies

Been busy crafting tonight. Nothing much to report, have been good food-wise, tuna omelet (how do you spell that?) for dinner.

Thanks for the recipe SaZaVoom, nice name by the way

SazZaVoom · 06/10/2009 22:13

BewareTheFullMoon · 06/10/2009 22:18

yipee i have finally lost weight down from 80kg to 77kg in about 2weeksish. or for those of you in old money i'm now about 12stone down from 12 1/2.
My resolution is to drink more water and eat less sugar. Oh and to get out walking. If people like i will keep a list of those exercising or not for the exercise challenge (bows to Alice's opinion) GBTM on that one. right have to grovel tomo someone else has done my work on the presentation. 1 assignment left and i am officailly allowed to be here.

SazZaVoom · 06/10/2009 22:23

Well done FullMoon - that's brilliant for 2 weeks. Mine is SOOOOOO slow atm

Good work on the presentations too

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 06/10/2009 22:46

Good for you Beware!!!!! That's fab

I am not going near scales for at least 2 weeks.

Quiet in here tonight....

BewareTheFullMoon · 06/10/2009 22:50

cant take any credit for presentations. i've done nothing towards them .
Sazz - tbh i have lost and put on that half stone about 4 times since i joined this thread back about julyish time. I am hoping i can keep it off long enough for it to count this time. Plus i might have lied about the 2 weeks as not sure when i was last brave enough to stand on scales. You will loose more but sometimes you just need to adjust first then give a kick start again. Maintaining is an art. and one i have yet to discover.

BewareTheFullMoon · 06/10/2009 22:52

tis quiet tonight but is always the way after a weekend of manic posting. People find they have to catch on rl and sleep. Will need to head off soon to.

DreamsInBinary · 07/10/2009 00:51

Arggghhhh, just spent three hours in A&E with DS. He hit his head in nursery, then spent the evening vomiting, so NHS Direct told me to go in.

All fine now, though. In fact, he's positively bouncy

I think Piggy is JigglyPiggy?

Night all

bellavita · 07/10/2009 06:17

Hi

Jugular and Beware - hey well done you too.

Dreams how awful for you. How is he now?

Hope all is well today for everyone - Shiney are you still on the mend and feeling even better than yesterday?

bellavita · 07/10/2009 06:17

See tis too bloody early - you two

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 07/10/2009 09:06

Seriously busy today and Ma and Pa are coming to tea so I am just popping in to say Hi.... especially to newcomers to the thread.

No advice to you Flamingo, I know doodly squat about selling houses except it seems mightily stressful.

Well done to those achieving weight loss and shiney it is so good to hear you are on the up...you deserve it.

I didn't go to kickboxing last night. I am chronically exhausted, so DC's Dad sat with them and I went to bed at 7.00 and didn't wake up till 7.00 this morning. It was very good of him and I feel a little more human.

Anyway. I really MUST get on so hope all have good days,

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 07/10/2009 09:07

Oh and sorry about DS Dib, I didn't see that. So he is perky now and you are probabaly shell shocked....Glad he seems OK...

hellsbelles · 07/10/2009 09:08

dreams - is he o.k. today?

I lost 2 lbs overnight - wtf is that about (and no I didn't go to the loo before weighting so no rude jokes please)

This is my favourite time of the whole week. I'm in the office all on my own - DH is at the gym, DS at school, DD with her nanny. And I can just concentrate on MNing work. Till the rest of the office start appearing at 9.30. total bliss!

Has anyone resorted to desperate measures yet? I know I have a set of 'think yourself thin' CD's somewhere that are still in their shiney packaging....but I've never listened to them - has anyone every tried anything like that? Or am I the only mug one to buy things like that??

TrillianSlasher · 07/10/2009 09:21

Hells - stop weighing all the time. It varies loadsduring the day. From now on you are allowed to weigh once a week, in the morning, post-pee, pre-breakfast. Okay?

hellsbelles · 07/10/2009 09:38

okay Trillian! I promise

Very upset because my blissful planned 30 mins of solitude was rudely interrupted by the bloody fire alarm and we all had to evacuate the building. Back in now after 10 mins shivering outside but now everyone else will start arriving and I really will have to work!

themitsubishi - that is quite some sleep - you must have needed it.

DreamsInBinary · 07/10/2009 09:57

Thanks

The Boy is a bundle of happy energy, whereas I am (as Mits guessed) frazzled. He slept in with us last night, for the first time ever, and good god can he wriggle

MavisGrind · 07/10/2009 09:57

Morning all, DIB - hope your ds is ok this morning.

Hells, I second not weighing yourself all the time and never in the evening (can make 5lbs difference to me).

Not much to report here, off to a friends house for curry and wine this evening - much needed and only my 2nd night out/in this year. Needless to say taking the dcs with me and we're going to try and get two 3 year olds to share a room. And actually get some sleep. Look out for my sleep deprived post sometime tomorrow!
