Ok, I did it. Guess what my DDs are watching over and over again at the moment?

Anyway, welcome to everyone to our healthy eating thread - trying to lose weight or just to life a healthier lifestyle (and chatting inanely along the way).

Anyone and everyone welcome, just so long as you're nice! We are not a clique and welcome newcomers, so please join us! But beware - this thread moves very fast - just leap right in

Hopefully this one will fill up particularly quickly so we can lose this rather shit title

Tea is on constant supply in this office. I am drinking tea. No sugar. I am only allowed sugar in my wake-up cup of tea.

SazZaVoom · 06/10/2009 11:32

Morning, just sweated copiously in a very unattractive fashion at the gym. Not sure why the gym bunnies do not suffer the sunset glow face i seem to manage . Bit like >>>> this

10k cycle, 2k row, 1k swim and 15 minutes wobbling my bits (that's powerplate )

I agree that MamaShiney should come and sort out some discipline for any little blighters DC's needing sorting and act as Seargent Major of eating and exercise

Dy'a think she be up for it Shiney? Obviously no hugs of thanks or any PDA's guaranteed!

LOL at vaca's typo

Right, must go shopping....

TrillianSlasher · 06/10/2009 11:36

Wow Sazz, I'm surprised you have enough energy to type!

Lizzylou · 06/10/2009 11:42

Just reading that has knackered me out, Sazz!

I sooo want a go on a powerplate!

Hope you are all good.

DH back this evening, have really missed him

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 06/10/2009 11:46

Morning ladies

Hope everyone is feeling a little better today. I agree with vaca's suggestion and shineys mum sounds like she'd probably be good with some make over suggestions too, which would help bring us closer to the goal of slim and glam!

2 slices of toast for brekkie. Am finding it hard staying away from sugary coffee. My friends dad gave us some lovely espresso coffee to bring back last week and it is going down too well. Have been making it into a large mug rather than a small espresso so will probably have withdrawal symptoms when it runs out

TrillianSlasher · 06/10/2009 11:47

I'd love to be a member of a nice gym (and ideally have more time to go to it) but haven't got the cash to splash. The one in the best location for me is about £46 a month if you get a good deal. There's also another one that's even nicer, but slightly further away (could still go there on the way home from work) but that's more like £55/month. I couldn't get the cheap off-peak membership cos I'm at work at those times.

We're not actually poor, I just have other things I want to do with my theoretical £50/month.

NormaSknockers · 06/10/2009 12:00

Don't feel Lizzy, I miss DH when he's on nights, I'm a saddo

Blimey Sazz how did you not keel over? And you're going shopping? I'd be to knackered to do anything let alone shop after that mammouth work out! Clearly the gym bunnies are not working hard enough if they don't get the sunset glow face

Have to agree Trills, I would loathe spending £50 a month on a gym membership. Quite lucky in that DH has a gym at work that he gets to use for free & is allowed to sig one person in with him too!

hellsbelles · 06/10/2009 12:03

blimey - posted this on the old thread by mistake and it worked? Is that deeply bad for a newbie to have the last word? I didn't mean it - sorry! Anyway....

Trillian - your poor DP. My parents split up when I was 28 - very odd...not unsettling in the way it is for little ones...but when you have had your parents together for so long and are smugly wrapped in the security blanket of thinking you are the offspring of a marriage for life it does make you question a lot of things.

The other major weird thing is that (in our case anyway) we had a horrendous role reversal...with me having to spend hours counseling Mum on the phone - she really did become almost child like and terribly needy (even though it was she that initiated the split) . And it was deeply having to deal with her dating again as she often found it necessary to give me far too much gruesome detail. In the end I had to ask her to lay off telling me about her sexual exploits ...for some reason hearing about your mothers sex life is just too much information . I feel for your poor DP for what lies ahead

TrillianSlasher · 06/10/2009 12:15

Thanks hells - I did see it. Well done for getting the final word!

I don't think MIL is likely to be telling us abut her sexual exploits (not really convinced she'll be having any and I'd prefer to keep that state of mind).

hellsbelles · 06/10/2009 12:38

I thought that too but oh how wrong I was!...hopefully you are right about MIL!

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 06/10/2009 12:39

My local gym (council run) is £2.90 for an hour. Bargain, and it's fab.

TrillianSlasher · 06/10/2009 12:45

I'm going to the public swimming pool at the moment - an adult session is £3.80!

Lizzylou · 06/10/2009 12:49

The joys of living oop north, £2.50 for a swim here.

My Mom divorced my Stepfather a couple of years ago and she has been back dating for a year. I have had to "sex up" her Match.com profile and on Saturday had to listen to her sex stories with her new man(on a kitchen table! ), She reckons that she is randier now due to the menopause.
Which sort of fills me with hope, but I do hope I remember how distressing "Oldie Sex" tales are to younger people!

NormaSknockers · 06/10/2009 12:56

I talk to my MIL quite frequently about sex, not in great detail but enough that we have a laugh about (not that it's funny oh you know what I mean) but would never dare talk to my own mother about sex, tbh I know enough about her sexual escapades as it is

BiteOfFun · 06/10/2009 13:04

Sex talk is Only For MN.

VineGruesomeTits · 06/10/2009 13:08

I cant keep up with you lot

NormaSknockers · 06/10/2009 13:09

Bum sex is definately only for MN - can't imagine anyone having that conversation IRL? Well aside from a girl I used to work with who used to take great delight in telling us about her rear end activities

NormaSknockers · 06/10/2009 13:10
TrillianSlasher · 06/10/2009 13:11

MIL is religious anyway - I'm surprised she is getting divorced at all, there's no way she will be talking about sex.

Lizzylou · 06/10/2009 13:12

Gawd, could never speak with MIL about sex
To be honest I was tidying away and humming to myself whilst my Mom revealed more and more the farther down the Cab Sauv bottle she got.
I don't tell her anything about me either!

hellsbelles · 06/10/2009 13:13

Do you think there will be a 'nanasnet' where they will talk about how they have sex all the time and how prudish their boring children are about it?!

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 06/10/2009 13:16

Sweet Mother of all that is holy!! You guys sure can talk some.

Thanks for the lovely comments about my post. It has been tough but reminding myself how far we have come is good from time to time.

My weight sits firmly about 1/2 stone over where I want it to be but I am not trying very hard. Too much gping o sometimes, but will put my backbone into it this week.

Trill, so sad for your DP, there is never a good time and it must be tough for you both.

The only place I really talk about sex is on MN where for some odd reason I lose myself in wild abandon and become a shameless strumpet....God, that sounds like fun

daftpunk · 06/10/2009 13:22

lol TMW....i always love the phrase

"lovers tryst"....makes you want to have one without really knowing what it is...

daftpunk · 06/10/2009 13:26

i have been shopping...from now on we are going to follow the mediterranean diet...

every day....full on..

DreamsInBinary · 06/10/2009 13:39

Mmm, just been to the new John Lewis that has opened about 2ft from the office.
