We do a book swap rather than book club, just bring in books that we have liked and pass them round.

Morning Shiney

DoNotBringLulu · 16/09/2009 11:14

Morning Shiney

I was disappointed as I only read the OP and wanted to post about feeding mine hot dog sausages with home grown tomatoes and convincing myself it's healthy. Then I saw it went pear shaped.

How are you?

BitOfFun · 16/09/2009 11:22

Hi everyone- not eating anything, but not moving much either as not well again- feel fluey (it will be the same as dd2, she is still off school).

Watching the horror of daytime tv and some young fella who appears to be missing half his head . It's going to give me nightmares...

IWantAChickAndADuck · 16/09/2009 11:24

HI... this is probably a bit off subject for this thread but I don't know how to start a new one . Actually maybe it's not, after Lulu's advice (thanks Lulu) about a gym/creche I'm now going to join the gym down the road which looks brill and had a fab creche (why didn't I think about this before?!) Anyway back to the point, DS1 does swimming lessons already, but they also do them at this gym at a better time (he's current lesson is 5pm on a Monday) but they are on a Wednesday....so his wednesday routine will be
nusery 9-12
toddler group 1.30-3 then
swimming 3.30-4.10 is this too much for a 3 and a half year old?

BitOfFun · 16/09/2009 11:30

Depends how full of beans he normally is, I guess. If you can keep him awake through teatime, he may well be fine and just sleep really wel (yay!)

Is it worth taking him for a free play swim session yourself at half three just to experiment before you sign him up?

DoNotBringLulu · 16/09/2009 11:34

Chickand Duck - the creche kept me sane!

3 and a half? You could try it and see how he goes.

You could leave out the toddler group and watch CBeebies instead

BoF Avoid Neighbours and Young Doctors. Sorry you're unwell.

Dd2 has gone suspiciously quiet- if she has crashed out in her room again, I may slope off to bed myself- see you later!

Funnily enough I an having a 'need red-bull' moment, but sadly can neither go to sleep or have a can, so am struggling on womanfully...

Enjoy your 'naps'.

vacaloca · 16/09/2009 12:20

Just finished my accounts. Thank fuck for that. I was going slightly insane there.

chickandduck - my 3.5yo does something similar - nursery 9 to 3.30 and then straight to ballet. She loves it but it does take it out of her and she's wiped afterwards and quite grumpy unless I plonk her straight in from of the telly afterwards and she seems to have gathered her strength in time for dinner.

NaughtyAlice - according to my pedometer I did about 10k walking yesterday but only 35min of it as aerobic. You reckon I can have a smiley for that? Prettyplease?

I weight about the same as when I stopped being good back in mid July. So at least I've lost all the summer nortyness now. Back to square one and hopefully start losing a bit more now. Off to check how much is 64.5k - is that 10st? I would like the sound of that if it is...

vacaloca · 16/09/2009 12:21

gah, it's 10st 2lbs. That's a shame...

SycamoretreeIsVile · 16/09/2009 12:48

Morning.

First nanny was a bit

Hope the one later today is better.

Off to collect DD from her first full morning into lunch - she had to choose from Cheese and Red onion quiche and Turkey meatballs with sweet and sour sauce with pasta.

So I'm going with a sandwich...

vacaloca · 16/09/2009 12:58

Syc. DD1 would also be a bit about those choices.

Btw, I went into town yesterday and saw the dolphin/heart sandwich cutter and bought it.

DD's party is on Saturday but her actual bday is during the week so I'm planning a birthday tea after school with 3 other friends. I'm going for a pink theme. I've just bought baby pink plates, cutlery, cups and napkins and will be serving party rings, pink wafers, pink milk, strawberry and marshmallow kebabs and pink cupcakes. Any other ideas?

FlamingoBingo · 16/09/2009 15:10

Slow on here today!

Picnic was nice - I'm going to be in the paper! Eek!

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 16/09/2009 16:28

Everyone is asleep FB..

Vaca......get someone to make your bread and have it died pink!

bellavita · 16/09/2009 16:28

In the paper Flamingo.... what have you been doing? >

Lizzylou · 16/09/2009 16:59

Hi all

Been busy trying to do work and not MN today, had quite a good day workwise.
Just spent a fortune on football stuff for DS1 as he is joining an under 6 team, costs a fortune.
Lulu, I've lost 10lbs.
Squeezy, we all need a blow out once in the while!

Hope you are all good and at sleeping and watching daytime TV.

Lizzylou · 16/09/2009 17:00

Oh and at your DD's pink party, Vaca.

With 2 boys I dream of pink sometimes, though am not at all a pink sparkly type of gal.

vacaloca · 16/09/2009 17:52

No, neither are we. I've no idea what got into me with all this pink stuff. I normally loathe it. I had 5 kids for tea the other day and there was a huge hoo-har about who got the one pink plate, so I'm overcompensating now.

Well done on your 10lbs!

TMW - pink bread? really?

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 16/09/2009 19:45

Well vaca, I've died mashed potatoes all sorts of colours so why not bread?

Iggi999 · 16/09/2009 19:55

Can I lower the tone? Just been on netmums (researching toddler beds, honest!) and there is an anal sex thread. Surely some mistake??
I am reading MN threads when I should be exercising [face of guilt and misery]
