Spins in dizzily.

Today has either been a diaster or a sick joke depending on how you look at it. My printer is currently going mad printing the stuff i didnt get ready before the photocopying deadline And i have a few slides to make up. Trust me I am not a perfectionist I am winging it and this lesson has the potential to end up as a riot. Thankfully the students are my fellow PGCE course members so it wont be dangerous if it all falls apart.

Ds had a presentation evening for the library summer reading challenge tonight - it appears he is scared of clapping and i have just discovered that the birthday party he is going to on saturday has an entertainer He hasnt coped this week and it is not looking like it is going to improve before sunday. It has just been one thing after another this week. There is nothing i can do about it but it will be interesting to see what the knock on at school is. Goodness knows what they think of all his bruises

Food wise has been an improvement, 3 chocolate bars and a baked potatoe with cheese, today plus an undisclosed volume of diet coke. could be worse could be a lot better. Needs improving.

bellavita · 15/09/2009 21:23

Fingers and toes crossed for you Lizzy

Brrr..... blimey a chill has come over me . Oh 'ello shiney.

Lizzylou · 15/09/2009 21:31

I'm sure you'll be great DEM, and hope your DS will be too.
Good news on the food front (have not exactly been Rosemary Conley meself recently!)

IWantAChickAndADuck · 15/09/2009 21:40

Thanks Mitsubishi... Have 7 month old that I don't fancy strapping on to the back of a bike, specially not on these roads! But am always breathless when I'm walking becuase I'm ALWAYS late!! Did that happen to everyone else when they had children, you become completley incapable of arriving on time for anything?! So... can I count the two 20 min stints of fast past walking as excercise (one was with heavy shopping bags?!)

And Lizzy you sound like an absoloutly fab mum.... I always doubt everything after a day filled with conversation about why the cats called Edward when he's called Edward (how the f* do you answer that?!) and subsquent conversations being spoken in 'dinasaur talk'.

DidEinsteinsMum · 15/09/2009 21:40

Yes but i bet you havent had a thermos of exploding soup recently it can be safely said that i am not my mother's favourite person right now and the lounge stinks!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/09/2009 21:47

Evening

Lizzy don't be hard on yourself. Days when you don't really speak to anyone are hideous. I end up talking to myself and feeling like I'm going bonkers.

Bella - mmmm, which muffins? I love making Nigella's cakes, never had anything come up less than wonderful, she never lets me down!

Jet - I would have a look on ebay and/or in some charity shops. Certainly worth getting one outfit that fits properly I think - you deserve it! Have you been measured for a bra recently? Will do more for your shape than anything to get a bra in the correct size.

TMW - I think I need to bite the bullet and get up earlier to do exercise before DS wakes up. I struggle with my black dog in the mornings and exercise does banish him at least temporarily. I can only exercise while DS is asleep though (apart from walking with the buggy), can't get much done with a toddler hanging onto my ankles!

I have been ok today. Not awful, not brilliant. Drinking some water now and then going to go to bed soon, I'm v.tired.

SycamoretreeIsVile · 15/09/2009 22:29

Big love to you all.

I've been sucked in the fucking bad mothers thread and RL been busy.

Not eating great but no going wildly off track.

At a giant chocolate coin today thought that I found in Ds's changing bag. I think I bought it in starbucks about 2 months ago when I was anticipating kick off from DS...obviously he didn't . Poor little man will never know what he could have had, had he only whinged more whilst going rounds sainbos

SycamoretreeIsVile · 15/09/2009 22:36

Just caught up a bit. Big kiss to LizzyLou.

Listen, I went through a really bad 2/3 months recently. Money worries driving me crazy - DH permanently ebaying anything that wasn't nailed down etc. It is hairy and incredibly stressful. Money worries pervade all of your life and DH and I just had to put the old horses blinkers on and just keep plodding, plodding, plodding along with our eyes on the horizon.

It can feel so far away, but if you can even visualise a pin point of light on the horizon, just fix on it, get your head down, and one day you WILL get there.

I know I've bored you all to death with my childcare issues on this thread already but bless you so much re your CM. I think you need to flip that on it's head and consider what a fucking marvellous mother you are to have found such a brilliant CM...and what happy, secure well adjusted boys you have that have settled so well with her and can treat her like a part of their family. Surely that's the kind of childcare we all dram of haing?

Oh, and watch out - syrup love bomb, extra glitter flying over head and about so explode all over you

SycamoretreeIsVile · 15/09/2009 22:38

Look, I went all Scottish for you then lol! Dram of Haing????

Dream of having, obviously.

DidEinsteinsMum · 15/09/2009 22:39

cool, Gitter bombs ahoy!

where's Dib when you need her?

SycamoretreeIsVile · 15/09/2009 22:43

Aw, I know

Am going to get a lava lamp-esque super-soaker to precision launch all syrup bombs in future

vacaloca · 15/09/2009 23:31

Only just caught up with the last few messages.

LizzyLou - big hug to you. I also set up my own business 5 years ago now and I have to say I find it quite lonely too. Some days I really struggle. Probably the reason I end up on MN so much...

It must be hard for you when DS asks for his CM when he's ill. Mine will ask for anyone but me, normally daddy. As a toddler DD1 would fall over, cry and then run to the nearest stranger instead of me. All very for me.

DidEinsteinsMum · 15/09/2009 23:56

Right lesson preped and sorted. Trying to back onto network but it seems to be down. Have had to make alternative plans to using powerpoint anyway so am not going to panic if it dont work tomo.

Back to reality -
DontBring: Dingle Dangle scarecrow is not a new song it was about when i was a toddler (playschool)
Lizzy: I know what you mean about feeling jelous. I would love to pick ds up from school when i have that rare opportunity of an early finish. Unfortunatly, whilst it would be nice it is not something that ds can cope with and the result is chaos and diaster and not worth the 10mins of enjoying the pick up compared to the evening of resultant diaster. Saying that i know i finish early on friday so hoping i can prep him for picking him up then. Unpredictable is something ds just cant handle and no matter how i feel i have to respect that
Congrats to all have lot weight (my memory is failing and i am about to head to bed. Just a few chores and then sleep)

DidEinsteinsMum · 16/09/2009 00:34

bellavita · 16/09/2009 06:17

Morning, just a quick post whilst I drink my coffee.

Ali - tis the christmas morning muffins from the Domestic Goddess book - although I only had lemons and not oranges or clementines, but they still taste lovely.

Just made my yoghurt breakfast for when I get out of the shower. Sandwiches for lunch and roast pork for tea.

Hope you are all well and see you later after I have finished work.

Lizzylou · 16/09/2009 07:41

Goodness, thanks so much for your kind words, truly it means a lot.

Feeling far more positive today, will kick some ass work wise and try and get some more Ebayable stuff sorted.

I weighed this morning, have stayed the same so that is good, will have to get out and do some exercise.

DEM, exploding soup????????

Loving the syrupy glitter bomb, thanks Syc

FlamingoBingo · 16/09/2009 08:15

SAZZLES! My email won't work so I can't email you, but we're in Stratford Park at the HE picnic at the bandstand 12-2 if you want to come and laugh wave at us!

FlamingoBingo · 16/09/2009 08:20

Nothing to report. I am boring.

DreamsInBinary · 16/09/2009 09:02

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 16/09/2009 09:09

Hi all,

-groan-

that is about it so far this morning!

This thread is awfully sticky and the glitter is everywhere!!

DoNotBringLulu · 16/09/2009 10:23

Morning all,

Lizzy - well done at staying the same on your weigh-in. Keeping it off after losing it is just as much of a challenge. Remind me of how much you lost again?

Glad you are feeling better today. I am knackered didn't go to sleep that early and was kept awake by dh's snoring.

Alice - if you see this, I did aerobics yesterday, and went for a brisk walk on Friday, so that's x2. Was it x4 or x5 per week?

TMW - what is kickboxing like?

I used to be able to bounce through aerobics at high impact, but only managed half an hour of keeping pace at the top level.

Chickand Duck - I mentioned the idea of creche attached to the leisure centre. I used to do that when mine were little.

DoNotBringLulu · 16/09/2009 10:24

I have plenty of red glitter to sprinkle around will save it going up my hoover

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 16/09/2009 10:29

Well, what I am doing at the moment is a sort of keepfit course based on Kickboxing. (a bit like boxercise). It is fabulous, really helps deal with negativity, I am going to save up to have some one to one classes which eventually means I could 'spar' if I wanted. (Have to decide how I feel about being clonked first.

It is so intensive we usually all wind up falling about laughing with the exertion.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/09/2009 10:33

Lizzy well done on staying the same, it is tough being self employed and lonely, sometimes all I see is DC's and DH.

Went out to my Book Club in the pub last night, was very good, lots of water, 2 small glasses of wine and scallops ratouille and a few baby roast potatoes. Weigh in is tonight.

Alice - just done 1 hour and 15 mins hacking shrubs and trees in garden and sweating does that count?

DoNotBringLulu · 16/09/2009 10:43

TMW - I can imagine it does help deal with frustrations as well. I did Body Combat based on martial arts for a while. So when you spar you have to concentrate on not getting clonked, so that would keep anyone's mind off stuff.

What book are you reading, FiveGoMad? I go to a book club once a month and we are reading one that is not that good IMO.

Nice weather here, we are not far from you.
