I think this is thread 10. We are an unruly bunch of MNetters trying to shed a lot a little or just some pounds through a variety of methods. Others just trying to eat healthily.

Newcomers most definitely welcome, just be advised the post rate is insane so be sure to check in regularly!

Our hostess Ms Diamond will be along soon I'm sure.

LTR - me too! I love it!

Sazzles, 3lb of fat is over 10,000 calories, so it's likely that's it's mostly water and glycogen, those are the pounds you lose loads of in the first couple weeks of a diet, so they should go quicker.
It's unfortunate that losing weight isn't as simple as calories in v. calories out, there's so many variables that affects it.

It's going to be lovely tomorrow and Thursday - stop moaning!

We're all packed. DH is just doing odd things in the kitchen so it doesn't smell when we get back! It still will though - why is that? However diligent you are, your kitchen/house still stinks when you get back from being away for a few days?

Sazzles - grr re. that 3lb! how frustrating! I bought nuts at Tesco - now just have to try to stop myself guzzling the lot!

I found a hairdresser and I now have a very lovely, short bob - £14

TrillianAstra · 04/08/2009 13:53

Work took us out for a pub lunch. I had pub curry. It was tasty. Probably not the best choice since I am out for dinner with friends this evening.

I was 9 stone 12 1/4 this morning. I am going to do a week without FF. Not denying myself when there are good opportunities but trying not to go back to very bad eating habits either. We'll see how it goes.

I miss being at home and MNing a lot, but I like being at work too.

TrillianAstra · 04/08/2009 13:54

Well done on having your hair cut and actualy liking it Flamingo!

Oh well Sazzles! That'll be it then!

Lizzylou · 04/08/2009 14:10

Sazzles, it'll be your period being due, they used to call it your "Star week" at SW, which used to make me giggle like a school girl (along with the constant talk of constipation).

I have done a yoga DVD which was recommended on here: "Yoga for Weight Loss" by Kisen (he taught Geri Halliwell dontcha know), as there is no yoga section on FF (and as it was bloody hard work as I am not even vaguely bendy), I have logged it as Tai Chi, do you think that's OK? It's only given me an extra 164 cals, but yoga and Tai Chi are similar, right?

Flamingo, seems the only way back from an MN haircut is to bob as that's what I did

TrillianAstra · 04/08/2009 14:14

Ugh, I am so sluggish now after lunch and I want to get stuff done. You don't care, do you, you'll all just do green faces at me for having eaten pub food.

Where are the naughty girls? I need sympathy for soemthign that's entirely my own fault.

Yoga and tau chi sounds like a good substitute Lizzy.

Hi all.

Right. Have registered for the food focus thing. I've put in everything I've eaten so far today and what I'm having for tea tonight.

Do you put drinks into it too?

As far as I can make out, I've got 111 calories left over.

Does that mean I can rest assured that today, my first day, I should definately lose weight???

I've definately been more aware of what I'm eating and doing. Seeing it in black and white is a bit of a shock tbh.

Found myself running up and down the stairs just for the hell of it so I could put it down!!

TrillianAstra · 04/08/2009 14:28

Yes, put in drinks! More cals in drinks than you think!

They were only tiny mini poppadoms Sazzles, but there was tons of mango chutney.

Oh bugger it!

Put my drinks in then remembered the raisin toast I had as a snack earlier. I'm now in calorie debt!

Going to do some more running up and down the stairs and maybe the hoovering to bring it back down.

That'll teach me for feeling smug!

wastingmyejumication · 04/08/2009 14:44

I've just checked and I think there's more calories in J20 than in lager! I drank water at the pub on Sunday, I'm not touching J20 again!

TrillianAstra · 04/08/2009 14:58

I've just made 4 cups very large mugs of tea. Not all for me.

TrillianAstra · 04/08/2009 15:16

Punky stop calling people on other threads men. You can get in trouble for that sort of thing

(putting that here and not there in case people think we are ganging up or something just cos we're in a cult together)

jetcat32 · 04/08/2009 15:20

mmmmmmm, mango chutney!! I just very nearly bought some at the shop - though i admit i didnt look at the nutritional info Was looking for something to make my chicken pitta salads less boring inspire me for tea Ended up with picallili - though not too sure what i am going to do with it yet

I have sky plussed a low impact aerobics session, which lasts for 40 mins. Did that for the first time this morning - bloomin heck it was hard work[ Will i ever get to a weight place where exercise doesnt leave me bright red and gasping for breath

what with everything going on in RL taking so much out of me emotionally, i am struggling a little bit to be so disciplined as when i first started. Am really scared of next weigh in - and feel that i have entirely wasted the last week, losing weight wise, and need to get back on track

SycamoretreeIsFullOfResolve · 04/08/2009 16:10

Jaq, don't be daft, you don't need to post me anything

wastingmyejumication - good to know there is a fellow fan out there!! Most seem to have never heard of it and it's such a great show! I cry most nights watching it, I think I get a tad emotionally involved!

bellavita · 04/08/2009 16:46

My friend went about half an hour ago - I think she got routed to the chair . All I could think of was that I had this bloody cake to make to take to work tonight (I sort of promised them) and kept taking a cheeky look at my watch and groaning . I love her to bits by the way. Funny thing is though that when we were young, she was the skinniest girl in the world and I was the fat one. She is made of sturdier stuff these days... bless her! I am not judging her by the way, it is just funny how things turn out eh!

SycamoretreeIsFullOfResolve · 04/08/2009 17:48
