I think this is thread 10. We are an unruly bunch of MNetters trying to shed a lot a little or just some pounds through a variety of methods. Others just trying to eat healthily.

Newcomers most definitely welcome, just be advised the post rate is insane so be sure to check in regularly!

Our hostess Ms Diamond will be along soon I'm sure.

@vinegartits - your username is great/bizarre - was admiring it last night

my goals by the way. scales today said 9st11 just over but experience tells me that can suddenly tip up to 10st very easily. would like to get to 9st7 and STAY there. most important thing is to stop going up and down for me. have lost quite a bit in stages now just keep yo-yo ing between 9st 10 which is and 10st 10 and sick of it - need to get control. winter is the worst for me.

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 12:29

go into bad patches where i crave sugar like mad particularly at night and want to eat chocolate in bed

sorry to go on will stop now

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 12:32

jetcat does that mean you've lost 2 stone already?

Marthasmama · 03/08/2009 12:33

ella - A handful of Brazil nuts can often sate the craving for something sweet. They are fatty but very very good for you. Or try getting something a bit healthier like very dark chocolate which you only need a tiny bit of to sate a craving.

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 12:35

yeah i find the dark choc works - it doesn't make you want to keep eating eating eating like the other stuff and isn't full of so much rubbish.

had brazil nuts around when i was pregnant and also at a point when i couldn't eat at all and needed to get good stuff in easy. will try try it. thanks

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 12:36

also find, as much as you should avoid that too, that if i have to have something sweet in the house a small bowl of ice-cream can satiate it with less calories and has the bonus of i can't take it to bed and have it under my pillow

Lizzylou · 03/08/2009 12:40

Oh God, have just burnt off loads of calories in utter shame and embarrassment.
Have just sent an email to my DH basically moaning about my business partner cocking up our database (which I found out afterwards he hadn't) and forgot that I'd not taken off the message filter since coming back off holidays last week.
So he got the email

He is a lovely man, not great at IT though and the email wasn't sooo bad, but am really upset that I have offended him now.

Hi Flamingo - I'll go tomorrow. THere is another class then. My friend who I normally go with is on hols this week so I just didn't fancy a trip into town with DS alone (did go to the local designer outlet though - that was much more appealing!!).

Feeling quite good now though, have eaten healthy lunch and have planned yummy slimming tea.

DS just waking up from nap (how the hell do I get the little bugger darling to sleep longer than 45 mins!!!???) - see y'all later.

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 12:52

bye mycat

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 12:53

whoops lizzy!

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 12:55

going to make risotto for mine and sons dinner tonight - surprises me how many calories are in rice! but not adding fats or anything and just veg and a little chicken so think it's ok

Lizzylou · 03/08/2009 12:56

Well, he's been very gracious about it all now, but I am still shaking.
He put all the money in to set us up, so the last thing I'd want to do would be to upset him (besides the fact that he is a lovely person).

Anyhow....all this talk of chocolate and ice cream has meant that I am famished, off to scavenge some lunch.

Loving the name, Mycat

Ella, can you really just eat a square or two of choc and not the whole bar?
No willpower me

Hi. Back from PILs. Supposed to be going into work in a minute. Should I read to the end of the last thread or jst start with this one? Don't want to think I missed anything. Was there debauchery at Reality's party?

Hello all the newbies

Back from town - boys are "can I, can I, I want, I want", but even I had a stroke of the new I-Phone tis tres fab >. When we get back from hols, I will be without pay for three weeks, so maybe when I start my new job and get some spondooleys, may have to treat myself.

Having the left over butternut squash soup from yesterday.

Chicken salad for tea.

VinegarTits · 03/08/2009 13:09

I give up with FeckFocus, load of shite, doesnt even recognise 'chilli'

I want to enter a chilli, as in a fresh chilli, and it comes up with shite all useful

Well good luck with that one, even i haven't heard of a 'chiii'

MotherPi · 03/08/2009 13:13

In the spirit of re-introductions - I've been on here since the first thread, I think, but tend to post little and often. I'm 5'7'' and weight 10st 8lbs, which is a loss of (er, how many pounds in a stone?!) about 12 lbs. Not bad, considering how often I cheat

Need to stay focussed, as I'm great at starting the new trend, but get a bit shit at continuing through the harder stuff. Would like to get down to 10 stone and am getting married at the end of the month so should start crash-dieting now...
