Yes-you have been feeling that for a long time but have been getting too involved with the why and wheres of how much you ENJOY smoking-forget all that-you brought her in to this world-you OWE it to her to stop-my Mum was a single parent and used to smoke in the bed with me-I liked the smell-it smelt of her and I loved her but I hated her for all the times she pathetically tried to give up,snapped at me,started again, blame me-I would feel it was my fault for her starting again-SO not fair!

dropinthe · 18/05/2005 22:41

Please make this the time you stop for good-all of you-its the most important thing you can do for yourself and your lovely children. Have got to go now as want to cry-(and DH giving me daggers)-MML-we MUST catch up about life, the universe and everything Saaaarth London-its my roots and I have a lot of tales to tell!!
Good Luck for tommorrow-please keep with it-I PROMISE it gets ALOT better after 5-7 days-keep focused-really look at your daughter-she needs you now and she will need you when you are 70! Make sure you get there for HER sake,eh?

Sorry MLL for not respondng last night but I went to bed early.

I smoked around 15-20 a day for 18 years (gave up when preggers though - it made me fel sick).

To be honest I'm stopping because it makes me feel like cr@#. My chest hurts a lot and I wheeze a lot and at 36 I think this is too young to be like that. A;so DS (2.5) had started commenting on me smoking which scared me I guess .

TO be honest the first three days were the worst - felt awful and shouted so loud at my son . I have been fine the last three days - I do get craving but they seem to pass quicker - I am just hoping that it gets even easier as time goes on.

Anyway it is 4:51 (I coudn't sleep) so I had better get back to bed and see if I can catch up on a few zzzzz before DS wakes

good luck today

Brave accounts here.

Good luck all with your perseverance.

And welcome to 'non-smoker' country.

HANG IN THERE.

teeavee · 19/05/2005 09:45

mummylonglegs, you're doing very well - every day without smoking is improving your health and everyone else's health around you.
persevere - it is really worth it.
(and buy some chewing gum?)

MoggyMummy · 19/05/2005 10:13

Yes apparently insomnia is part of the withdrawal - however it should only last a week or so.

I wish I could provide you with more words of wisdom and support but I don't know what to say except that I know exactly what you are going through and am sending you loads of good vibes

flum · 19/05/2005 10:35
