Confession coming up...

I'm not going to take the anti-depressants. My instincts are screaming at me not to take them. I'm only taking them to protect the children on my bad days.

Sooooo......instead.....my family, DH's family, DH and I have come up with a plan so that I have someone to call on, or someone actually with me already, when I have bad days. I've only got Mondays on my own now, and on those days, I'll retreat to my mum's if I get bad, and she can be the adult, instead of me!

You lot are lovely people.

As you were!

Flamingo, I am sorry I did not get the chance to say yesterday that I was sorry you were feeling so low and to wish you good luck at the Doctors.

I am so glad he/she was sympathetic and hope the pills don't make you feel rough for long.

BalloonSlayer · 17/06/2009 17:56

x-post Flamingo! Apologies

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 17/06/2009 18:03

shine on - you made me laugh. Thanks.

Is SlimFast so bad, just to get me started?

I can't weigh myself - honestly, have no scales in the house. I live with a house of skinnies.

bellavita · 17/06/2009 18:07

Hi LightShines

Flamingo - sounds like a good plan!

flamingobingo · 17/06/2009 18:09

obv not crap

FairMidden · 17/06/2009 19:09

Thing is, LightShines, Slimfast isn't a long term thing. And to make permanent changes I reckon you need to go into this with a long term view. Shorter term goals are fair enough but the whole thing about keeping it off means i guess you need to start as you hope to go on. And you can't live on Slimfast forever!

As a binge/junk eater, I like being able to say to myself "I can eat as much of that as I like" about fruit and veg. Slimfast seems to involve denying yourself a lot of stuff (ie all day apart from the "proper dinner", which, in my case, might well be a Chinese !). I don't think long term denial is necessary, just learning about self control and a different attitude to food.

I am a long, long way off cracking this thing, but those are my thoughts so far

Gorgeous girls - a quick post before I disappear off to the R.C.

(no, that's not you Daftpunk )

Tis where my diet is likely to go a little astray but I've been v. good for breakfast and lunch and bar two mini choc brownies feel ok about indulging a little tonight.

Quick high to the new joiners to the thread - the more of us are on here, the more likely we are to succeed!

I am in a dress tonight I gave to my size 10 sister about 5 years ago as was sure I would never get back into it.

It was always a bit big for her so she gave it back the other month.

Now I'm in it and feeling great.

Sorry to be absent today. Will defo post properly when I'm in tonight and have a read of how everyone is doing.

Kisses bitches - xoxo GUGIRL (not)

Taken on comments about the SlimFast, I just wanted to sort of give myself a jump start.

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 17/06/2009 19:34

That is why I have bought some today.

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 17/06/2009 19:41

FBGIB - what flavour did you get?!

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 17/06/2009 19:42

Ready made banoffee milk shake which was delish and banana or vanilla powder.

harleyd · 17/06/2009 19:42

LightShinesInTheDarkness · 17/06/2009 19:44

harleyd · 17/06/2009 19:46

nah i only ever took slimfast for about a week, about 10 years ago when i was going on holiday (was size 8 at the time, what the hell was i thinking )

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 17/06/2009 19:48

I had a chocolate caramel bar which was yummy and some pretzel looking things that I haven't had yet.

TrillianAstra · 17/06/2009 20:13

Hi all, am having curry for dinner, made with Patak's curry paste (155 cals) then onions, tomatoes, and some chicken breast. Also waiting for Tesco delivery to arrive.

Had job interview straight after work, went pretty well I think, seemed like a fun place to work (unsure on MNing potential). Fingers crossed anyway.

Welcome new shiney happy people!

Hello LightShines!

I would strongly recommend getting scales. I was terribly resistant to them (I just didn't want to know) but seeing exactly where you are is the firmest foundation on which to start this change.

Ford Focus is amazing. I have become quite obsessed. Lovely graphs (for those that like that sort of thing) and it's a real eye-opener. It has an 'unbranded' option, too, so if you can't be arsed to enter all the ingredients of your spaghetti bolognese, then you can just choose the generic one.

Shiney - why not try MrChristian one more time? He might jump on you and surprise you.

BalloonSlayer · 17/06/2009 20:35

(That was in place of confessing what I have eaten today, which, although not a lot, was all bad.)
