Wake Pea Up Before you Goji - 10/10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I think mine was a bit over a year. In fact yes it was because I had one and then that was it I still get ovulation pains though.

I saw those shoes you like in Hay-on-Wye of all places. I nearly phoned your dp to check but I was pretty certain they were Teal NOT TURQUOISE.

FrannyandZooey · 13/06/2009 19:40

oh guad LOL i will link you to my big shameful crow pie thread
or actually i will just tell you:
i have them
teal and turquoise are THE SAME [appalled]
they are the most uncomfortable fucking shoes i have worn for a long long time

now you can have a nice slice of schadenfreude

Guadalupe · 13/06/2009 19:49

ROFL - You big weirdy fusspot. I can't believe even I was standing there thinking they are Teal NOT turquiose because when I first saw your thread I thought they were the same freaking colour. You brainwashed us all.

SuperBunny · 13/06/2009 19:51

Guad, I have questions I want to ask but don't want to upset you... they are probably silly questions anyway.

I got chickpeas out of the freezer and don't know why. I have nothing to eat them with.

Guadalupe · 13/06/2009 20:02

About chickpeas?

FrannyandZooey · 13/06/2009 20:08

oh it's brilliant
people that have never met me (i know you have but there are others!) standing looking at shoes considering whether they are the EXACT shade i want
it's a control freak's wet dream

Guadalupe · 13/06/2009 20:12

Well, I didn't hang about too long I must say. The book shops were calling me.

SuperBunny · 13/06/2009 20:13

No! It was about ovaries & stuff. I didn't think about chickpeas being potentially upsetting too

FrayedKnot · 13/06/2009 20:22

SB what have you got? I'm sure we can think of somehting. Make a list of your fridge / store cupboard contents.

I have got a sore throat

How can I possibly have one AGAIN? I had one a fortnight ago and then a horrible cold.

I missed the shoe colour debate. Should I go back and familiarize myself before tomorrow?

SuperBunny · 13/06/2009 20:28

Erm, I have hummous, 2 bananas and some grapes (red) and brown rice. Potential there for something delicious, no?

pointydog · 13/06/2009 20:30

got any carrot or toast?

mollyroger · 13/06/2009 20:36

dh just counted our veggie goodness for dinner. Reader, we acheived 11!!
(and you'd have to have mnet dh to realise how great an effect you lot have had on us - he counted!)

Guad - solfest was so great. I miss you all sometimes....

when we win the lottery tonight, we will buy Fruitloop Mansion, possibly in Dorset, and we will have lovely meet-ups with hay bales and campfuires and bunting and cider and games for the children, and swimming in the natural swimming pond and fiddles and fabulous fabulous food, dahlings.

FrayedKnot · 13/06/2009 20:40

Ah ha! Crunchy hoummous!

(Mix the whole chickpeas in with the hoummous).

But you need something to go with it.

pointydog · 13/06/2009 20:41

you need toast or carrot

pointydog · 13/06/2009 20:41

or poratoes to roast wedges

FrayedKnot · 13/06/2009 20:43

Wouldn;t that be great, Moll

Fingers x

FrayedKnot · 13/06/2009 20:44

SB I think POinty is trying to say you need chips

Guadalupe · 13/06/2009 21:52

SB - I would save the chickpeas until tomorrow and buy some lemon and parsley, unless you have stuff for chickpea stew to have with rice. Or houmous on toast, or even better marmite on toast. Joking aside, what did you want to ask?

What is weather meant to be like tomorrow, anyone know?

FrannyandZooey · 13/06/2009 21:55

v hot
i shall melt
please mop me up and send me home

FrayedKnot · 13/06/2009 21:55

BBC says full sun 21 degrees

FrayedKnot · 13/06/2009 21:56

I may have to revise packing list

I had not thought about bringing a gazebo

and a mop

FrayedKnot · 13/06/2009 22:02

Right am going to sort stuff and then bed.

Bon voyage everyone!

SuperBunny · 13/06/2009 22:03

Erm, they're not chickpeas. They turned out to be cannelini beans. I like the chips idea best. But we don't have chippies over here

FrannyandZooey · 13/06/2009 22:15

i am probably going to arrive late
this is a bit pfb but could we sit somewhere that has at least some shade please? do you think that's possible?
i would be v embarrassed to arrive and find you all in glorious sunshine and try to get you to pack up all your scones and move

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 13/06/2009 22:23

A quick post before I'm off to bed.

Have a lovely day tomorrow veggers I'll be thinking of you

ha ha ha, that would also be me asking to sit in some shade

Bugger about the mittleschmerz, I'm expecting it to return at Lemur Towers soon.

Guad your holiday sounds blissful. We really need to get away this year.
