For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I would like some shade too. I am sure there will be a suitable tree somewhere.

I hope you are not all bringing wonderful homamade stuff. I am going to the shop on the way. Anyone like welshcakes? I have loads of those.

Guadalupe · 13/06/2009 22:25

CKelpie · 13/06/2009 22:51

Unfortunately I did not get a good start to my F&V day...

As part of my cooked breakfast I had half a portion each of mushrooms and courgettes.
Lunch, I compensated with a gigantic plate of salad which I am going to class as 2.
Banana
Tomatoes
Half an onion

FrannyandZooey · 13/06/2009 22:53

courgettes for breakfast is quite good though

right can we have some build up to the small big meet up?
anyone excited? nervous? waxing their moustache? is anyone coming who we haven't met before? did someone say LULLY was coming???

TooTicky · 13/06/2009 22:55

oh, Have you all got everything? have fun, be nice to each other, don't get sunburned !

ds1 (11) came home from town-with-friends adventure yesterday with THE most psychadaelic Jimi Hendrix poster. It's going to look most odd in his bedroom which is still mostly a very touchingly little boys' room...
He also bought a load of those little button badges for his school bag - most of which are NOT suitable for school.(Jesus loves you, everyone else thinks you're an asshole - nice for a CofE Primary, dontcha think?)

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 14/06/2009 17:31

Where did DS1 get his badge/pin things from molly? ..I like that one!

Hope a good time is being had by all..
