For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Thank you for your thoughts. And the hug

I do apologise to them, and tell them he was in the wrong and shouldn't have said what he did.
If I say to him that he shouldn't speak to them that way, he says, "Right, let's see you sort it out then, since your methods are so much better." and he stands, hands sarcastically on hips, waiting.
And if the children don't cooperate instantly he starts going on about shouting being the only thing they understand.

Oh crap.

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2009 20:59

i have blanked it guad

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2009 21:03

well. it isn't terribly helpful to you but i would not stay in that situation if there was any other alternative at all

dunnoanymore · 24/06/2009 21:03

Franny

dunnoanymore · 24/06/2009 21:04

The faces were for the hat thing.

Thank you Mits

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2009 21:07

you knew i would say that though
you DO know, it's no good saying you dunno

pinkspottywellies · 24/06/2009 21:16

Franny. I've just emailed you - can you have a look please.

Dunno Not ok. Hope you can deal with it (hugs)

Half a banana, bean and veg stew (3-4), raisins. Oh dear!

4 oz of ebm down the sink again DS is not a big fan of having a bottle.

Guadalupe · 24/06/2009 21:46

Why are you expressing, Pink? Are you going back to work soon?

Hugh Fearnly wotsit is eating strawberries with peanut butter. Hmm.

Jeez, now it's strawberries and mushrooms and smoked strawberries. He's gone all Heston.

SuperBunny · 24/06/2009 21:48

Oh, pink Pouring away EBM is like pouring away gold. Can he have it in a cup? Or one of those sippy things? DS would never take a bottle but would sometimes drink from another type of vessel.

SuperBunny · 24/06/2009 21:50

I suppose strawberries and peanut butter is a bit like peanut butter and jelly. Sort of. But why ruin strawberries? I know people who have blueberry and peanut butter sandwiches.

Guadalupe · 24/06/2009 21:52

Ew. Weird. But then I only like my peanut butter with marmite though I have been known to eat it on an oat cake with banana.

FrayedKnot · 24/06/2009 21:54

I thought strawberries & peanut butter sounded like quite a good combination

Having become a recent convert to nut butters in general

pointydog · 24/06/2009 21:54

dunno, that doesn't sound good at all. It all sound svery aggressive and stressful for you and the children.

pointydog · 24/06/2009 21:57

@ franny and The Hat. It must be quite tricky to take off a mad large floppy yellow hat while showing a genuinely sorry face

pointydog · 24/06/2009 21:58

I hit ten once more, by the way

sultanas
nectarine
banana
mixed salad
carrots
banana
beetroot
tomatoes
olives
apple

huzzah

Guadalupe · 24/06/2009 22:03

I like the sound of the hat.

I want to know what she said though. I think you should sit down quietly and try to remember.

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2009 22:14

well
i kind of snatched it off as if it had burnt me
looking at it now this wasn't the best move - if i had kept it on and smiled at her roguishly we could have pretended that complete strangers often put on each other's hats and mock them
i kept saying "sorry, i thought it was HER'S"
i honestly can't remember what she said
i think i gabbled at her
she was very nice about it

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2009 22:15

it was a damn nice hat
bonkers though

Guadalupe · 24/06/2009 22:17

I think I need a yellow hat.

I bet you will end up being friends with the woman now.

Franny - why are goji berries good? They are like little shits.

pinkspottywellies · 24/06/2009 22:18

at 'It must be quite tricky to take off a mad large floppy yellow hat while showing a genuinely sorry face' and again at 'I want to know what she said though. I think you should sit down quietly and try to remember'

Expressing cause then I sometimes don't have to be the only one Guad. Feel a bit overwhelmed sometimes. Also if I want to go out, he's a bit random with bedtimes at the minute (like 9.45 and 9pm this week ) So can't really plan anything. DD just took to it straight away so I had flexibility.

It doesn't matter. He doesn't need to have it. Would just be nice if he would I did try with a cup earlier when I'd just expressed it. He was similarly underwhelmed!

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2009 22:19

they're revolting aren't they
i think they're like soapy wood
i am proud to say i have never been taken in by them

i think hat woman was someone's SIL
from poland i think
lawks i am cringing at it

pinkspottywellies · 24/06/2009 22:20

Goji berries taste a bit like perfume. I got them in my first graze box. My step-dad is starting radiotherapy for 8 weeks on Monday. I've decided to send him a graze box every friday to celebrate another week finished

FrannyandZooey · 24/06/2009 22:22

what a lovely idea pink
i have banned goji berries from mine
they are the devil's pellets

Guadalupe · 24/06/2009 22:29

Do you know, they are quite nie in those raw chocolate bars that are criminally expensive but supposedly good for you. Maybe because the rawness is so bad it makes the goji seem okay.

On their own though, bleuuurggh.

I see, Pink. I gave ds1 a bottle to make it easier too but dd would never take one, and not any kind of other milk ever in fact. She still won't drink it. I gave up with her because in trying to make it easier it was making it hard! When I felt like that I would try and remember that at least all the feeding meant I could sit down and relax but I know thta feeling of dependance. It can be overwhelming.

Guadalupe · 24/06/2009 22:30

nice even
