For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Well done TF! Are you feeling any better with the ms? You must be coming up to your last trimester Where are you going to have your lo?

Baby Lemur had an exciting day yesterday. the IL's took him out for a few hours and checked before they went if it was ok for him to have some ice-cream. I said yes, just let him have a few licks of yours.

Anyway, they got back and had had a lovely time. Baby Lemur then started to get rather wild and MIL confessed that he also had 3/4 of the flake. Good God woman, what were you thinking??

He went mental and totally wired on a sugar high for about an hour. Needless to say dh will be having a word.

BBQ tonight if the weather holds (postponed from last night because of the downpour)

What are you making Toot?

SuperBunny · 16/06/2009 15:58

I reckon its about a teaspoon TooT. I'd weigh it for you but I don't have good enough scales. Americans don't cook by weight.

SuperBunny · 16/06/2009 16:01

You could call the marmite loveline. I'd do it but its a freephone number and that won't work from here.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 16/06/2009 16:19

Toot...I need to tell you something, that may have a bearing on our friendship....

i hate marmite.

There. It is out.

Hello all, enjoying the weather, very busy and first kick-boxing class tonight. Trying to remember why I am doing this. I hope I don't have to get my leg up to shoulder level lol!

TigerFeet · 16/06/2009 16:28

Lemur, I'm 27+3wk today, just at the start of the third trimester [eek]. The baby is due on 12th September. I've just notified work that I will be finishing on 14th August

I hope Baby Lemur hasn't got the taste for chocolate now!! How old is he? I remember having to have stern words with my Mum, she insisted it was a grandparent's right to disobay parental rules and let dd have chocolate at around 8 or 9 months.

Can anyone remember when I should start on the raspberry leaf tea? I seem to remember having to wait until 35+ weeks last time but there doesn't seem to be much of a consensus online about it.

SuperBunny · 16/06/2009 16:30

Shock Shock Shock

littlerach · 16/06/2009 16:37

TF, I thought it was 36 weeks onwards?

I am wearing a skirt today! It is hot here, but also windy which is perhaps not a good combination

TigerFeet · 16/06/2009 16:42

Don't worry Mitsu we still love you even if you are a marmite hating weirdy xx

Someone on my antenatal thread has been advised to start taking it from around 28 weeks which I didn't think sounded right. I'll get some in but I won't start taking it yet.

SuperBunny · 16/06/2009 16:47

My shock was for mits btw not Tiger. You sound quite perky - I'm glad you are doing so well now, TF.

SuperBunny · 16/06/2009 17:05

Where's Toot gone? I need to know about her marmite situation

TooTicky · 16/06/2009 17:21

It is not marmite, it is natex. Less salt and made by a more ethical company.

I was just wondering cos the nutritional values are based on 5g servings. There are 250g in jar but I just cannot visualise 1/50 of it.
I am pretty sure my servings are less than a serving though

Mits, I think that probably balances out the Kylie and Jason business so you are okay

Tiger, I know it is definitely not before 3rd trimester.....bit vague after that.
Isn't there also blue cohosh or black cohosh or something that do the same thing? And squaw vine? Or am I making that up

Bunny, how was/isyour day?

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 16/06/2009 17:23

She is reconsidering the consequences of her actions and purging her kitchen of --that- vile tar like substance marmite...

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 16/06/2009 17:24

Oh..hi toot..[grin.....

And NO...you like Kylie and Jason and that gunky stuff...you need to do some penance young lady!!!

SuperBunny · 16/06/2009 17:26

Kylie and Jason?

Natex sounds like some sort of nasty chemical or explosive. I googled: 5g marmite = 1 tsp

My day is long and a bit depressing and I'm not sure what to do with myself.

littlerach · 16/06/2009 17:28

Why depressing SB?

How long now til the big move?

ILs arrive a week today.....

TooTicky · 16/06/2009 17:32

USED TO like Kylie and Jason!

{{{{{SB}}}}}

OP posts:
TooTicky · 16/06/2009 17:36

Oh thanks SB...flip, 1tsp is a lot!!
1tsp = 23% rda B2
17% rda niacin
44% rda B12

Looks like I will have to find another source. B12 esp.

Just over 3 weeks, LR. But everything was meant to be finalised today but it got put off for '7 days or so' which means I am reluctant to sell my stuff and am panicking.

How long are your inlaws staying? Did you work out here to put everybody? Where will DS & I sleep?

is 1tsp marmite a lot? I'd easily eat that

TooTicky · 16/06/2009 17:52

Oh no SB!!!

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/06/2009 17:56

Don't panic SB. Sell your stuff. It's all going to happen and be fine

Hurrah for the 3rd trimester TF and hurrah for maternity leave!

Baby Lemur is 9mo. He has had chocolate before, but like a small mouthful, not 3/4 of a fecking flake.

I thought RLT was 36 weeks onwards, it's defo not 28 weeks. With ds1 I was getting more and more overdue and gobbled the tablets down like they were sweets

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/06/2009 17:58

Oh, and I giggled at LR being windy and hot in her skirt

Good luck with the IL's. I bet you'll have lots of rants tales to tell in the coming weeks

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 16/06/2009 18:21

Wow, TF that is so hard to believe....

SB (((((((((((())))))))))))))

IL's LR? Run away with Toot and come and see me!!

Baby Lemur is going to love his grandma and grandad FOREVER though!

I am twitchy waiting to go to my first class..I hate the first few times of everything.

Anyway..everyone seems well enough overall..

nickytwotimes · 16/06/2009 19:37

Hello everyone.
I apologise for my abscence.
ILTMIMI gently encouraged my fruity arse to come over.

Can I just say that I like Marmite. I am currently addicted to Marmite rice cakes. They are my crisp substitutes of an evening.

I have been veg/fruiting, but have had to abandon excercise for a few weeks while the physio fixes by buggered pelvis. I was actually really enjoying it. However, I was, apparently, merely strengthening my miscles intot he wrong position so am to abstain for a fortnogt or so till I can get back on t'elliptical trainer.

Anyhoo, I ramble.

Please send me your fruity good vibes on FRIDAY as my house, which I have moaned long and hard about, is now going to a closing date, so I may be shot of it soon. I am not counting my chickens yet though.

Listing for today is a bit crap:
OJ
banana
apple
raisins
salad
carrots
strawverries.

SuperBunny · 16/06/2009 19:49

Hello nicky

Where've you been? Was there cake?

I LOVE marmite ricecakes.

Good luck with house.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 16/06/2009 19:53

Oh Nicky, fancy seeing you here

That's not a bad list at all.

banana
grapes

onions
mushrooms
peppers
salad leaves

I've had a good f&v day today.
