Wake Pea Up Before you Goji - 10/10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Do they roam in herds do we think? Or perhaps they are more solitary creatures.

TooTicky · 14/06/2009 21:49

It was my dd1 that stepped in the poo. And ranted about it.

SuperBunny · 14/06/2009 22:03

I may dream of pizza herds now.

Poor DD1, toot. I often think she'd get on well with my dad. Did you have a good time? How was the quiche?

CKelpie · 14/06/2009 22:05

Couple of bananas and half a melon for bfast/elevenses 4
An apple 1
courgette and mushrooms (notice a theme?) 1

So 6, not very impressive.

Plus I did 1 hour and 45 mins on the cross trainer

CKelpie · 14/06/2009 22:07

Ooh btw Glad the meet up was a success (dog poo notwithstanding).

SuperBunny · 14/06/2009 22:10

And hour AND 45 minutes on a cross trainer? Really?

pointydog · 14/06/2009 22:11

hope dog poo didn't spoil the day.

I have eaten an apple, so 8 tody.

TooTicky · 14/06/2009 22:14

It was lovely to see everybody.

I must apologise though for being a bit crap and useless today. And not saying goodbye to everybody properly. Bit harrassed toward the end.

'natural products' usually means it has things like crushed beetle in it...perfectly natural just not neccessarily healthy

Can we stop banging on about the dog poo please...

TooT, I entertained unrealistic fantasies around 11am yesterday of just leaping on the train and surprinsing you all. (notwithstanding the fact it would have cost me around £80 which I don't have AND I wouldn't have got there until roud 4pm) XXXX

we had an idyllic day of lying on our backs in a horticultural pgardens watching clouds and we saw a halo rainbow in the blue blue sky followed by a really chilled bbq at friends. But apart from asparagus, and some carrot sticks, no F&V....

Sb snigger at noodle hair - i can just imagine it.

FrannyandZooey · 15/06/2009 09:03

morning
am in travelodge and was just nipping on for a VERY quick look at MN
when Mr Avi appeared at the window making appalled "i can;'t BELIEVE you are sitting on the internet" type pantomime gestures to the whole street and the cafe

it was lovely
agree not long enough
children running wild was fab (except the getting lost thing)
and bunny i am not mentioning it but i not only stepped in it i SAT in it LOL
and had to be publically hosed down with baby wipes and water
i like to make a glamorous impression

dses had marvellous tim
ds2 wanted to go home with \bee i think
pinkspottybooties is so cute!
pink looked fab
everyone looked fab
as usual all veggers v attractive and glowing
and then me in the middle sleep deprived and covered in dog poo glory

Guadalupe · 15/06/2009 10:45

Did you? I don't remember that, was it after I left? Bloody dogs, well, dog owners, and one ate my prawns, dog that is not the owner.

We had a great time, except for thinking I was losing my children constantly. You won't believe it but it transpired that dh actually said they could go and climb trees out of sight and swears he told me this but why the dickens would I be fretting about them not being there and not having told us they'd gone if he had. He is so bloody vague and annoying at times.

However, it was lovely to see everyone and they had a fab time up the trees with toot's dcs though dd is miffed that she was getting on well with dd1 until toot's dd1 and my ds1 starting talking finally and then they didn't take much notice of her . And ds2 LOVED playing hide and seek with other little ones and probably wishes he didn't have a neurotic mother.

Was nice to meet the new babies, everyone looked in very rude health indeed.

Guadalupe · 15/06/2009 10:48

Though of course dh drove us there and back to avoid trains and did quite a bit of playing with dcs and taking them to park so he's not all bad.

mollyroger · 15/06/2009 12:18

yes yes, all lovely and glowy etc but
WHAT DID YOU ALL WEAR!!

littlerach · 15/06/2009 13:00

Everyone looke dlovely, Molly.

Franny and Guad are so tall I felt very small, lol!

Did you know TooT and I missed the train back

After we ran and ran and i wnet the wrong way and we all nearly fell over with oir bags and small people?

We managed to get another and the station man told su it wasn;t our train and we pleaded ignorance and our children looked sad.
Then the conductor was too busy counting the children and remarking on it to notice. Phew.

Dds have gone ot school still rather mucky fron the park.

I feel that i didn't speak to anyone much though as dd1 was in a Mood. And dd2 needed to wee all the time.

TigerFeet · 15/06/2009 13:23

I bet you all had nice shoes

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/06/2009 13:59

Oh it sounds like you all had a lovely time (except for the dog poo of course!)

I have told myself I will be attending the next one.

SuperBunny · 15/06/2009 14:07

I never imagine guad being tall. I know we've done a virtual line-up but I still think of her being a shortie.

Franny, sorry about your um incident. It did make me laugh (in a sympathetic, friendly)

SuperBunny · 15/06/2009 16:36

Oh, I didn't see that LR and TooT missed the train!

I'm hot.

No F & V in da house so: Tea (2)

TigerFeet · 15/06/2009 16:57

Strawberries.

It's raining and I need to go and collect dd and go shopping. I feel a Bad Hair Evening coming on.

Sorry to hear of dog poo and train problems .

I don't wanna go out in the raaaaaaaainnnnn [wail]

BBBee · 15/06/2009 17:21

it was rather glorious - there was sunshine and rugs and tea and children going ferral.

i loved:

babies with cheeks and toes

skirts - some wonderful skirts

food all proper and washed fruit

dog owner (who I was talking to whilst his dog ravaged picnic - sorry!)

pink's DP - and my DS loved him more!

pink and her psw-ness

franny's DP who let me dig myself into a deep deep hole about dressing up and sex

franny for encouraging him

boco for boco-ness

everyone else for being nice to me even though i am never here and was an impostor

cake and wine and picnic and hurrah!

TooTicky · 15/06/2009 17:44

I had sandals and grubby toes.

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 15/06/2009 17:46

I want to know more about these skirts - who wore them?

Did you use your MN names or real ones?

No-one has elaborated about the cake.

Toot, sandals always = grubby toes

BBBee · 15/06/2009 17:52

toot - you also looked younger than your own children

um, there were welsh cakes and cakes in the cafe which WE DID NOT BUY.

there was tea and coffee with caffine.

In fact this whole healthy eating thing is an utter charade.

BBBee · 15/06/2009 17:53

i did staring at guads skirt and pinks skirt and at all the wonderous baby carrying apparrel.

gosh - did you know that we are the most wonderful people in the internet world?

mollyroger · 15/06/2009 17:57

BBeee did you call anyone a cunt?
