For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh molly, he's growing up!

Hiya Mits.

It's quiet on here. I wonder where everyone is.

pointydog · 14/06/2009 19:31

orange juice
banana
olives
tomatoes
leek and carrot and onion soup
carrot sticks
strawberries

SuperBunny · 14/06/2009 19:38

Tangerine Juice
Grape Juice

TigerFeet · 14/06/2009 19:55

Strawberries.

Lots and lots of strawberries.

We have been strawberry picking today

Whilst we're discussing our children's bons mots, DD came out with a corker today, we bought an ice cream from a lady with a bleached blond curly perm and far, far too much mousse so it was a bit matted and crunchy looking... so out she comes with "Oooh Mummy that lady's hair looks like noodles" [dies with shame]

pointydog · 14/06/2009 19:58

tangerine huice sounds nice

SuperBunny · 14/06/2009 20:05

Oh TF!

If it makes you feel any better... My reception teacher had her hair permed and, when I saw it I thought it looked lovely so I said, "Ooo, Mrs A, I like your hair. It looks like a birds nest"

But really, I meant it in a good way. I could imagine little chicks peeping out of the curls.

Tangerine juice is Nestle lovely. Someone gave me a carton.

pointydog · 14/06/2009 20:06

tsk

SuperBunny · 14/06/2009 20:10
Blush
TigerFeet · 14/06/2009 20:13

I wouldn't have minded so much but she has unruly hair herself and often looks like a scarecrow or a bog brush a little unkepmt herself

I get non nestle clementine juice from Asda sometimes. It's lovely, not quite as tart as OJ

SuperBunny · 14/06/2009 20:28

Did the lady hear?

I want clementine juice too.

SuperBunny · 14/06/2009 20:31

Oh, I just read the ingredients of the juice:

Apple Juice
Grape Juice
Pear Juice
Orange Juice
Tangerine Juice
Natural flavours
Citric Acid

So, not so much Tangerine as Everything else juice with a hint of tangerine

I'm sure in Europe, if it is called tangerine juice, the main ingredient must be tangerine. Am I wrong?

TigerFeet · 14/06/2009 20:42

I'm not sure SB. She ignored it if she did

The predominant flavour would have to be tangerine. The product name can be pretty much anything but there would have to be a legal name on the pack somewhere (usually in small print) which would have to be more accurate, probably something like "Mixed Fruit Juice with flavouring"

Am food labelling anorak.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/06/2009 20:44

No, I think labelling like that happens here too. It's a bit naughty really.

banana
satsumas
nakd bar
oj
peppers
leeks
strawberries

I bet they've all had a lovely time

TigerFeet · 14/06/2009 20:46

I'm too. What a lovely day to go to Greenwich.

SuperBunny · 14/06/2009 20:47

Oh, I'm disappointed - I thought there were better rules!

It does have a little box on the front, underneath the 'ALL NATURAL', saying, 'flavored juice blend from concentrate with other natural flavors & added ingredients'

I preferred it when it was just tangerine juice.

SuperBunny · 14/06/2009 20:48

But Tiger, there was dog poo. I bet you have that there. No need to swan all the way to Greenwich to play with a bunch of lentil weavers & dog poo.

TigerFeet · 14/06/2009 20:50

Food labelling is like pretty much anything. You have to check the small print

There is a process of continuous improvement in food labelling but there are still some fairly big holes tbh.

TigerFeet · 14/06/2009 20:52

It would be a better standard of dog poo though Bunny

Posh London dog poo.

Bohemian dog poo.

None of yer common as much Lincolnshire dog poo

TigerFeet · 14/06/2009 20:53

common as muck [sigh]

FrayedKnot · 14/06/2009 20:55

Coo-eeeeee

I am cemented to sofa in post-meet-up exhausted haze.

It was lovely to see everyone and as usual seemed not to be long enough to speak to eveyone properly.

It was especially nice to meet Lully & LR for the first time, and the thing that struck me the most of everything is how fabulously healthy everyone looked

So when anyone next comes on saying they haven;t had more than half a portion all week I won;t believe it.

And my most heartfelt thanks to Mr Avi for bringing extra tea which I gave no-one any money for , who do I owe?

I hope everyone gets home etc safely without losing any more children / stepping in any more dog poo...

Oh abd DS says he absolutely loved it.

Hello everyone else too

SuperBunny · 14/06/2009 20:59

Oh, Mr Avi was there too! Who stepped in poo? That'd be me!

Am glad you had fun, FK.

TF, they like the term 'natural' here and it has no meaning whatsoever. My local pizza chain proudly serves 'All Natural Pizza' which gives me visions of organic pizzas growing in a lush orchard.

FrayedKnot · 14/06/2009 21:01

It didn't smell like posh bohemian poo

TigerFeet · 14/06/2009 21:04

Glad you had a good time FK, glad I didn't go if everyone else looks healthy [pale]

Bunny terms such as "natural", "hand made", "farmhouse" and so forth can only be used here under fairly strict guidelines so that may be an improvement on the US. "All Natural" pizza [boggle]. Are they free range?

SuperBunny · 14/06/2009 21:24

Well, that is some consolation, FK.

I suspect the pizzas are free range, TF. After you have eaten that, you can stuff yourself with all natural soda (no HFCS, I'm sure ) and blue icecream too.

FrayedKnot · 14/06/2009 21:28

I now have visions of pizzas with little legs running round in a tiny paddock foraging for mozzarella
