For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

What is an oat flip?

Stir fry, of sorts (barley, tofy, broccoli, black beans, peas, corn) 3 or 4, I reckon
banana

previously mentioned 5, so 8 or 9. I can fix that.

sorky · 28/05/2009 08:37

Orange Juice
Banana 3 slices white toast

Baby fed 8 times last night

Can I just snooze in the corner? If I sleep with my mouth open, could you lob a bit of dried fruit at me at some point today please?

FrannyandZooey · 28/05/2009 08:41

we are having L-O-N-G breatfeeds in the night
then a very dramatic and forceful hoicking off and rolling to the other side with arms flompfing over thump on the bed
then 2 second pause in which you feel sure he is fast asleep
then FLOMPF
back over to me for another L-O-N-G feed

i went to the hairdressers and he cut loads off
i don't know why
i was too tired to stop him

I am driving to see Boco this morning. This sounds insignificant but I can assure you it is a deal for me. Since my lessons a few months ago I've only driven the odd place with dh, never a fair way on my own with dcs. I have tried to think of excuses to flake out. When dh said I could have the car my heart sank like a stone.

Toot - I have ds1 some sweets to keep him quiet in the haberdashery. He should tink himself lucky, 100 years ago it would have been laudanum.

Guadalupe · 28/05/2009 09:47

GAVE ds2

Franny - I hope you hear from Greeny. Do you know if her back is any better?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/05/2009 10:06

Good luck with the drive Guad. It should be easier without your dh as he won't be there in the passengers seat sucking his teeth. Get the kids to stay quiet so they don't distract you and you'll be fine. Say hello to Boco for me

Baby Lemur is off to Granny's for a couple of hours this afternoon

sorky · 28/05/2009 11:17

good luck with the drive Guad, is it far?

Lemur does that mean you have a spare couple of hours to come look after mine? . What are you going to do?

Apple
prunes

As a student Crispy Pancakes were a major food group, I remember Dh liking the curry ones, then all of a sudden they stopped doing them.
I can't imagine they couldve been more evil than the cheese ones.

mollyroger · 28/05/2009 14:34

loives are olives. As any fule no...

I have no idea hoe much coriander, chives etc cosntitutes a portion, as they are herbs But there was a LOT!

lovage is quite strong. it tastes like curry plant smells...

Is bloody nice in soup with peas though.

sorky · 28/05/2009 15:51

adding
goji
blueberries/cranberries mix
Apricots

7 so far.
Spag bol for tea, so not sure whether I'll manage much more than 1 out of that.
Could eat 2 satsumas and a pear tho' afterwards.

Going for another run tonight hopefully.

erm, the increase in fruit is having some rather noisy consequences

Is this normal?

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 28/05/2009 16:11

I am childishly disappointed, DD and I spent an hour in the garden doing a huge painting with some tester pots, which DS said he didn't want to join in.

When we had finished, he said it looked like fun and could he do a bit.....but he has just smeared it all in to a homogenous mess. (IMO) and I hadn't taken photos of it....

I might have to sit on the naughty step....

TooTicky · 28/05/2009 16:23

Oh Mits
but you and dd will always remember doing it.

Molly , I knew that. I am any fule.

Yes, totally normal.
i ran this morning but I was crap...have had a cold for a week or three and it seems to have disempowered my lungs.

I don't suffer with the wind, but my waste produce became regular and frequent after joining.

Whilst Baby Lemur was away I was living it up cleaning the bathroom and grocery shopping - I know how to live! MIL is having him again on Monday - hurrah!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/05/2009 17:46

Ogled? Tell me more

FrayedKnot · 28/05/2009 18:48
