For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

well moll i was stupid and didn't go to bed early again last night
how are you feeling today about the play etc?

can i add things i did today
went to the castle
went to farmers market
took boys out for lunch
sorted ds2's prescriptions

i need validating - i did bloody well didn't i? i am feeling sheepish about the house being a mess and all the many people i know who saw me having a bit of a crap day in public

you are lucky buggers with the cherries i am not letting this lie

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 05/06/2009 19:33

Can I just mention that the cherries were bloody lovely?

I would take a guess that what day of the week you get your Graze box does make a difference with the fresh fruit. As it only lasts so long, if they've got a lot of grapes on say Monday and you've said you like grapes, you get grapes. It's pot luck what they've got on that particular day. Does that make sense? I know what I mean!

Franny - yes please link to some potty and ec stuff please.

If he wasn't grunting it wouldn't have crossed my mind to do anything, but as he seems to have some awareness I'm going to go with it.

Oh yes, and bloody well done on today. I would have gone into serious meltdown.

A question for you Franny if you don't mind answering. Was ds1 at the birth of ds2? You seem like the kind of person who would embrace it, so I thought I would ask.

littlerach · 05/06/2009 19:41

Mits

Fran, sounds like a nightmare of a day.

Raisns
pear
salad
carrot
sweetcorn
tomatoes
banana
strawberries
banana chips

It feels chilly tonight.

Oh, and I have a mooncup.
And it is the time to try it.

Maybe tomorrow

FrannyandZooey · 05/06/2009 19:46

grr at cherries

ds1 was upstairs asleep Lemur! we had a doula here and a friend all set round the corner waiting for a call, but in the end it kicked off at 9 pm and was over by 4 am, and he slept through it (i have heard this is common)
i don't think it would have worked for us as i am noisy sweary type birther, and ds1 sensitive sort
it was so fab when he came in in the morning though and ds2 was there

will find links

rach can i suggest you do try tonight rather than tomorrow
don't want to be turn anyone off the idea but a lighter flow probably better for first attempts
sorry

tips for late starters

good basic guide

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 05/06/2009 21:00

Lemur...DS was around for DD's birth, but not right at the end.

He kept coming in and saying 'So ladies, how is it going?' But seemed to vanish of his own volition when I started talking through gritted -teeth-- things started getting 'intense'. But he was there within 1/2 hr of her arrival. Awww.

FrayedKnot · 05/06/2009 21:02

Hello

Franny the day does sound trying but you did loads! What was th stonking supper?

I don;t have a mooncup. Yet.

Have had to work all day with a crappy cold.

I feel unfit and unhealthy.

Tomorrow I will eat a crate of fruit.

mollyroger · 05/06/2009 21:16

oh franny, it's not just the play....that just another tiny little drop in the steady drizzle of shit which has been plaguing us this year

ds is back strutting with pride at their triumphant entry into the 12A film...I only agreed to them going as I was convinced thy wouldn't get in

tomatoes,
lettuce,
avacado,
grapes,
apples,
banana
dried cranberries
raisins

haven't actually eaten any dinner yet.

mollyroger · 05/06/2009 21:17

May I add how impressed I am at how much you achieved today Franny

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 05/06/2009 21:28

lol at being sweary birther type! Thanks for answering my nosey questions and posting the links, I'll look at them tomorrow.

How old was your son when your dd was born Mits?

blueberries
banana x2
dried fruit x2
cherries (yum yum)
humous
cucumber
carrots
cauliflower
beans

What film did ds watch Molly?

I have an unused mooncup in the bathroom cabinet. My sister gave it to me for my birthday in Dec 07, but that was the month I fell pg with Baby Lemur and I haven't had a period since - hurrah!

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 05/06/2009 21:32

DS was 4 1/2 Lemur. I never got over the shock of doing my own washing a couple of hours after she had been born though!!

I have had cherries...I had forgotten how delicious they are!

FrannyandZooey · 05/06/2009 22:34

i keep wondering when i'll have to take my mooncup out of mothballs
not for another month or two hopefully

molly i didn't really convey the full range of stuff you have been through did i
"the play etc" was a lame attempt at it
i do hope things start to change for you
i also want to know what film they saw?

everyone shuddup about the cherries now!

stonking dinner was pasta sauce made with fried onions and mushrooms, butternut squash, kidney beans, basil and tomatoes, and was just really unexpectedly nice for some reason
we tend to rely on pesto and i think i forgot how satisfying a simple tomato-based sauce can be

LOLOL @ UKIP voters being unable to turn ballot papers over... when I sat my Biology A Level mock exam I failed to turn the essay question paper over and proceeded to panic because I couldn't answer the questions on the front... needless to say I fled the hall in tears as soon as I could get away and failed the exam . I didn't vote UKIP though. Or fail to open my ballot paper properly. Sometimes, I do actually learn

I managed about 6 or 7 portions yesterday but seem to be having a non eaty day today.

Off out shortly, have a lovely day all

mollyroger · 06/06/2009 10:34
