For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

ds2 bot update:

i spend half my life changing him and reading him books on the potty but IT IS WORKING
his bot is pretty cool and not really very itchy and we definitely don't need steroid cream
atm, anyway
it is great

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2009 20:00

PLUS he is so darn cute on the potty reading a book and turning the pages madly to get to the mirror at the end so he can kiss the nice baby

Guadalupe · 03/06/2009 20:04

Good bottom news.

They will have my address and card details on some account though won't they, so I don't suppose I will get away with another free one. I've emailed them now anyway.

Dh has been away for nearly a week and I am bloody knackered. He gets back tomorrow night and then we are going on holiday on Friday so I must pack all day.

pinkspottywellies · 03/06/2009 20:07

Been trying to Get More Sleep!

I was dying to come on yesterday and proclaim my 10 but decided to get in bed before 10 for once (desite desperately aiming for 9 every night!).

I had at least 10 yesterday including but not exclusively peppers, onion, mushrooms, lettuce (whole portion!), cuc, toms, olives, carrot, celery, banana, raisins, orange juice. And a not so good 8 today: orange, kiwis, oj, apple, pear, raisins, beans, peas. Didn't have very good lunch cause we were hungry about 11 and had bread, and lunch was rushed cause we were going to see friends. But I might go and have celery and carrot before bed.

I put on 5lb last week but hardly had any f&v so I'm caning the healthy stuff this week to see if I can shift it. I didn't eat loads of junk but just not as much f&v as I'm used to.

pinkspottywellies · 03/06/2009 20:11

Getting ready for holiday is so stupidly tiring. You wouldn't need a holiday if you didn't have to pack for it!!

Good bott news Franny

Got my next Graze box coming on Fri. I've got 20 odd people signed up now!! Nearly a year of fortnightly £1 offs!

Guadalupe · 03/06/2009 20:16

I think my box comes weekly. I don't know seen as I can't check!

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2009 20:18

oh well done on the sleep
i have been shocking and today after work i felt the tiredest i have felt since being pg
i must go to bed at 10, that would be a great improvement

mango (sorry the mango eating is getting silly but i had a stash of them and they are all coming ripe at once)
baked beans
red lentils
carrots

Tatties · 03/06/2009 20:24

That's great news about the bot Franny

I just want graze to send me firey nuts every day

TigerFeet · 03/06/2009 20:25

I could just eat a mango

I have some melon in the fridge so will knaw on that

I am in bed by 9.30 most nights, hence my lack of mning.

Are you going somewhere lovely Guad?

DH is still at work. He has a big audit tomorrow and his computer keeps shutting down on him. Funny really as he is an auditor himself so is usually doling out the stress instead of being on the receiving end of it

FrayedKnot · 03/06/2009 20:37

I actually AM the Dalai Lama

Although I doubt he threatens not to read any bedtime stories if people don;t get into the bath right now

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2009 20:41

yes i think we should devise the parenting compass website
i fear i would be more gina than alfie some nights

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2009 20:44

on that note a friend of mine once heard the Dalai Lama speak
he said if you want to eradicate war - be completely revolutionary - change the world in one generation - it was quite simple - you need to go home and love your children [hairs on back of neck emoticon]

FrayedKnot · 03/06/2009 20:46

Good about DS2's bot Franny.

I have just henna'ed my hair. The last time I did it, my forehead was orange for abouta fortnight.

I think I have been careful this time

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 03/06/2009 20:49

Put vaseline on your forehead FK.

Great quote from the Dalai Lama. It made me wibble a bit.

pinkspottywellies · 03/06/2009 20:53

I had bbq cashews in my first box. Can I request a 2-a-day medium every time? Or do I just say I love lots of them?

FrayedKnot · 03/06/2009 20:55

I've got to do this graze thing haven;t I. The honey cashews sounded yum.

Does it come in the post? And fit in letter box? I leave for work before the postie comes but I could get it delivered to work.

pinkspottywellies · 03/06/2009 20:57

Yes FK you have to do it. It's marvellous! My free box code is on here (I started a thread) or on fb

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2009 21:46

yes you can request 2 a day in your medium section every time
i just did as i got 2 lots of nuts this week and i don't like nuts THAT much
although the nuts they send are ruddy nice i will admit
fk it goes in the letterbox
you have to get it to go to work then everyone will ooh and you can sign them all up and get money off your next box

my god if only this was pyramid selling i would be LOADED

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2009 22:04

i'm going to bed
it's nearly before 10

Guadalupe · 03/06/2009 22:06

I think my account problem is a con so I can't cancel, only keep on receiving andpaying and I can never change my order. Hmm?

TF - I am going to stay in a barn in Herefordshire. We went last year just before my op and it was so lovely we are going back, hopefully in better spirits. I will try and keep hold of the keys this time so that if we go to Wales we can return in our own car rather than Dai's bus.

It was meant to be relaxing after we'd moved/unpacked/got organised!

There is a welcome hamper and a homemade seasonal cake. Last year it was simnel, now I am thinking will it be a victoria sponge or lemon cake? The food there is amazing.

TooTicky · 03/06/2009 22:11

FRANNY COME BACK!!
We have not resolved the flower issue.

SuperBunny · 04/06/2009 03:23

Ooo, I like all these confessions. I have more than once threatened to put DS's bike in the next bin if he didn't get up off the ground and ride the bloody thing. I have also marched in armed with a bin bag, having repeatedly asked DS to put his toys on the floor. The poor little mite looked in horror and sobbed, "No Mummy, please don't throw them away" I didn't throw them away but I really felt like it.

I thought 10/10 people all had amazing children who did exactly what they are meant to do without even needing to be asked and certainly with no arguing or being difficult. I feel better now.

I am going to be lovely from now on. Actually, I only have 2 more days with him then 5 weeks away

I disagree with Franny - I think flowers do count. If leaves do, why don't flowers?

FrannyandZooey · 04/06/2009 08:02

oh you can all eat bark then
eat twigs
go on, eat gravel
you can count it

FrannyandZooey · 04/06/2009 08:03

that advert "I don't go OTT - I just disinfect the key areas"
is REALLY pissing me off

littlerach · 04/06/2009 08:43

SB, why 5 weeks away?

TooT, lol re the car.

I am having slight panic about the meet
Plus dd2 is o excited she will be awful on the day. She has evemn told her teacher about it. Now she will think i ma w eirdo.
