For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Nooooo! You fucket. I made that that up.

ahundredtimes · 28/05/2009 21:12

Boco had one with her old good looking boss.

I'm a middle-class tosser. Someone give ME swedish clothes IMMEDIATELY.

TooTicky · 28/05/2009 21:12

I have a date with some nettle crusted cheese.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/05/2009 21:15

Barcelona sounds lovely 100x.

I have heard a lot of good things about Swedish clothes recently, something to do with the great colours.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/05/2009 21:18

Dh always gets the wrong end of the stick (a combination of being a bit hard of hearing, but mostly to do with just not paying attention) It can lead to some real cringeworthy situations.

Boco · 28/05/2009 21:18

Oh go on Guad is very funny.
Which is the one with my boss. I have many because I am so frequently an idiot.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/05/2009 21:22

Oh, Boco you're here. A v v dull question, but have you been into the Multiyork place near you? If so is it worth a look if I'm in the area?

Guadalupe · 28/05/2009 21:23

Yes, Barcelona sounds lovely. I'd like to take ds1 away. He's been wanting to go to Rome for years.

Boco · 28/05/2009 21:25

My mum lives about 2 minutes walk from that place moveit. I guess it's worth it - if you're looking for furniture. I got my two settees from there for half price, and they're a little bit unusual. What are you after? Great for cheap fabric.

ahundredtimes · 28/05/2009 21:28

Yes, well it was lovely because it was in Barcelona, obviously.

But actually that was the icing, I think the principle is worth stealing perhaps - walk up snowdon, or go camping on your own or whatever. But it was especially good, because I don't always see ds1 as clearly as the others, so it was nice to be with on my own with him really.

TooTicky · 28/05/2009 21:30

It is so hard to find opportunities to spend time with individual children.

I'm not looking for anything in particular at the moment, but I saw it advertised for the first time last week and wondered what it was like.

I have been to retail outlets before but they've been a bit shite, so I wondered if that one was any good.

Boco · 28/05/2009 21:48

It's quite weird because it's on the edge of a really rural green in a tiny village, they don't even have a shop or a post office, just a big multi york in an old mill. Not sure if it's worth it unless you're looking for something, I wouldn't go there for fun really.

pointydog · 28/05/2009 22:17

helloo, you holiday-makers, you gad-abouters.

Do you know, I mentioend the 10/10 thing at a Health course last week. I introduced myself to a group of people and spoke of my aspiration to eat 10 fruits a day. And then I panicked in case any of them would dig a little and find out about the internet connection.

TooTicky · 28/05/2009 22:31

I am not holidaying or gadding

Did any of them have a clipboard?

OP posts:
pointydog · 28/05/2009 22:34

Hi toot. No clipboards but we all had to write our own badges and draw a healthy picture on it

TooTicky · 28/05/2009 22:36

A healthy picture? What did you draw?

OP posts:
pointydog · 28/05/2009 22:42

attempted to draw 10 fruit and veg but ran out of steam and time by about 5. I am not into these ice-breaker activities. i can break ice without them.

I sometimes mention 10/10, well the eating bit of it, and then worry that people will realise that it is all an internet thing and think I am odd.

TooTicky · 29/05/2009 00:29

I think I am quite obviously odd so it doesn't bother me

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 29/05/2009 00:37

I like to try to keep my oddness to myself for as long as possible.

I have just had a bit of a flounce from my local version of MN. I run it and it has about 350 families on and I sort of ranted and said I quit

TooTicky · 29/05/2009 00:40

oooh!

Poor old SB. Did you accuse them all of having lesbian love affairs? IME too much forum can bring too much irritation. Quite right to have a good shout at them and sweep out the door for a bit.

We have builders in upstairs. They are knocking walls down Is sort of exciting, but also alarming and is making me feel indecisive. He just asked whether I wanted a little built in cupboard to be pulled out, and I froze and couldn't make a decision so said, 'what do you think?' Oddly enough, he didn't have an opinion.
