For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I'm still laughing from when I was at school and a teacher bent down to look at my friend's ear rings and she kissed her on the lips because for one wild moment she thought she was going to kiss her.

FrannyandZooey · 28/05/2009 20:53

Oh and the other thing I was going to say, was after we came back I went looking for a book for ds1 to read. And I found a book called Sticking Up For Yourself, and I think all the ds's with anger and self-esteem issues should read it. It's really good honestly, and v. g. on anger triggers and knowing your feelings and building self esteem and learning how to be assertive without being angry etc.

I really recommend it, we're both reading it and talking about it. Is wise and sensible, and not too alarming.

FrannyandZooey · 28/05/2009 20:58

Ah she confesses all her darkest secrets to me Franny, so that I can go and repeat them on the interweb for the amusement of countless strangers. Ooops.

Her other funny one was at a dinner party with lots of older adn more professional and slightly intimidating people who they didnt' know - one of them was a sex therapist. Her dp was a bit preoccupied with her, and had some paranoid thoughts about how maybe she could tell all sorts of things about him...he got up to excuse himself to have a cigarette outside, and said 'just popping out for a wank' instead of fag. He was v.

I had a friend who arrived at a dinner party saying 'I'm sorry I'm late, I'm sorry I'm late, I'm so sorry, I'm sorry I'm late, I'm sorry I'm fat.'

dh has already pinched it annoyingly.

Lol at wank and poo on sleeve and funny french and all the rest.

Boco's bosom was indeed magnificent as was my brie and tomato pie. I am about to eat the goats cheese and caramelised onion one I bought in the deli along with some asparguse, cornish jarg and some red wine.

I have been cleaning windows, my god it is hard work when they are covered in builders shit.

Boco · 28/05/2009 21:08

Guad has got a really good one that haunts me since she told it. See if she'll tell it.

Guadalupe · 28/05/2009 21:09

I don't know which one you mean.

Guadalupe · 28/05/2009 21:10

I hope it doesn't involve me.

TooTicky · 28/05/2009 21:10
