For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

if you want to get the free box btw, you can cancel it v easily after their first one has arrived
if you set the email address to your email, they write to tell you when it is sent, and you can then log in and cancel the order if you don't want them to get further boxes

hello

I wanted to find out how junior pointydog's skin was and franny's ds but I can't find you lot anywhere else on the board so I knew you must be hiding here.

foxinsocks · 23/05/2009 08:38

I mean could you let me know how they are doing cos I was wondering you see

FrannyandZooey · 23/05/2009 09:38

fox ds2's skin is fab all over except for under his nappy which we seem to have to learn to live with
when he is using hydrocortisone cream life is just peachy
the rest of the time it ranges from pretty good to outright dreadful (the bottom, that is - life is generally pretty good most of the time, although obviously this puts a damper on it sometimes)
thank you for asking

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 23/05/2009 09:47

oh I'm so pleased franny.

And having the worst bit in the nappy region is about the best of a bad situation in that he won't be stuck in nappies forever and hopefully once out of them, it will improve substantially (that's what I found with mine, hope it is similar with your ds).

ToeRag · 23/05/2009 10:11

morning.
Am feeling very cheated cos the weather people promised sun, sun, sun everywhere. But we have none, none, none.
my allotment is overgorwn with weeds in a week, the courgette babys I planted last week are Gone Without A Trace and my blackcurrant bush has an aphid infestaion which is killing it. Blackfly.
we are off to t' boat in a bit. But my plan of sunbathing on the roof might be, curling up inside with a book now.

FrannyandZooey · 23/05/2009 11:06

god it is boiling here and typically i don't like it [ungrateful]
sorry about garden woes moll

am off to gym

fox yes indeed, we are v pleased about the rest of his skin and when we really apply ourselves to putting him on the potty regularly it improves no end
hard on ds1 though as it takes up so much of the day
a friend suggested just strapping a potty to his back now he is crawling - like a tortoise

SB, dd2's tecaher was maternity cover. her regular teacher is coming back for the last term . Rather unsettling really, but hey ho.

mollyroger · 23/05/2009 11:35

LittleR I love going round the charity shops!

Lovely weather here today in Budapest. Sunny and hot. A bit windy. DH is bbq-ing some burgers and sausages for lunch.

For breakfast I had:

1 apple
1 banana
1 kiwifruit
1 nectarine
3 strawberries
all chopped up in a bowl with a carton of yoghurt over it. It was nice but I need to add something to make it more low GI. Was starving again after an hour.

FrannyandZooey · 23/05/2009 13:21

buda i have about 4 portions of fruit for breakfast but include some dried fruit, plus sunflower and pumpkin seeds, oats, and soya milk
you could add nuts as well if you like them

gym 50 mins
lots of cycling and treadmilling up a hill
then came back to find fire engine with fire fighters parked 2 doors down
i think this was my reward

I am addicted to their chilli and coriander prawns. Tomato and basil are nice too.

Have you tried their new veg sushi wraps? Just a very thin wrap about lots of veg, they are about 10 calories per pack.

Lovely here, we are about to do a BBQ.

Raspberries
strawberry and apple juice
banana
salsa

I bought ds2 high rise converse boots rather than the more summer appropriate low ones just because they look so cute. They do look REALLY cute on his fat little legs.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 23/05/2009 14:32

ooh, I haven't tried the cupcakes, maybe I'll have to give them a whirl - just for research purposes you understand

We have an M&S food place at the garage near us, it is FATAL.

Weather here is glorious too. We're now off out for a walk and an ice-cream.

pinkspottywellies · 23/05/2009 14:35

at littlefranny with potty on him botty and at poor littleguad, sweating away in big high boots!!

Oops, I appear to have only eaten toast, and bread. Well I had 4 thick slices of cucumber in my sandwich and some cherry tomatoes. But still not very impressive. Am I still invited to the meet? I've been really slacking lately!

We're going out for chinese tonight. Buffet type place so dd can stuff herself with noodles. She's so cute!

SB definietly order your sis the box. I'm going to get my mum and sister to order one while we're at mums and MIL came yesterday and she's got my free box code. Think she'll get all the other ils onto it too!

pinkspottywellies · 23/05/2009 14:37

Never buy M&S food but might make that our meet treat. Sounds fab - I'll have salad and DH can find some huge sandwich (white bread of course) with lots of meat in to counteract the fact that he'll be spending the day around vegetarians and vegans

SuperBunny · 23/05/2009 15:16

Sorry Buda

Will sort Graze box, thanks.

Am off to yoga.

Buda · 23/05/2009 15:37

That's okay SuperBunny. It WILL work for me. It WILL. Nothing else has!

I will bear the nuts and seeds and things in mind Franny. Must get organised to make some granola. Will find myself a recipe tomorrow and buy the bits I need. I do like nuts and seeds so it is just a matter of getting organised.

I am on edge of menopause too so trying to eat soya products so have soya milk for my cereal.

I have done NO exercise for years. 2 of my good friends go to a step class here that I want to start going to. Need to get a bit fitter first though as they are super fit. We are getting a puppy in a month too so as she gets bigger I will be walking more.

Those Graze boxes look great.

Also of M&S food.

Home to Dublin on Thursday though to see my new baby niece so about that.

littlerach · 23/05/2009 16:10

I have a baby neice too, Buda, and she is so cute. Actually she is 10 months now

Lotsof gardening today.

Glorious weather.

Our M&S food closed a month or so ago.
So at M&S food.

Buda · 23/05/2009 16:16

My baby niece is 3 days old littlerach! And she is my baby sis's baby. I was 15 when my sis was born. It is so strange to think of her as a mum!

FrannyandZooey · 23/05/2009 16:46

sorry about starting m+s tangent
guad that sounds fab, i hope they have it here - i love their veg sushi box
i tried sainsburys one, as much cheaper but was horrid
these cupcakes
they are scrummy although disconcertingly soft
they have raspberry compote in the middle and it tastes like the stuff you get in doughnuts, except nice

FrannyandZooey · 23/05/2009 16:48

we had ginger beer for lunch and i swear it had alcohol in it
was that me being mad? i started to feel drunk (am v v sensitive to alcohol now) and freaked and made ds give his to dp, which caused a tantrum
it didn;t say it was alcoholic - what's the law on labelling i wonder?

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 23/05/2009 17:19

Franny, I am sure it MUST be labelled if it has alcohol in it. Where was it from?

Buda, how lovely. Do you get home often?

Mushrooms
Tomatoes

littlerach · 23/05/2009 17:20

Wow, Buda, that does make it extra special

I'd have thought it would have alcohol labelling Fran, as otherwise under 18's could buy it?

Pear
banana
slald
raisns

about to have more salad leaves
tomaotes
pineapple
kiwi
