For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Boco · 22/05/2009 15:08

Raisins
cranberries

hummus
avocado
blueberries

I tried to go swimming, but didn't. Watched dd swimming instead.

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 15:19

Not a Morrissey fan either.

sorkycakey · 22/05/2009 15:20

budge up and make room in the pit then mitsubishi warrioress, I reckon I'll be spending some time there.

Can I just recap here, Twirls and cups of strong tea don't count do they?

I like my men very intelligent with six pack preferably. A rare breed I admit.

What is a graze pack? Do you order them everyday?

Worth a shot though, eh Aviatrix? < budges up>

Apricots-dried, quite nice they were too.

Right, I have 2 lots of poo-poo pants to change, then a grandma to go visit and wish a Happy 92nd Birthday.
Should be back later tonight.

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 15:52

Graze is Franny's latest obsession. Small installments of fruit in the post.

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 15:53

I ate a peach. And some fruit cake.

Buda · 22/05/2009 16:00

Hi all. So far have had a banana this morning, a spring onion in my lunchtime sandwich and I am eating an apple.

First question - does wine count? Am having shitty day and need some!

I have always loved the titles - usually get them but it sometimes takes a while!

Musical tastes? Not sure I have any! I think I am too old! Like fairly mainstream stuff. Like 80s stuff.

Dinner tonight was supposed to be salmon, new potatoes, asparagus, peas and roasted cherry tomatoes but I forgot to take the salmon out of the freezer. So it will be take away curry. And wine. Which MUST count as fruit surely??

mollyroger · 22/05/2009 16:20

sadly wine does not count.

Buda and Sorky, I find that even if just sometimes i step away from the biscuits and eat an apple instead, I feel better for it.
I do tend to get 10+ most days and then others (like today) I've lived on toast and marmite....
Sometimes I just feel good knowing I have done better than most other people out there with their struggling to hit 5 portions a day

Guadalupe · 22/05/2009 17:22

It's not a competition, Molly.

I usually make ten but I don't always report because I am a slacker.

I have painted my garden chairs with the samples I bought for my new kitchen. I thought this was a genius idea rather than just putting stripes on something as they have been desperate for a revamp. However, the flaw is that it might look odd having my garden chairs varying shades of my kitchen units. It might look contrived whereas in actual fact it is completely practical.

But, now, tell me this. If you have one cream chair, one granite, one oak apple (browny grey) and one baniyan blue, what one would you paint the table? I think stripes of all them would amuse me but look odd.

sorkycakey · 22/05/2009 17:48

Stripes for me.

Surely wine counts, after all it was grapes at some point & Gin that must count too

Buda my day was crappy too. Whinging toddler and constantly feeding baby

I'll count my chilli as 2 I think, it was loaded with different beans...... Do beans count?

Who posts the fruit?

mollyroger · 22/05/2009 17:48

I meant 'other' mrere mortals, not you lot...

Why not stripes?

Buda · 22/05/2009 17:50

Guadalupe - I know I am awkward but I think I would go with a completely different colour for the table!

Am off to have wine grapes.

littlerach · 22/05/2009 17:56

Red table, Guad, just to make it stand out

Dd2's teacher left amisdt many tears. Soem of the children were really sobbing.

pear
raisns

And that's it
That's actually all I have eaten too
Oh, and some choclate cake. the raisns were in cereal.

Off to chip shop in a minute.
Tis Friday after all!

Guadalupe · 22/05/2009 18:18

I know, Molly. Was just joking.

Thing is I am not sure of the shade of cream which will be my main three units, it looks a tiny bit too yellowy, so I might have to buy another sample anyway and the table could serve that purpose.

I sort of like the idea of stripes.

Guadalupe · 22/05/2009 18:19

There is something very wrong with that sentence. I am tired, that must be it.

mollyroger · 22/05/2009 18:22

What about a dark blue for the table.

pinkspottywellies · 22/05/2009 18:23

Guad of course it's a competition

My graze came too Pineapple, goji berry salad - berries, walnuts and pumpkin seeds, and bbq cashews Fantastic, definitely getting more. Will give you my free box code.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/05/2009 18:35

This is what Graze is If anyone fancies it Pink, Franny and I all have codes that entitle you to a free delivery.

I have mine delivered on a Friday (it was my first today) as the cupboards are usually bare by the end of the week.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/05/2009 18:37

Sorkey - yes beans do count. How old is your wee one? Have you got a really new one?

LR - I'll have a cod roe, chips and mushy pies from the chippy please! Oh and a gherkin

pointydog · 22/05/2009 18:43

Yesterday, top day:

sultnans
orange
mixed salad
olives
beetroot
tomatoes x 2 (those little vittorias are lovely)
plus 2 pears

9! Hot dog!

pointydog · 22/05/2009 18:45

Morrissey fan sounds a bit sad. Someone who recognises the genius of morrissey's lyrics - turned to pure joy by the music of marr - would be a better description.

pointydog · 22/05/2009 18:45

plus, yesterday, someone complimented me on teh beatiful scent of my orange

pointydog · 22/05/2009 18:46

absolutely gorgeous day here, would have been perfick for the beach
