For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello Sorkycakey

If you read the links on the OP, you'll see what you can include. Nuts and seeds don't count, and if you do list them our leader will throw you in the pit (I am not joking).

If you get 10/10 Pink wil be along to award you a sticker. She is the only one with the keys to the cupboard, so don't accept stickers from anyone else - they DO NOT count

SB and Avi, you need some FOCUS

Hello all. Can I join in please? I am SO bad at eating fruit. Not too bad with veg. I have been meaning to join you lovely people for ages.

I have lots of weight to lose and I do no exercise. I know this isn't a weight-loss thread but I do believe that if I eat 10 portions of fruit and veg a day I will have less room for crap! That is the theory anyway.

sorkycakey · 22/05/2009 09:28

thanks for welcome

I've managed a banana on 2 slices of wholemeal toast.
Pretty good going for me, yesterday saw a cuppa with 6 giant chic buttons for breakfast

If you make chilli do you tot up the ingredients or give a rough guess?

FrannyandZooey · 22/05/2009 09:50

ugh. Am pacing, waiting for ed pyshce woman. Funnily she is same one has been dealing with my best friend and neighbour's child. She's going to think we're all screwed up down our way!

Have been nibbling strwberries but that's it.
Will be having more marinaded chickpeas for lunch with salad though.
And dinner includes roasted rtomatoes, courgettes, red and white onions, peppers, ushrooms, sweet potato.

Sorky and Buda, hello!
We do kind of need to know your taste in music and your feelings about Bernard Cribbens men with mournful eyes.

If in doubt, ask pointy. She's fairly new and has got the measure of us all quite successfully! She's got a Spreadsheet.

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 10:30

Vibes to Molly.

Welcome to Sorky and Buda.

Avi...beach...

mollyroger · 22/05/2009 10:33

oh I missed that beach comment
Is black, black sky here with clouds which are heavy, dark and pendulous

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 10:36

We have sun and cold wind. And ducklings and goslings.

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 10:42

Omfg they have re-released Karlsson on the Roof but the pictures are all wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the originals. They have done the same with Pippi and Emil.
AND 101 Dalmations, which really is outrageous.

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 10:44

Look, this is the real Karlsson!!

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 10:47

SWOON

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 10:49

oh and this

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 10:53

Yay!!!!!! Wahooooooo!!!!!!!

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 10:55

Ooooooooooh!

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 10:57

Hurrah!!!! A proper one!

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 11:00

Oh and one of the most stunningly beautiful stories ever written

TooTicky · 22/05/2009 11:06

And when you have read the books you can listen to the music and visit here which is so beautifully done.
I want to go back!

womblingalong · 22/05/2009 11:58

TooT and Franny they look fab, but TooT, the Lindgren's are so expensive, I won't have any money coming in after June, so need cheap or library, so will see if they are available.

Franny, how expensive do the Forest's get?

sorkycakey · 22/05/2009 12:47

Apple
Glass orange juice

Quite fond of Bernard cribbins actually
Mournful eyes hmm, unsure, what do you mean? Who are we thinking about?
Music- allsorts really, tori amos, billie holiday, jazz, Motown, Hendrix quite eclectic I think.

I'm slightly nervous I'm about to be chucked in the Pit with those answers

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/05/2009 14:10

Sadly, I think the mournful eyes are with respect to Bernard Cribbins. Yes indeed these veggers are odd.

Great use of the word pendulous Molly! And good luck with the lady.

Welcome Buda! See my earlier post to Sorky regarding the pit and stickers

My Graze box arrived. I am in love

The food was delish (pineapple, olives and choc covered peanuts) and the packaging was fab. Dh was most jealous and feeling left out. Nevermind.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 22/05/2009 14:24

I spend most of my time in the pit, as I find him slightly less tedious than watching the proverbial paint dry an aquired taste.

Oh and I eat a LOT of nuts as well!!

Hello Buda...love your name..

My DC's are on holiday already and are being miserable little rats....

My wrinkly old man of choice is
him.
If he sang this for me, I might even let him run some errands for me...
so you lot can fight over Mr Cribbins...
