For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Boco, you will have to tell us all about the joggler. When do you get it? How long do you have to test it for?

I got to test the Lidl nappies. They weren't very good and they smelt of wee.

FrannyandZooey · 21/05/2009 19:17

normal disposables really stink i find
we tried pampers and all sorts in attempt to cure ds2's bot, and they reeked of wee
the poncy eco ones don't imo

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 21/05/2009 19:20

I agree with you Franny. Pampers and Huggies also smell of wee, but Nature Care don't. Maybe it's the chlorine that makes them reek?

A friend brought round a V-Tech walker thing for Baby Lemur today. God, it's irritating the shit out of me already, but he seems to love it. He especially likes to play with it using his feet.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 21/05/2009 19:21

I hope the viewings went well Avi, fingers crossed for you.

I am chatty tonight

FrannyandZooey · 21/05/2009 19:32

god that v tech walker is the bane of modern family life

greeny is coming to stay next week in this nice self contained b+b round the corner, she booked it ages ago
well today the owner rang them and said "oh we see from your booking you have children - we don't cater for children, so you can't come."
greeny :but we came last year!
owner: well we didn't know you had children
greeny: but you met them!
owner: well i don't recall that

etc
anyway they insisted on cancelling their booking! with one week to go

i sorted it out in the end but ruddy twats

Yay for viewings, Avi. I hope someone puts in a decent offer.

Boco, that tooth thing happened to me. The dentist said they accidentally drilled too far so would have to do root canal stuff which I would have to pay out of pocket for. I told them to pull my tooth out (because it only cost $50 instead of $800+) but then it turned out I was pregnant and just had sensitive nerves. All ok now and didn't need the tooth out afterall.

TooT, that SBawesome face thread got deleted as did the other post. All v odd.

Red Pepper
Tomatoes

I had a lovely south african dentist. Nothing like a bit of eye candy if you have to be doing something horrible

I made pizza this afternoon.

It hailed this afternoon. Hailstones the size of peas. Garden peas, not petit pois

mollyroger · 21/05/2009 21:41

[anger] at twatty B&B owners (but with a tiny lol at their bizarreness)

I am child-free from tomorrow until sunday

FrayedKnot · 21/05/2009 21:46

I'm glad he didn;t have to do any root work, Boco, despite his odd advice.

Pink you must eat carbs! Just make it wholemeal bread or pitta or something. Imho it is white bread that gives you the worst slump.

I bought a bird book this week to take away with us this weekend so we can spot things. Will be reporting back next week, 100.

I am eating peanut butter and chocolate spread on toast. I highly recommend it.

Strawberries x 2
Peaches x 2
Large salad with leaves, celery, beetroot, peppers, cucumber & asparagus (3 portions?)
Veg curry - courgette, aubergine, cauli, lentils (2 large platefuls so surely 4 portions)

DH is making me more snickers on toast

FrayedKnot · 21/05/2009 21:56

Hail

Yes very weird B&B people.

Molly it must feel very srange.

What ARE you going to do??!!

mollyroger · 21/05/2009 22:08

We had hail too. In the sunshine...

FK, it is short notice - my brother wants to look after them for some strange reason. I suspect a woman might be involved...
So I haven't had time to plan anything. And it is a tiny bit annoying as there have been loads of ocasions recently when I could have done with a babysitter.

So we are having wild sex nice food tomorrow night and on sat going to the boat for a wild sex marathon gentle cruise to a canalside pub which does nice food, followed by wild sex an early night.

On sunday we shall come home, I will go to allotment and then we will go to a favourite bar for brunch and live music. Then I will go to bed to recover while dh prepares a roast dinnr. Whereapon boys will be returned t us, no doubt fuelled up on no sleep and McDonalds

FrayedKnot · 21/05/2009 22:13

Molly, that sounds perfect. Especially the wild sex food and pubs and stuff

FrannyandZooey · 21/05/2009 22:19

TooTicky · 21/05/2009 22:36

Thank you FK

sorkycakey · 21/05/2009 23:06

I'd like to sign my rather unhealthy bot up to your thread if that's ok?
I'll be starting tomorrow but have a quick question. Does museli count?

Do I need to post anything up about me? I've lurked for a good while, but waited until the baby was better at feeding before starting.

Be back tomorrow then...... maybe....... probably

TooT, which Lindgrens are easiest to get hold of? I love Eva Ibbotsen already, and have read most of her books repeatedly, so romantic and lovely.

Franny, Which is the best Forest to start with? I am trying to compile a reading list atm, as I go through books so quickly, I like to have a reading list on the go.

SuperBunny · 22/05/2009 00:29

Welcome Sorky

What a strange B&B

peppers
tomatoes
juice
veg lasagna (2 or 3)

Why am I so crap at this now?
