For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

We have a spanish lady for our dentist.
She is v nice but rather earnest.
And it is rather hard to get an appt unless you book well in advance.

have ordered graze box. For next wednesday as will def be here. Post box is a crap one on the wall rather than in door, and not much fits in.

Have spent all day writing abot Bandura and Piaget for my NVQ and feel rather worn out.
And have ot go to work this evening.

On the up side, it is sunny and the washing has dried nicely and TT is out in his run.
He licked all of my hand and wrist last night.

FrannyandZooey · 21/05/2009 15:11

thank god for lurkers
i have about 15 people signed up for this thing
i think i will keep the deliveries on for a while - do you think £2 a box is terribly extravagant? it seems like a nice treat once a week, but am thinking am ridiculous also

Hmm...well yes, um...gosh, fast moving thread..

I had a house rabbit that used to spray H and grunt at him when he tried to come near me!!
He also chewed through an electric cable and survived (the rabbit, not H).

What about Oatcakes and the like Pink? You need your low GI foods really....

I have cormorant envy

Banana, x2
Apple,
orange, 1.5
mango, 1.5
tomato,
juice,

Tea...um dunno...

Lots of walking. But cycled up two BIG hills last night.

I drank wine for the first time in two years. I didn't like it and won't be doing it again.

Well dentist didn't know what was wrong, cant' find a problem with my teeth, but my jaw is swollen - the muscle on one side, so he just told me not to open my mouth so wide, to eat soft food, take pain killers, and do jaw exercises. No more for me. At least I don't have to have my nerves scooped out.

Guadalupe · 21/05/2009 16:11

Will dp feel deprived?

Oatcakes! Good point, MW. Pink, you need oatcakes. I used to live on oatcakes, haven't had them for ages.

FrannyandZooey · 21/05/2009 16:12

sorry boco
and LOL at 'no more for me'

Guadalupe · 21/05/2009 16:20

Well, he might be missing some crunch.

Boco · 21/05/2009 16:20

Pink does not need oatcakes, Pink needs DONUTS fgs. This is the time in your life when you can eat sugar filled carbs guilt free, and you must not waste it!

Boco · 21/05/2009 16:22

I got picked to get a joggler!
What will this mean? Will it be just another thing to do, or will it revolutionise my life and turn me into an organised and productive person?

FrannyandZooey · 21/05/2009 16:23

oh Boco AAAAARRRRRRRGH i am so fricking jealous i wanted a joggler

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 21/05/2009 16:37

Er, if you care to Read The Thread, Boco, you will see that I recommend Pink eats cake every afternoon. There is nothing wrong with oatcakes for LUNCH.

womblingalong · 21/05/2009 16:52

What is this joggler of which you speak?

Can anyone talk to me about Antonia Forrest? Is she worth reading? - I love children's books, and need a new crush.

TooTicky · 21/05/2009 17:29

Wombling, read Astrid Lindgren. I can lend you rarities.

Boco, glad they let you keep your nerves.

I want to curl up in a corner and do nothing. Can I please?

womblingalong · 21/05/2009 17:37

Come over here TooT, to this little nest of comfy cushions and blankets, and have a rest.

Astrid Lindgren is fab, I have Pippi, and a couple of the Bullerby Children books, what others are good?

mollyroger · 21/05/2009 17:48

wow boco, well done. I started to sign up for one then realised I have a calendar...
poor you on dentist front.

I wnt a graze box but I am off work til june 2nd now ! Except for next weds for some random reason.

just had the loveliest dinner.
my mouth is zingy!
cajun spiced pork loin with mixed leaves, roasted tomatoes, jersey royals, and a rather nice little tikka style marinaded chickpea dish ith oodles of fresh corriander. Sometimes I amaze myself...

add that to vegetable soup for lunch,
an orange
grapes
strawberries

and that, i believe, is another 10.

TooTicky · 21/05/2009 17:57

Wombling, you must read Ronja the Robber's Daughter, The Brothers Lionheart, Mio My Son, Karlsson on the Roof, the books about Emil...
...oh, and I also love The WonderfulAdventures of Nils Holgersson by Selma Lagerlof...about a boy who travels around Sweden on the back of a goose

TooTicky · 21/05/2009 17:58

Oh and I can't sit down or I will sleep.

Molly, will you come and cook for me? You can keep yer loins but the rest sounds lovely.
